We called ahead and spoke to Parker who kindly pulled step color samples from the yard. This was so helpful as we are matching a competitor stone color to Unilock. Afterwards, we walked through the front parking area which has loads of paver combinations. Helped us see color combinations, textures, and shapes in person versus the catalog. Absolutely worth the two hour round trip drive.

We had our landscaper bring samples to the home to match our brick, and make the final decision. Once Unilock sent their product, we were concerned with the color, stopped the project and were told to deal with Unilock Manufacturer Rep, who advised us that the stone would change colors once exposed to the elements and the initial residue removed. We started the project again on the good faith that Unilock represented. Unfortunately, once the project was done, it was not Desert Sand, even though Manufacturer Rep sent us pictures of other projects using Desert Sand (which did not look like ours at all), and someone came out to see our project and advised us it would change colors in 6 months or so, but would not put that in writing. And at that point, they did not follow up with us even though we were unhappy customers. Their claim is customer satisfaction, but they did absolutely nothing to satisfy us, and we are now left with very very gray pavers, against our orange brick, instead of the beige ones we thought we were getting. #1, #2, and #3 pics are Unilock Desert Sand -- See picture #4 and #5 to see end result of our project.

We got in touch with this local company as we were looking for quotes for a backyard fence (to keep…read moreour pets secure) and they were able to meet and exceed our expectations. They quote was reasonable, scheduled promptly, all the info was clearly presented and the prices up front. There was no guess work. Then Fence Spot did an awesome job with the measurements, took a template of the existing fence, made fence to match existing, and hauled away the defunct chain link fence and wooden posts that we had on the property that were in the way of the new fence installation. When there was an issue, we promptly were contacted (our sprinkler system was not marked, so predictably, the sprinkler line was damaged in the diffing process, which could only be prevented if it was marked beforehand). This possibility was outlined in the estimate we received, so not the company's fault at all. The posts were installed promptly and set into concrete. Once they were done, Fence Spot came out again and installed the rest of the wooden fence and it looks great! It not only keeps our critters in, but it looks aesthetically nice too. Out of all the estimates we received, I would only recommend the Fence Spot. They have a showroom too, which is nice - just go and look at all the samples. I was really impressed with their responsiveness and customer service. Would hire them again.

We recently hired Eric Kowalski and his company, Earth Concepts LLC, to replace a seawall, replace…read moreand enlarge walkways and patios, and create terraced planting beds on our property. The job was begun with great energy and the actual hardscape is acceptable. We did, however, experience several problems which appeared to be the result of Eric leaving the state, with multiple week long absences while work was underway leaving inadequate supervision. At one point our job was interrupted so that Eric and his crew could do another nearby job despite Eric's initial assurances that he would have his crew dedicated to our job from start to finish. There was improper attention paid to landscape grading, which resulted in the height of some of the concrete being raised in order to properly cover the base layer of stones under our limestone slabs. This change, in turn, negatively affected the transition to two separate sets of stone stairs which had been previously laid. Lack of attention to proper grading also played a factor in severe drainage issues which became evident after job completion. Multiple passages with heavy machinery carrying heavy loads over inadequately protected ground created a shallow bowl shape which was not corrected prior to laying new sod. Water was unable to drain from the heavily compacted soil and pooled in the "bowl". To make things worse, our gutter and downspout drainage system was not adequately protected from heavy machinery being driven over; nor were all the damaged drainage pipes replaced and connected. This, combined with the bowl shape that was created by the heavy machinery, resulted in a serious drainage problem. The drainage was so poor that the grass in the affected area could no longer be cut due to how boggy the soil became, and even our neighbor had difficulty cutting their grass near the property line due to excessive water accumulation. Prior to commencement of the job our drainage system was independently evaluated and found to be in good working order. The existing condition and location of our underground drainage pipes was discussed with Eric prior to beginning our project. After project completion Eric was advised of drainage issues and sent out a crew who only partially corrected the problem. I contacted Eric again advising him that we still had a significant drainage issue and he responded that he would stop by to take a look. We currently live in the same neighborhood making that a fairly easy task. Two weeks passed without any contact from him. My husband and I wound up hiring another company to fix the numerous problems Eric and his crew left us with, having arrived at the conclusion that they were unable and/or unwilling to fix the problems. We spent $4000 to fix their unfinished work. As if all this wasn't enough, upon learning that we had hired another company to fix these multiple issues Eric responded by informing me that "Now that another company has modified our work all warranties are void".

The crew worked very hard in very cold weather and even some light rain, from morning until dusk. They were very good at what they did and even corrected thing they found not working correctly.
