What everyone says is absolutely true!…read more Chuck's Marine has been a staple in the Bay Area for decades, earning a stellar reputation for value, quality, and meticulous attention to detail. After hearing so many great things, I finally decided to have my 2001 Catalina 380 serviced by Chuck -- Damn! Why did I wait so long?. Chuck had previously worked on my boat, and it was clear from the moment he opened the engine compartment that he knew it inside and out. Dates of previous service, repairs, and replacements were clearly marked in Sharpie across the engine, transmission, and other components -- demonstrating his thoroughness and memory of the boat's history. During the service, Chuck was able to recall all past repairs and nuances the boat had experienced, which gave me great confidence. He spent the entire day performing a comprehensive service, including oil, fuel, transmission, and water filter changes, water pump repairs, alternator electrical checks, and thorough inspections of the transmission cable and steering quadrant. We also created a detailed list of everything that had been completed, as well as future recommendations for the boat. Before starting, Chuck was upfront about options for where and when he could work on the boat, as well as clear about costs and parts. This level of transparency and professionalism is exactly what every mechanic should strive for. I'm now officially a regular on Chuck's annual maintenance list and highly recommend his services to anyone in the Bay Area!

I charter my boat 7 days a week and relie on Chuck to make sure I am good for another 6 months. The only bad news is he is always busy so needing assistance in short order is not possible. I've always appreciated the prompt billing with online payment options, the responsive communications via email and text, and seeing their thoroughness in action when I happen to be at the boat during a service. That said, Matt and FastBottoms really proved themselves to me this week. When my cherished boat was slammed into by a sailboat while docked in San Francisco over the weekend, Matt was one of my first calls. He made time to dive the boat and to brief me on the condition of the hull post-collision. Excellent service, true professionals, great communicators, and there for me in a moment of need. Can't say enough good things about Matt and his company!

The diver was on time, professional and explained his process. I was looking for one particular item that had fallen off my boat from a past storm while moored in my slip. Unfortunately I waited months before calling (I didn't think it would move once it sank to the bottom... boy was I wrong). Although they didn't find what I was looking for they did a very thorough search of the bottom around my boat and then some. Their price was fair, and all aspects of their customer service was better than expected. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if a need arose.

A nice guy -- or so we thought -- but once we signed the contract he NEVER marketed the boat as agreed before signing with him. In fact, he NEVER MARKETED IT AT ALL but he essentially forced us into selling the vessel to a client of his "associate" ... this after letting the boat sit for 3 1/2 months while catering to the whims of his "potential buyer" and NEVER SHOWING IT TO ANYONE ELSE!!! Since we had moved to Europe and were not there to monitor everything we were unaware that he never even put up "for sale" signs on the vessel for over two months or until we phoned him and were outraged with that knowledge. He changed the locks WITHOUT OUR AUTHORIZATION and then a boat neighbor told us he had seen someone on our boat KICKING BACK AND WATCHING THE LARGE SCREEN TV AT NIGHT!!!! I mean, maybe someone was living there for all we knew!!! Because of his constant lack of communication and the fact of NO MARKETING we were nervous wrecks for 3 1/2 months while he let the prime selling months of summer pass so his one potential buyer could go on an EXTENDED EUROPEAN VACATION -- while he just left us dangling. From our nerve wracking experience we would advise potential boat sellers to go elsewhere if looking for a reputable boat broker.

Clint the electrician and woodworker fix up some of the shady electrical systems from the previous owner and replace with a proper switch, nicely installed and also fixed the engine instruments. Excellent work. Alex was our project manager. He consistently kept us updated on what was happening, what new things had come up, our options etc. There's an excellent store onsite for everything DIY while there. All in all the work was on time, went well and everything was great.

**REVIEW FOR SAUSALITO LOCATION**…read more My recent, and rather extensive, experience at KKMI Sausalito was truly top notch. I purchased a boat out of my local area and wanted to accomplish some significant refit work before relocating it to Southern California. The entire crew at KKMI was professional, knowledgeable and just great to work with. They worked hard to stay on schedule and and maintained excellent communication throughout. It's a boat, so there were a few last minute surprises but KKMI managed them well, making sure I did not miss my departure window. Thank you to the entire KKMI team (with special thanks to Project Manager, Mitch) for making a large project as stress-free as possible and delivering a quality result that was proven out on the 400nm shakedown trip home.
