Stopped here randomly on the way to somewhere else for a late lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy and we got to sit right away. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I had the fish and chips which was fresh cod and perfectly beer-battered and cooked. The house chips were good, but the onion dip they made was phenomenal. Cole slaw was okay. My wife has the Rueben sandwich was also amazing. And our nephew had chicken fingers which had a nice peppery batter. All good. But the best part was the Irish Cream Cake. It was a secret family recipe and I totally see why they keep it a secret. It would definitely draw me back here. Moist cake, chocolate syrup and a gooey center that was to die for! This was a nice little find. We came here off a recommendation from a local. It was later in the evening and we had not had dinner and just wanted a quick but good dinner. This was perfect. It was not crowded on a Thursday night at all. Just a few people. Which was fine with us. We sat ourselves in a booth in the middle of the room. Told the server that we had never eaten here what is good. She said wings which were on special Thursday. And the burgers and corned beef. We both opted for the corned beef and got the rueben sandwich with pub chips and French onion dip. Let me just say, the French onion dip is homemade goodness at its best. The chips are very crispy and the dip is cool and flavorful. I could have ate a vat of it. The reuben was good. Meat was lean. Good amount on grilled bread. Sauerkraut was good too. And they have a homemade 1000 island dressing. This was a great find. The place is an old pub. The tables and bar are worn. Old Guinness posters hung up and Harp sign. There is a giant fireplace on 1 wall. When you walk in you can smell the fire. Parking is right outside. Service was nice. Prices were good too. The only downside which I knew the answer before I asked was - can I get the wing special to go. I thought I could buy some for lunch the next day. But you cannot. The special you have to buy and consume there I guess. Not sure how to-go orders would work then. Anyway I was denied. Personally I don't see what the big deal is. In this case they would have sold another meal and up'd our check total and I would have a good lunch. It's a win-win. Regardless we will be back. read more

I've been a resident since 2019 and this restaurant was my very first in the neighborhood. My daughter had saw that the restaurant had pretty decent reviews and she recommended it we went in. We were greeted very friendly. I wasn't sure what to get. My waiter suggested the burgers. I had a taste for corn beef so I got the blarney, it was the hamburger that I wanted and also the corn beef that I wanted it was delicious and so were the homemade potato chips and the coleslaw was excellent. I had two takeout orders since then which was recently 2023 and it still had the high standards From my very first order I will certainly consider being a repeat customer. The food is good and the people are very nice and it has a nice old time feel to the restaurant as I am a senior citizen. The best way to describe the food I guess is "comfort food". We had several different meals and it was ALL good. My Chili was excellent. Burger was very good. Son said his fried fish is some of the best he had ever had. Wife life the Shepard Pie. The dessert called "Irish Cream Cake" is delicious! It was just like being in a real Irish Pub. Great local pub in Garrettsville. Very friendly staff an patrons. Smithwicks on tap makes everything better. They have a decent selection of other cervezas as well. I had a reuben with fries. The sauerkraut and corn beef were perfect. Sean's Pub and Slim's are in the same building. I think the delineation is they are on separate floors. No matter, it was a great experience. That includes some of the best wings I've ever had. I've tried many of their flavors. All were good. The honey siracha and hot garlic are among the best I've ever had, especially served traditional style. The chicken quality, crisp and moist, is also really good, a key differentiator from some other places. But don't get this confused as just a wing place. They have a big menu. My dad loved his wrap. My girlfriend liked her salad. They have deadly garlic parmesan breadsticks and beer cheese dip. And they have some incredible wing and drink specials that make this place a particular bargain. Omg, this place is just too cute! I love the tiny fireplace, the outdoor patio & the woodwork throughout the building. I purchased there Smithwick's Beef Au Jus & could not get over this new twist on a classic French Dip. The french fries on the side were perfectly crispy & delicious as well. My mom ordered The Pub Club , which is huge!, and was equally impressed. The menu also has some unique items such as, the sweet Guinness burger & Guinness garlic steamed mussels! Had a fun afternoon at Sean's Pub today catching up with a buddy, watching a ball game, and enjoying great food and a friendly visit with staff and fellow diners. Can't say enough good things about the place. Great time! My wonderful experience here was tarnished by one minor detail. Midway through my sandwhich (the western burger is delicious, totes recommend!), in come a couple jokers who proceeded to rant at staff because the dinning area isn't large enough to accommodate every member of their massively large clown posse. I hop on the interweb this evening and LO! These jackwagons had the nerve to complain! Anne H, you and every other member of your farce, listen up. The staff at Sean's was nothing but professional and kind to you. I listened as a friendly bartender calmly told you that it just wasn't possible to accommodate a group of so many individuals. You and that schmuck you were with were nothing but rude to the poor girl. Shame on you! Please race back yellow brick road to the circus you came from, and on the way stop to see the wizard who will, without doubt, give you many many doses of RESPECT, something you clearly lack. You could have put a blind man inside that dinning area without his cane or seeing eye dog and he would have been able to tell in half the time it took you that the room simply isn't large enough to accommodate the extremely large group that you spoke of. To Sean (if the owner of the fine establishment's name is indeed Sean), Bro you gotta be proud of the kind and professional staff you have working for you, they deserve the highest praise! Today I decided to try a new place, and found this gem here in Garretsville. I got coffee, Shepherd's Pie and a salad. Everything is great, including the atmosphere. Went to Nelson-Kennedy State Park and decided to stop in town to grab a bite to eat and a drink. Must say this is a pretty cool place. It's actually a few bars that are all interconnected. Everyone from the staff to the patrons were very respectful of COVID-19 precautions. Excellent selection of adult beverages and food. Great location with other places in the area to check out. Make sure to walk across the street to check out the elevated walkway behind the buildings along the river, VERY cool. Had a great time and will definitely be back. read more
