Well, one dentist in San Antonio said I did need three fillings, but the VA and two other dentists said no. One became an infection and I had a root canal. But that former dentist still didn't pick up on the other cavities, and the first cleaning was cursory. So, I tried Spears Creek after I received a flyer from them. Once they identified the carries, they quickly made an appointment to fill the cavities and put a protection on the other teeth so they wouldn't get cavities. The hygienist thoroughly cleaned my teeth. I was so glad. The doctor and the staff are very competent. They don't miss anything, and they make you feel at ease. I would say this is the best dentist I've gone to in my whole entire life! And that's saying something! If you want a great dentist, go here. They know how to evaluate your dental health.

I had been seen at this office before and my previous dentist was aware of my dental fluorosis and concerns regarding the appearance and condition of my teeth. Unfortunately, since she has moved, my recent experience with Dr. Cook left me extremely anxious and uncertain. I went in regarding a tooth I had been told appeared chipped/exposed rather than obviously decayed. During the procedure, the atmosphere noticeably shifted and became very quiet, which immediately made me feel like something was wrong. Dr. Cook continued drilling, the tooth became significantly smaller, and I eventually had to ask if something was wrong before being told the tooth had "crumbled" and that I may now need a crown down the line. 1 was visibly upset afterward and asked to speak with the manager. Although she initially came to talk to me and walked me back to the room, she left before Dr. Cook came in to further explain the situation, despite how overwhelmed I clearly was. I also had another area smoothed down between two teeth after mentioning it felt rough, but since then that area has become sensitive and painful as well. I paid $517 for two fillings and left with more uncertainty, anxiety, and insecurity about my smile than confidence. 1 am mentally exhausted from the situation and honestly do not even feel comfortable returning for another follow-up. I understand unexpected things can happen in dentistry, but communication, reassurance, and patient trust matter just as much as the procedure itself. Sadly, this experience felt very different from I have still not received my complete unedited video or patient ledger as requested June 2, 2026.

The front desk workers have always helped me if I've needed to reschedule at the last minute and will call when they have a last minute opening. Staff here were friendly but the highlight for me was my hygienist Andrea- literally felt like we were besties we talked the entire time, my dentist visit felt like it went so fast but I had a good deep cleaning with X-rays lasting an hour. Once the dentist came in too super friendly, I booked my six month out appointment for my next cleaning as well due to this amazing experience. I will say so many people have jobs because they pay the bills but Andrea really was passionate about her work, keeping me comfortable the entire time and was so friendly.

I'm a mid 40's male, who, not afraid of many things, but terrified of dentists. I go zip lining, I bungee jumped, I had major surgeries, no biggie. Dentists terrify me. So much, that I haven't been to a dentist prior to coming here in 31 years. Yes, 31 years. After my teeth were looking not healthy, and one tooth was hurting, and the fact that I have a young one and need to be an example, I finally started doing research and vowed to get my teeth done before the end of this year. I have learned about conscious sedation, which basically they give you an oral sedative and supposedly you won't care if someone decides to work on you with a chainsaw. I was sold. I just had to call and find a place closer than Charlotte. Also, no offense to those giant dental chains like Aspen Dental, but I needed reassurance from a local, small office. I loved the fact that there was one hygienist, one dentist, and one assistant. I cannot go to a place that is like a DMV and expect that personal touch. I called around, and I was speaking with Roslyn, in this office. I explained how I am likely the worst dental patient of all time and my phobia. She was very calming and said that the dentist here, Dr. Thorner, practiced in Kentucky for many years, and was a great, experienced dentist who is one of the few who are allowed to do conscious sedation. I even looked up reviews from his Kentucky practice. All good. I made my appointment. I was told to come in on Friday to pick up a prescription for my sedative. It was a generic that I had filled at the local CVS for $3. (I have private insurance and your results may vary). I was told to take 1 pill two hours before my appt started, and bring the other pill in to take when I arrive and MUST HAVE A DRIVER. I recruited my wife to be my driver that day. I was reassured by Roslyn today that I had nothing to worry about, but 1 pill in, I was truly calmer than I thought. I was called in by a woman who took Xrays. So far so good. The thing I hated most as a kid was sticking that instrument in each tooth and seeing if it was good or a cavity because when a cavity was discovered, I almost jumped out of the chair. Not here. The Xrays told the whole story. Fortunately, though I avoided the dentist for so long, I had minimal cavities. He decided before my cleaning, to numb me up and fix the cavity.. He just non chalantly said let me fix this quick before your cleaning. Now I know the pills were working as I basically responded: "sure, sounds good". Non-sedated me would have made a break for it. I notice he numbed my entire mouth, not just the lower section of my left jaw where the cavity was found. I didn't even feel him give me the shots as he was kind of jiggling my cheek as an old grandma would. So, now I'm sedated, completely numb, and I meet he hygienist, whose name was Florinela. This woman was kind, patient, and most of all, an artist. She was meticulous and brought my smile back to life. From what I remember ( the sedative must have had an amnesia like effect as though I was there for a few hours, it felt like only minutes) not only did she use what seemed like a commercial strength water pik, but also that instrument to scrape the plaque. I just sat there in la-la land and let her do her thing. When she showed me a mirror of my "new" teeth, I was in shock. My smile, which rarely comes out due to the embarrassment of my teeth, was actually, nice! She erased over 30 years of neglect in one session. I cannot thank the team effort of Roslyn, Dr. Thorner, and Florinela enough, and that is why I sat down today one of my rare vacation days to spread the word of this amazing office. I have a follow up in a few months. I am no longer afraid and like a kid with new sneakers, I have been trying to keep my teeth perfect as I have been fanatical with brushing, flossing, and using a special Listerine-like wash that is helping with some gum damage caused by my long absence from the dentist. They told me we need extra dental work and all I had to pay was $19.00 out of pocket. Well, since they cancelled my appointment due to being short staffed and it went into another calendar year. Then insurance would not pay and I was left with a bill that was not what I agreed too. They never answer the phone and have a lot of turnover with the staff. They charged me $50 on top of my insurance that would typically cover an entire appt (I didn't even SEE the dentist), saying it was a "special" cleaning (there was nothing special about it, and I have clean teeth!), and told me I needed to come back another day to "finish the appointment." My hour time slot wasn't even over. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Although they were booked out for a month, when I called with tooth pain, they managed to fit me in the very next day. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in good hands. The staff was warm and welcoming, and Dr. Nick Ruggiero was an absolute delight. He was not only professional but also incredibly genuine, which immediately put me at ease. He took care of my tooth pain with ease, and then spent time going over a treatment plan with me. What I appreciated most about Dr. Ruggiero was that he took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns, and made sure I felt comfortable with the treatment plan before moving forward. By the end of the appointment, I was excited to come back for my next appointment - something I've never felt leaving a dental office before. Second the office manager is rude, condescending, aloof and dismissive. Third I had made the appointment with Dr Ruggiero to go over a dental situation that several dentists were at odds over treating vs not treating and I was simply there to get his opinion. I had given him/his office all the information ahead of time AND brought it with me, but they still weren't prepared and Dr. Ruggiero blew it off stating that he would look at the things I sent after I left! The whole point in me sending them was so that he could view them and then look at my mouth to compare! The first frustration was the fact that Dr Reggerio was late for our appointment which he then rushed through telling me he didn't have much time to talk to me even though HIS tardiness cut into our appointment time! The only call I received from their office after that visit (for a separate issue) was to ask if I was going to allow them to make me a mouthguard which was astronomically expensive compared to other practices and when I said I couldn't afford it (because I don't have health insurance and had just lost everything everything in a flood which they also knew about ) I got dismissed! They completely ignored the most important time sensitive reason I was there for a potential tooth abcess that another doctor stated had spread into my sinus cavity and could kill me if it wasn't removed immediately yet nothing about that at all! Fast-forward almost a year later I get a notification from a collection agency that I owe them $420! No itemization of the bill whatsoever just $420 after spending under 20 minutes in his office with no clear direction on what to do about my potential tooth abscess which was the most important reason why I was there! I called the office to speak to the office manager about the collection threat and she was extremely rude, condescending, aloof and dismissive stating that "the doctor had to speak with another doctor about my case for 3 OR 4 hours"! First of all it's one or the other not "OR"! Second of all I know this to be a FALSE statement because I know the doctor he spoke with BRIEFLY very well, and the conversation did NOT last HOURS, it was MINUTES and he took that upon himself to do without having any discussion with me about pricing ahead of time. When I calmly tried to address all of this including the collection notice with the manager, she completely ignored the facts and continued to lie about the charges and then hung up on me after stating fight it with the collection agency when they were the ones that sent it to them in the first place and had the authority to withdraw it knowing full well they are being dishonest about the charges! If they do not resolve these charges, I will take them to small claims court and gladly pay the $75 fee because no judge will award them the rest of the money knowing it was a fabrication of time and bogus charges which I will have proof and witnesses for. I would definitely not go to this practice because A. You will put your health at risk and B. will get treated unfairly/rudely and C. they will greedily exaggerate the bogus charges, ghost you then threaten you with collections!
