I travel more than 40 minutes to shop in this particular Caro store versus the one I have in my own town. The young lady that helped me (Sydney was her name) was very knowledgeable and wanted to make sure that I received everything that I came in for. Buyer beware..... If you purchase off Sears .com, pick your large order of a snowblower up at the Caro store and it doesn't run. You will not be able to return it to the Caro Store. I would think twice before making any large purchases at the Caro Store! read more

I have always liked Sears brands, Craftsman and Kenmore especially, and still shop there, but have had a few bad experiences lately at this particular store. I remember them being very courteous and helpful a couple years ago, not sure what's changed. My wife & I went in prepared to make a $2000 purchase- both a gas range and refrigerator while they were on sale. I was thrilled when I saw the store price on the stove was $100 less than the online price, and the refrigerator was the same. We are doing some work in our house, so we opted to put them both in Layaway for a few weeks to hold them at the sale price until we were ready for delivery. Then they told us they would not do layaway on the refrigerator as it was a clearance model. Explained other Sears stores didn't have a problem with this, but it made no difference. We ended up walking out. Called another Sears store, no problem at all with layaway on a clearance fridge. Ended up doing the layaway and buying both online without a problem. I then recently bought an air compressor, and discovered it had a bent up non-functioning pressure gauge. I had purchased it at another Sears location, but just wanted to exchange it. This store would not allow me to exchange it with a receipt even though they had plenty in stock. I was told it had to be done through the original store. I ended up driving 45 minutes away to yet another Sears (in Saginaw) where they were happy to do an exchange for me without hassle. If I have a choice between supporting this particular local store and another or online from now on, I will not be picking this store unless they get a change in attitude and management. I would be surprised if they keep enough customers to stay in business much longer if things don't change here. read more
