The rooms are spacious and well-constructed, with a mini kitchen, sitting area, bathroom, bedroom, outdoor shower and attached private porch. There's a nice gas fireplace, which was great later at night when it got cooler, and even separate heating for the bathroom. They even deliver breakfast to your door every morning. It was such a great home base for our week in Kennebunkport - can't wait to come back next year! read more

Okay, so it's not TERRIBLE, but I likely wouldn't stay again. I'll list the good first: Fireplace in the room is nice. Outdoor campfires are great. Walkable property LOVE the beach club and cabana service The shuttle to the beach is great and usually fast. Fine customer service when they are available. Nicely decorated. The reason I'm giving 3.5: Front desk closes at about 11pm. Room service was the most vile food I have ever had. They would be better off not doing room service at all. It was lukewarm and portioned for a child. See videos. The beach is overly family friendly, to the point where you can't even drink on the beach. VERY noisy road next to the treetop cabins in the front. All of the products they use (toiletries, sheets, everything) are all very cheap. The hand lotion is like water -- for like $1200 a night. Turndown service comes at 5pm. Our tv was broken. Overall, this place is not worth the cost and I think the term "resort" is a stretch. I listened to the TikTok hype. read more

Ok so, this is the second time I have stayed here and while many things are good... for the price it absolutely isn't worth it. Good: -shuttle to the beach. fantastically clean and quick - earth dinner is very good (don't bother for breakfast) -being able to text the front desk is nice Bad: -TBH there isn't that much to do..... so a "resort" is absolutely a stretch -stayed in a tree house with our friends (4 of us total) and would repeatedly call the front desk for water... for them to only bring two bottles. -the pastry drop off? seems nice but they would leave one canister of coffee for 4 people and then 2 pastries cut into quarters - the pool... omg don't even get me started. they only have "service" for a limited amount of time so then you have to awkwardly go into the restaurant in your bathing suit if you ever want a drink after 3pm. they NEVER keep the towels full. I would frequently see the spa staff come out and take the pool towels and then there would be none left. Other patrons would leave the pool for the day and no one would come pick up their leftovers plates and cups... you would come down and not know where to sit because everywhere had dirty dishes... -no batteries in the tv remote . they wouldn't replace them for hours. - ordered a charcuterie board (in advance for a specific day and time), and it never arrived. texted the front desk and they said oh sorry.. working on it ... arrived an hour late and it was the saddest excuse for a "charcuterie board." For 5 people, it was a couple slices of cheese , couple croutons , and a handful of grapes. Not excited to get the itemized receipt to see the cost for that lol Overall, I am not sure where the price tag comes from. read more

Beautiful, cozy, and relaxing spot. I stayed here for my 40th birthday with my husband as a getaway for 2 nights the beginning of May. The season was just beginning and the grounds were back in action. The pools were even open - but too cool to use. The property is easy enough to walk around and you can also rent golf carts and bikes. The room was stunning (red spruce building) with a lovely screened in porch and elements of nature brought inside. The s'mores and fire pit at night was so cozy and early in the season it was not crowded - yay! We have 2 young girls and they were love it in the future - the prices are just too expensive since during peak season... only downside. Otherwise, absolutely stunning!! read more

You have a choice of renting a home...or a bungalow....and either is spectacular. There is nothing in either that doesn't provide everything you need for a wonderful and memorable vacation. We love the adult pool....it's 5-star restaurant Earth...and the overall get away from the madness Hidden Pond provides. Quiet resounds! This was our 4th visit and I'm sure we'll return. Everything is amazing- the rooms are so clean and cozy, the grounds are peaceful, the staff was 10/10- I probably texted them everyday and they always responded right away. The bungalows are very private feeling. Earth restaurant is great. The spa couples massage room is dreamy, see the pic. Pastries and coffee delivered to your door every morning . The best nature stay in the woods while still having the beach option at the tides inn, so close and a very cute beach hotel. Also close enough to town. I want to come here every year, I'm obsessed. Ok where do I begin. This was such a great relaxing experience. Unfortunately we had rain a bit while there, but our two bedroom cottage was very nice. The bikes were great to get around. The service was excellent with exception being lag times to get things delivered (milk never made it). Kenneth was attentive and kind. We enjoyed smores by the fire and engaged in jovial conversation with a chef who was in town for the taste of Kennebunkport event. We ate around town, at Earth (yummy)and also cooked in the cottage (lobsters - make sure you buy crackers for claws). Turn down service every night is optional. We really did enjoy this break from our norm. On another note the cottage can use just some simple tlc with screens. We will be back and looking forward to it!!! read more

My family has been going to Hidden Pond for several years now so it holds a special place in our hearts. Every summer we look forward to our experience here as a getaway from our busy NYC/Chicago lives. We have witnessed first hand the growth and expansion that has taken place here. On our first visit, there was no Earth, Tree Spa, or dinner trolley. And now, here we are, hosting the most amazing wedding on the The Farm and The Event Barn. Our wedding took place in early June 2013. This review has been the hardest to compose because we cannot convey how grateful and appreciative we are for all the help, coordination, and hard work from the entire Hidden Pond staff. There was simply so much to love. All our guests had the most wonderful time and could not stop talking about the amazing setting of Hidden Pond. It was incredible to get to share Hidden Pond with family and friends who had traveled far and wide to celebrate with us that weekend. The ceremony and reception were arranged perfectly and the service was top-notch. While the entire staff was beyond expectation, Janice was our main point person/coordinator and did a truly exceptional job. The food was superb - thank you Chef Justin, people are still talking about the delicious Down East Lobster Bake and several have even indicated that it was the best meal they have had in recent memory. We couldn't have asked for a better venue then Hidden Pond, and a better staff to help host our wedding. We are so happy and in awe of a dream realized. read more

I'm pretty sure this is the nicest place you will ever stay, even though I don't know you. The cottages are fully equipped with every amenity you would want or need. The kitchen is a full size with an island. Compete with pots, pans, plates, toaster, dishwasher , soaps (Mrs. Meyers) etc. There is a fireplace, board games (scrabble & monopoly), robes, fuzzy flip flops, a washer & dryer and a gorgeous outdoor shower connected to the master bedroom. The beds are SO comfortable that the first time I stayed here I ripped the sheets off to find out what type of bed it was (Sealy Perfect Sleeper with pillow top) and then bought it for myself because it was what I imagine it feels to sleep like on a cloud in heaven. I have only stayed in Hummingbird and it is beautiful, with an outdoor screened in porch, BBQ an living room with a fireplace. There are daily activities like outdoor yoga on the lawn (great class!), hiking, mixology classes and rides to Goose Rocks Beach. There are two pools, one of which children are not allowed in. Even as a crazy, stressed out New Yorker, you can't come here and NOT feel relaxed. It is meant to be an oasis of relaxation and serenity. read more

A true, unique 5-Star experience! BEAUTIFUL, HIGH-END LUXURY, OUTSTANDING, & PRICEY. The entire experience while staying at the Cottages at Hidden Pond is incredible...top notch...certainly one of the Top 5 experiences we have ever enjoyed. From the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave, the service is outstanding, the location is tranquil and heavenly, and the amenities are excellent. Exceedingly zen-like, nestled in a secluded area in the heart of nature, with a great town (Kennebunkport) less than a ten minute drive away. We came here as a party of six (three adults and three young children) for a couple nights as we were touring the Maine coast. The cottage we stayed in (Periwinkle) was fantastic...two bedroom, large kitchen and living room, great beds and bathrooms, and a fun secluded outdoor shower under the trees/stars, as well as a rocker on the front porch and a screened in deck overlooking a wooded, gorgeous "private" forest. Their are two pools on site (on for kids/families and one for adults only). They also have schedules every day for fitness classes, kids activities, paddleboarding lessons, etc. And every night they light a bonfire and pass out fixings so you can make your own smores. Great place for families, but also a perfect destination for a romantic getaway. Staff: friendly, helpful, informative, kind and charming. Cottage: extravagant and cozy; very well decorated and equipped. And easy to park in the little drive way in front of your cottage. Food: I am a bit torn here. Breakfast (which is brought to your room every morning) is simple and great (muffins, fruit and quiche, as well as coffee). Dinner at their restaurant "earth" is sensational - very high end and top quality. We ordered dinner room service one night, and it was below average (cold, small portions, low end bar food). However, that was the solitary issue on an otherwise perfect stay. Overall...an outstanding, 5-star experience. I recommend to all, and we will be back! read more

Such a wonderful, quaint resort! My husband and I stayed here for a weekend as we were invited to a wedding that was held at this resort. The property is very tranquil and secluded in the woodsy outdoors. We stayed in a one bedroom bungalow that included a screened in front porch/sun room and a small sitting area inside with a cozy wood fireplace. Everything about our bungalow was so intimate and romantic- definitely great for a couples getaway. In the morning we had coffee in a hot thermos, as well as warm delicious croissants and the New York TImes waiting for us outside our front door. It was such a small touch but really made our stay that much more extraordinary. Each bungalow/cottage has it's own parking space which is also extremely convenient. There are 2 pools on the property- one is specifically Adults only and located next to Earth restaurant and the spa. Unfortunately I did not have time to experience the spa but did dine at Earth for lunch & cocktails and it was delicious. I recommend their lunch lobster roll! The Adults only pool is very tranquil and has a couple cabanas and lounge chairs to lay out on. The pool is medium sized, adequate enough to do laps in. FYI there is no lifeguard on duty. The other pool is kid friendly and I only happened to pass by it upon check-in (pool is adjacent to The Lodge where the front check-in desk is located) but it was loud with lots of kids enjoying themselves. There is also an additional bar located at the back of The Lodge with a wonderful bartender who makes great cocktails. There is a fire pit in the back of The Lodge that they light up every evening but unfortunately the conditions weren't great the weekend we were there so they weren't able to light it up. Another bonus- they make s'mores at night!! If the fire pit is closed, just ask the bartender and he will light up the indoor fire place at the Lodge where you can make your own s'mores (which they provide for you of course free of charge)!! Such a great late night snack (especially after having a few cocktails :) The resort also has free bicycle rentals- beach cruisers for both adults and children. The bikes are located near the entrance of the resort and we got 2 the first day and left them in front of our bungalow the whole weekend and just biked around the resort and also to Goose Rocks Beach (which is about a 10 minute bike ride). They do not provide helmets but I felt fairly safe biking on the main roads to the beach- there are a ton of bikers out and the cars don't speed down the roads because of this. If you do bike down to Goose Rocks Beach and get tired, just head over to Tides Beach Club (their beach-front sister property) and someone from there can call over to Hidden Pond and have the driver pick you up. We did utilize the driver once for dinner at Tides Beach Club (also a good place to dine at) and he picked us up and drove us home after dinner (5 min drive). Overall, we had an a amazing time at this charming resort and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have a quiet, serene vacation. It was definitely worth the $$$ and I would definitely come back. We have been here twice since they reopened after the pandemic. The treetop cabins are magical. Service is amazing.

We are luxury travelers and travel internationally and domestically multiple times a year, staying everywhere from mass affluent properties such as Four Seasons to private islands. We reached out directly to the General Manager at this property twice about an upcoming stay and she didn't respond to either email. Beyond disappointing, and would recommend the property find a more responsive GM. While Maine in general isn't the place to go for true luxury experiences, we enjoyed much better service at the Inn by the Sea in Cape Elizabeth and at The Cliff House in Ogunquit. We'd recommend these properties over Hidden Pond. read more

My wife and I went here for a quick weekend getaway - we love New England and hadn't travelled to Maine together and we found this place so we went! Overall, we were very please and wouldn't hesitate to go again. At the outset you need to know you will pay a lot to stay here. It was worth it, but not entirely. Let me explain: 1) The setting was idyllic. In remote woods just outside Kennebunkport, it couldn't be more peaceful and serene. The "rooms" are actually like homes. Some smaller bungalows and some larger family style houses surround the property and you feel like you are staying in a little neighborhood. The ground are well maintained and the associated buildings are great! Each of the houses have outdoor showers which were awesome! Also every morning you are delivered fresh pastries and coffee! Nice touch. 2) The pools were nice...but we thought there should be a jacuzzi/hot tub, especially for the cooler evenings/night in Maine. This would be a nice touch. 3) The front office staff and concierge staff were helpful, friendly, and nice. 4) The food service staff at their restaurant, outside of restaurant hours, were not nice or helpful to "hotel guests". Along with this, the food that we were served from their restaurant spaces, was not great! For the price we paid for the food and to stay there, this was disappointing. Especially because Earth, their restaurant, is fabulous. But it is like they treat their restaurant and the food for the "staying" guests as two separate things and they are not the same quality at all. read more

This place is BEAUTIFUL! It's a resort that's quite zen-like and I would highly recommend this place if you want to be somewhere peaceful, remote and truly relaxing. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was a short stay (2 nights) but we enjoyed every minute of our time here. Check in process was simple and easy and they let us know the various aspects of the resort we could enjoy. Right next to the reception area is their farm which has home grown veggies and flowers--which you are free to clip and enjoy. This was such a huge bonus for me because I never get to clip my own flowers. There is a little shed in the garden that has baskets, vases and clippers and even gloves to help! I clipped some flowers for our room! Also on site is a bar, a tree spa, the restaurant earth (check my review for this) and a lodge that has a connecting pool, a bar, the concierge and a bonfire where you can make smores at dusk. Our cottage was extravagant but cozy! When you enter, there is a closed in porch with a daybed and a sitting area with beautiful view of the woods. The "living room" had a fire place, a couch, two armchairs and a little bar area complete with a huge mini-fridge, a sink and even dishes and silverware! The bed was like sleeping on a mountain of clouds! The bathroom was huge with a modern shower and there was even access to our own personal outdoor shower. The ceilings were vaulted and there was a woodsy chandelier too. Also a convenience was that you can park in the little drive way in front of your cottage. The staff here was super helpful and friendly-any time we bumped into a staff member they always said hi and smiled. The concierge even helped us make dinner reservations. I stayed in "Firefly" for a week. It was positively enchanting. I thought I would be stepping out the door onto a dock on Lake Placid. The decor is sweet and homey yet uber comfortable.....nothing "low-brow" about it. Beds so comfortable I could've slept forever. The morning delivery of juice, muffins etc was great but whoever delivered it slung it on the hook so it rattled against the wall and woke me up. Sounds snobby i know, but if I am here to pay big bucks and chill I don't want to be woken up unless I WANT to be woken up. Staff is amazing, amazing. We had a great dinner at Earth last night with some friends and tonight are staying at HP in an awesome cottage - 45 - with generous space. My wife called this place "heaven on earth." That's a huge compliment, as my wife has a problem staying anywhere without the words "Ritz Carlton" on the sign. We both absolutely fell in love with this comfortable, cute, yet hip resort. The photos don't do it justice, believe me. The cottages were well appointed and professionally designed and decorated. Comfortable bed, AC, gas fireplace, fridge, flat screen TV, indoor and outdoor showers, living area, patio - a literal dream. Sat around fire pit after dinner and met interesting guests. What a fantastic time we had! This was top notch. My boyfriend and I got a living social deal and splurged a little for a weekend in October. With the leaves changing and the weather still nice, we were in paradise. The bungalows are beautiful. We spent a lot of time just lounging around the bungalow and on the premises reading in the sun room and enjoying the scenery of Hidden Pond. We even played a game of Scrabble (board game was in our bungalow) by our fireplace one night and felt like we were really escaping the hustle bustle of our usual week days. It was beyond relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We rode our bikes to goose rocks beach and relaxed there before heading into Dock Square. Highly recommend Hurricanes at Dock Square for dinner. Every morning breakfast, coffee in a thermos and the newspaper was delivered and hung in a picnic bag on our doorknob. Although we didnt get a chance to dine at Earth, we heard it was fantastic. Yay, we found it at hidden pond and didn't have to use kids college tuition or retirement funds. Hidden pond is insanely fabulous. High end, top notch, worth every penny. This review is for the Tree Spa at Hidden Pond. My boyfriend and I booked massage therapy appointments while visiting Kennebunkport and staying at The Kennebunkport Inn. The spa far exceeded our expectations. The therapists were kind and welcoming, the rooms beautiful and peaceful and the massage itself so relaxing. I didn't want to leave this amazing place!! Just got back from a weekend of life in the Tranquility bungalow that exceeded all of my expectations. My boyfriend and I arrived on Friday evening and checked in at the main lodge with their awesome staff - You can immediately tell that they love the place and that they want you to really enjoy your stay there , they were so courteous and very helpful. Our bungalow was perfect. The perfect amount of space & perfectly designed and decorated. Our living room was rustic and cozy and complete with a gas fireplace. The bed was so comfortable and even the bathroom was completely up-to-date and gorgeous. There was a small kitchenette arranged in a large bookcase - and it was stocked with homemade granola, yogurt, orange juice (tasted freshly-squeezed), milk, tea and coffee. We also had a screened in deck with a chaise lounge where I sat reading a book, and a bistro set where we ate breakfast in the morning. (Also notable, there was a flat screen TV - and an outdoor shower that we did not get to use because of the brisk weather this weekend) It was so peaceful at Hidden Pond and they really do provide the most relaxing experience. Breakfast is delivered to your door each morning at 8am (I was actually so excited about this that I couldn't sleep-in in the morning, waiting for it, haha) There was hot coffee in a thermos, fruit and breakfast pastries each day! YUM! plus, they send the days issue of the NY Times. There are bicycles for use on the property, and walking trails through wooded areas. There are also multiple heated swimming pools. They have fire pits blazing every night and at the main lodge they invite you to make s'mores each night at dusk. We dined at the gourmet restaurant, Earth, on the property (which was delicious, and another review in itself) one night, and the other night we went in to Kennebunkport for a dinner in town - only fifteen minutes away. Other amenities that were available but which we did not have time to indulge in because our stay was so short were - Yoga classes, guided hikes and kayaking tours and a treatments at the spa! I want go back. ASAP. We found a deal to stay here on Living Social which was valid for the earliest part of the 2014 season, and the weather didn't exactly cooperate with us (rainy Saturday) but I would love to return during peak season to take advantage of everything they have to offer and you should too! Review for Tree Spa: I had a lovely facial and experience at Tree Spa last week. I wish I had booked a second service and lengthened my stay. Tree spa is very private and quiet, and tucked away behind the pool area. It is tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. The hotel/cottage portion of the resort looks great too and I hope to try when our kids are older. Would love to come back and try Earth for dinner too - I wish they had lunch offerings. This hotel has very nice grounds and rooms. The adult pool is very nice. The earth restaurant is fantastic and they serve a great breakfast! This hotel has the potential to be amazing, but the service is not what you would expect from a resort as nice as this. There is nobody at the pool to serve you drinks. And the entire waitstaff seems to be clueless, they did not know the hotel had a fitness center or even where the bathroom was in the restaurant they work in. Yoga was very nice in the morning, but we wished there were more activities on the grounds. A nice hotel, but not sure if we are dying to go back. read more

If you didn't like this place, I'd question whether or not you are human because it's pretty magical and amazing on all levels. First the location, it's kind of non-descript from the main road. There's a sign but I'm not sure I would know it was there or what it was, if I weren't specifically looking for it. I love this about it! All of the cottages and bungalows are set back in the woods, giving it a very private and secluded feel. Upon arrival you will immediately feel welcome. The staff is great. They are warm, friendly, inviting, and helpful. We had a great conversation with the reception staff-they gave us the calendar of events, made local lunch recommendations, and invited us to the nightly campfire for s'mores and adult beverages. This is a unique spot for Maine because it's truly an ideal retreat for families with children as well as couples trying to get away for a relaxing time. Not many places can accomplish this lofty goal. There are plenty of activities for kids, plus you are close to Goose Rocks Beach and can use the facilities at their sister property- theTides Beach Club. And then there's the stuff for just adults-the spa, the adults only pool, the quiet space of your screened in porch. I came here with my husband in the height of the season and while there were lots of families here, we still felt very relaxed. We stayed in a bungalow that was definitely larger than our first apartment in SF. It's decorated in a style that I like to call Maine woods chic. It's a good mix of classic, modern, and rustic. There's an outdoor shower. There's a screened in porch. There's a fireplace and sitting area. They provide you with coffee, tea, water (still and sparkling), and a mini-fridge. There's a welcome gift in your room. We were celebrating our anniversary and they had a bottle of prosecco and two whoopie pies waiting for us when we arrived. The towels were shaped in heart-shaped swans.They have room service and turn down service. They deliver hot coffee, pastries, the newspaper, and daily events calendar every morning right to your door. They offer daily yoga classes, complimentary use of bikes, daily crafts and activities for kids, and a variety of other rotating activities. It's a cozy, relaxing, and luxurious spot. And yes, you pay for the amenities and service, and it is totally worth it. Plus, you can walk to Earth for dinner and you'll want to eat there because it's delicious and such a great dining experience. I can't wait to go back! read more

Had a great experience over three days: quality cabins (outdoor showers, nice linens, NYT, coffee and baked goods brought every morning around 8a), very quiet (there are separate pools for families and adults, which is brilliant since, not having brought our kids, we enjoyed the quiet of not being around other peoples) and beautiful setting, uniformly very good service. Restaurant (Earth) was fabulous, and the short bike ride to their sister property on the beach means you have the best of both worlds - quiet and plenty of space at Hidden Pond w/ excellent beach accommodations a mile away by bike (or shuttle). Everything everyone has said previously is absolutely true... Secluded, private and yet close to everything. Individual private cottages, beautiful screened porches within a forest setting, outdoor showers with great water pressure, your own fireplace... What could be better! Wow, this place is fantastic! Romantic and quiet, tucked in the middle of the woods, with perfectly appointed rooms! Pictures don't do justice. The room is spacious and comfortable( especially the bed!). We loved the outdoor shower. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, quiche, pastry, and delicious coffee, placed by your door promptly at 8 am. Staff is friendly and helpful. We can really "do nothing or everything" as they have daily activities. I tried the yoga and it was very relaxing. Time didn't permit to try other things, like hiking and paddle board. Next time for sure! I regret not trying the massage, the reviews from everyone I spoken to were stellar. The restaurant on the premises, Earth, was the best I ever had, and I'm picky. We also tried their sister property, Tides Beach Club. Great spot for cocktails on the porch. What else can I say.... Just go. You won't regret it! We plan to return next year. read more
