Absolute waste of time. Fridgerator/freezer thaws and refreezes. Tech took a thermometer to check both were at correct temp and left. Never checked anything else. Not fixed and out $126 and day of work waiting for this appt. read more

Horrible experience all around. Parts were on site within 10 days of diagnosis of the issue. First appointment was a no call, no show. Second appointment cancelled a half hour past estimated arrival time due to over scheduling the techs. Third appointment Tech said he was about to leave because no one answered after the first knock. He was 20 minutes early! Over all the experience we've had with Sears Home Services, Assurant, and Lowes with this set of washer/dryer is unbelievable. Less than three years old and already 3 washer fixes, and 1 dryer fix. A absolute hassle every time as well. 10 out of 10 do not recommend any of this companies. read more

Waited a month for the correct parts for our washer. Work was supposedly done, tech said it couldn't be used for 24 hours to let the seals set. Waited the recommended time, washer has new issue. When the boys dismantled the washer they missed a safety switch on the door, it won't start. And the service call folks on Saturday, felt it wasn't their problem and couldn't get me anyone out or escalate it till next week Friday. Never again would I use their services. read more

I've never been a buyer of service contracts, but with more smart appliances hitting the market and the technology going into these appliances, I figured it was time to protect my investment. The contracts can be expensive and left me with remorse, that was until I needed service. Pros: I'm lucky, my service technician, #3232, is fantastic. He's meticulous, informative and shows a true concern about the issues at hand. He provides recommendations on how to make an appliance more efficient in the way we use it. Advisers better cleaning techniques to keep our appliances running top notch in between annual maintenance inspections. Unfortunately, we've had some failures with our appliances and has required repairs. Due to the cost of labor and parts needing replace, this service contract has more than paid for itself. As an example, our 2 year old Samsung refrigerator had an an issue that could not be repaired. Sears gave us a very generous credit to purchase a new refrigerator to replace our Samsung. No hassle, no hoops to jump through. I received an email that I took to a Sears retail center, gave it to the associate, picked out the refrigerator we wanted and it's being delivered and installed in 3 days. I'm definitely a happy consumer and my experience with Sears and their service agreement has been great. Cons: Only one, the call center/number that is used to report issues and/or request service can be a little frustrating at times. It's not the diagnostic questions, it's who's asking the questions. Some of the service representatives are difficult to understand. In one instance, I had to hang up and call again to get a different representative. Though the call center can be a challenge sometimes, my overall satisfaction and experience with this service is very positive. read more

The end product was completed with my refrigerator now working. The timeliness is another story. From the time I called in for service to the time of completion was over 3 weeks. Thank heavens I had another fridge in the laundry room to rely on or I would have cancelled the whole procedure and bought a new one. After a serviceman came out to assess the problem a week went by to to get parts. Then when he came back the parts that were sent were not for my particular refrigerator. Two weeks passed before new parts arrived and installed Finally, I had to be home from a time span from 8 to 5 as given to me for their arrival. Would never recommend Sears repair company to anyone. I would give zero stars if I could. We paid $600 to have my mom's furnace repaired. 3 weeks later she has no heat. We call about the 90-day warranty and they tell me they can send someone out in 5 days. Her house is 60 degrees inside. She's elderly. She lives in Green Bay. I will be disputing the charge on my cc. Do not use Sears. They are fraudsters and do not honor their guarantee. read more

I scheduled an appointment for service for 7/14/18 with an arrival window of 8 AM- 5 PM. The service tech, Craig, arrived at 5:40 PM. Craig diagnosed the problem and wrote the estimate, just under $300. He was unable to take payment because his computer was "down" and said he would call on Monday to take CC# over the phone. On Monday I hadn't heard from Craig as of 3 PM so I called him and gave the information. He said someone would be in contact to schedule the repair. After one week, because I was not contacted, I called Craig. Craig stated the office "lost" the paperwork and I would have to call the office to reschedule to have him make the repairs. I called on 7/20/18 and attempted to reschedule the appointment to have Craig come to fix our refrigerator. Because of the language barrier, and the inability of the call center to leave their script, an new estimate was scheduled. I called and emailed to attempt to have it corrected and finally called Craig for help. He had Patty in your office call me.I received a voice mail from her stating that she checked with the techs, and "no one had any recollection of the 7/14/18 appointment" She said I had to get a new estimate. Upon receiving the voice mail I immediately called Craig. Craig said she never attempted to call him an stated she was lying. Craig gave me his employee # to give Patty when I called back. I called Patty, informed her of my conversation with Craig, gave her his employee # and asked that he be scheduled for the repair. She backtracked and took the information and said she would send Craig out. He seemed to be the only one who knew what was going on. I was told at this time the warranty department had no record of the warranty I purchased at the time of purchase and it happens all the time. My new appointment was 8/6/18 (I have not had a refrigerator for almost one month!). I received a call that morning from Ron stating he was the tech and would arrive around 10 AM. Ron again diagnosed the same issue, this time the repair was close to $700.00. No one could explain the difference in price, no one could find my warranty. I called Patty later, and asked why Ron, was there instead of Craig, why the estimate was more, and she extremely rude and condescending, she should not have contact with customer. She said there is nothing she can do. I purchased all new appliances from Sears after a remodel, I spent over 10 K. I have Sears lawnmowers, Sears tools. I am what most consider a loyal customer, the treatment I received explains why Sears as an organization is so close to complete failure. read more

Mine was not a good experience. A person needing repair does not know until the morning of if it will be in morning or afternoon. First guy diagnosed the problem and ordered the part (on a Frigidaire purchased from Sears 14months ago) but when repairman #2 came a week later it was discovered that it was a different problem and a fan motor was ordered. 8 days later, repairman #1 came back and found that the motor did not fit even though it was the correct number, and even worse, he could not get the correct motor. He was on the phone with Frigidaire a long time. He said he would refund all but the diagnostic call and I had to get a new refrigerator. Parts are not overnighted and customers have to wait at least a week for repairs and then not know the time the repairman will arrive until that morning. That does not work for me! Stay far away from SEARS when making expensive purchases and DO NOT expect them to honor their expensive Service Protection Plans. Sears has been running me around regarding a repair to my lawn tractor. Customer Service Reps have been rude, unhelpful and out-right lied to me regarding this issue. Sears will not honor the Service Protection Plan I paid for on my lawn tractor and I currently cannot cut my grass - I essentially have a $3000 paperweight stuck in my yard. They scheduled a service appointment then cancelled and rescheduled then did not show up. When I called I am told they will not honor the Protection Plan, plan on cancelling it and call me a liar. The first and only repair person to come out took one look at the lawn tractor, said I neglected it and it would not be repaired. The lawn tractor had been checked/serviced 2 weeks prior, had gasoline AND oil in it, but when we went to cut the grass, the gasket blew, leaked the oil out and blew the engine within 30 minutes (we got some grass cut). They think they can get away with this poor service and avoid repairs because I am a woman and they think I don't know the first thing about engines - they are wrong. My son went to mechanics school and I have assisted him and my father rebuild vehicles, changed the oil and filter on my lawn tractor, cleaned the spark plugs - I am no novice or idiot. I did NOT neglect my lawn tractor, but Sears is neglecting their obligations. I guess I will have to get an attorney. Poor service this time around and I am highly disappointed. read more
