The manager responded to their negative reviews including their full names, home address and ages from their Drivers Licenses. I spoke with Amelia, who the front desk says is the hotel manager (she claims that she is a member of the management team), and she said that the review made it past google, so clearly this isn't a problem. She offered no apology and confirmed that whoever was responsible was still employed there.

You're by the water and it's a quick 10 minute walk to the beach (when it's low tide). They have paddle boards, kayaks and you can even go on the pontoon when it's high tide. My husband, sons and I had been going to the dunes for 8 years as returning customers to our cottage at the dunes. it was what everyone in our family always looked forward to. Both of my sons could not wait to take our yearly family trip. it was our forever spot, where we envisioned our family generations going every summer. When my oldest went to college he would still come to the dunes, even flying from his internship in California out to our yearly two week dunes vacation because, yes, it was that special. I can't understate that it was an absolutely magnificent place, untouched by corporate greed, a little family operation. The only thing to mark the property was an un-assuming wooden sign, small and simple but well done - just like the dunes. if you went fast enough on the bustling touristy road you would miss it. beyond the threshold of pines that shield your view to this little ideal world, are incredible ocean views, simple little cottages, green grass, and lots of space, it was a simple little paradise. the dunes was simple, elegant and already expensive. now imagine 2x the cost and you get the idea. what used to be around 8,000usd for a two week stay ( and a full kitchen) is now around 20,000$ (with no kitchen)........ absolutely insane. whats more disappointing is the rebranding of the property as some luxury cottage getaway when the original architecture and entire feel WAS ALREADY MORE GENUINE than this rebrand!!! The whole idea of the dunes cottages were things are simple, like going back in a time machine, units aren't about new interior renovations and luxury finishes. its about time to connect with family outdoors, get away to a simpler time and remember what truly matters. shame on new ownership - truly commercialism at its finest. Well done management, you lost an 8 year returning client, and just know, we have since visited and this place lost what made it special.

And staff helpful and friendly, management is super attentive and handle any issues immediately and professionally! Pools/hot tub were sparkling clean as was the entire resort . There is a gym, fitness area pickleball tennis shuffleboard and playgrounds. The entire resort is beautiful and impeccable. This far exceeds any hotel in the area. I highly recommend and we will always come back and stay here from now on.

Bedrooms were upstairs but the stairs are so steep, and under the roof pitch you have to crouch down to use them. Bringing luggage up is a nightmare. Top railing around the stairwell is extremely wobbly and unsafe. Barn style door fell off in the night (no stop on it). Wiring is stapled with all metal staples (not to code in our state...). There is a door at the bottom of the stairs, that can be hooked shut - god forbid if a fire broke out and the door was hooked. Cleanliness was fair. Not suited for anyone with children or mobility issues. I can't believe it passed any kind of building or fire codes - Never again.

We stayed in Room 3 on the 2nd floor Plus: Bathroom in the room, unlike some of the other rooms that had private bathrooms, but had to run across the hall to access it. Large room and bathroom Downsides: Very bright, very early in the morning. The curtains couldn't be pulled down so I resorted to eye masks. Also, the floors of a house as old as this are understandably creaky so expect noise from upstairs. For $150 a night (the larger rooms - the smaller rooms are less) including a great breakfast in the morning, this was a great stay. Only caveat is that it's a good 10-15 min away from the 1, so on a holiday weekend, that can eat up a bit of time. Enjoy!

The winter rental we are staying in is simple. It has a living room and two bedrooms. In the summer it sleep up to six people if you use the pull out couch. I know they also has a first floor one bedroom unit with a king size bed, a very small efficiency also with a king size bed, and at least two other apartments. There is laundry on site for a fee and off street parking. Overall, a great short term, fully furnished, rental location.
