I saw a comment or two stating long waits, docs going between patients. It must have been their first time at a dentist. EVERY dentist I ever went to has multiple patients at the same time and as everyone knows how painful toothaches and the like can be, Dr. Pete will not make you wait to make appointment. THAT is a caring medical professional. Dr. Pete has been my dentist for a pretty long time now and I have no intention of going anywhere else. I wish I could give them 6 stars! The insurance company says they're still under contract and have to accept it and they'll call them. Ultimately they agreed to take the insurance but wouldn't give my money back for 3 weeks until they got payment from insurance. Then tried to only reimburse the difference. The dentist is constantly in and out working on multiple people at once and they've cancelled multiple appointments over the years. Just a Bad business these days. Lost a long time patient.

Very Disappointing Experience - Will Not Be Returning…read more This was my first visit to this office after switching dentists. I had to wait approximately one month for an appointment. The purpose of my visit was to have my tooth examined/scanned and to have a filling replaced. I had previously received fillings from my former dentist and had no issues with that treatment. Since I recently moved to Suffolk County, I decided to switch to this dentist. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The doctor came in and, within approximately two minutes, told me in a very rude and dismissive manner that she absolutely could not perform a filling on the tooth. She stated that the tooth was not a good candidate for a root canal and recommended having the tooth extracted. She also stated that even after the extraction, the adjacent tooth could potentially become loose and might also need to be extracted. When we explained that the tooth had previously been filled by my former dentist and that the filling had recently come out, the doctor responded, in a very loud and disrespectful tone, essentially saying, "Then go to that dentist. I'm not doing it." I understand that a dentist may determine that a filling or other treatment is not appropriate. However, the way this information was communicated was extremely unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. Patients should be treated with respect and spoken to in a calm and professional manner, even when the recommended treatment is extraction rather than a filling. Initially, we were also told that there were no treatment options and that there was nothing she could do. Only after we specifically requested medication for the infection and pain did she prescribe antibiotics and ibuprofen. I will not be returning to this office and will be looking for another dentist. I hope the doctor takes this feedback seriously and improves the way she communicates with patients in the future.
