We hired Amity to replace a deck that was pretty much falling apart. Joe rightly told us that the understructure (joists) were not going to hold new deck boards, and he was right. Whomever built the original made a mess of things, so a complete tear-away was needed. This necessarily involved the town building inspector, who was a real stickler for detail. Joe worked with him throughout the job to both satisfy the building codes and our desire for the finished product. Joe was "on the job" every day and his crew was certainly among the most efficient I've ever seen on a big job. On top of all that, even though the job expanded with them having to pour several new footings, the quoted price held from start to final payment. I would never hesitate to hire Amity for my roof and gutters -- which is what's coming next. 5 stars!

The biggest problem is that the paint they used for the ceilings on most of the first floor did not adhere; as a result, the new coats of paint peeled and fell to the floor for months. We asked Patrick to attend to the ceiling issue -- either by fixing the problem or refunding us some of the cost and he declined, saying that he was not responsible for the ceiling's texture which, it turns out, would not accept new paint. Eventually we installed and painted drywall to cover up the ceiling mess, paying another contractor an additional $5000. I would not recommend this painting company.

While we were living in Clinton we had him build a two-car garage. We wanted some extra room for a workshop and some additional electrical outlets and a space on top, so he took the time and listened to our exact needs and came up with a design that was perfect. He then gave us a price and a date and that was it. The garage was completed on time at the right price and turned out exactly what we wanted. No delays or complications. Our contractor hired these guys and the work was repulsive. Upon first look everything looked good, since we weren't living in the home, however.... We had to have the first tile shower they put in ripped out because it looked horrendous- chunks of grout missing, sloppy cut tiles, uneven spacing. They blamed this on the fact that we picked herringbone tile and "non Italian" tile). The second redo was just as horrifying (again chunks of grout missing) and resulted in our shower leaking into the downstairs. Steve (the owner) came to look at the shower and was an entitled snake who took 0 accountability for the work his guys did. There was grout missing and cracking all over the place! Again, they made another excuse and blamed it on bad grout. THEY PICKED THE GROUT. This isnt to say our contractor wasn't at fault either, but between the two, AWFUL! For the third time, we hired our OWN guy to come fix it (who isn't even a professional tiler but he blew these yahoos out of the water). STAY AWAY FROM BT TILE, or if you do hire them, be sure to inspect every little thing and prepare yourself for small claims court! THE PHOTOS SHOULD SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES!
