Immediately greeted upon walking in with a smile and cheery face. The woman at the front helped me pick out a tanning package, and recommended a great plan for some sunshine. My husband and I wanted just a few tanning sessions before an upcoming trip, but we will continue for some sunshine to help us get through the winter blues. If you need a spray tan done right, this is your place! The owner does it by hand and she makes you feel like a star by the time you leave her place. Just got a spray tan from Carrie and it was such a great experience - especially since I waited til the last minute and showed up when she was finishing her last appointment for the day. She still took me in right away and I'm so darn happy I decided to go for it because it looked amazing. I did it for my wedding and now that my husband sees the pics, he wishes he did too! Moving from the South, one of the first things I needed to find was a place to keep my tan up during the winter months. Oceana Tanning is close to Marshalls and Mizu Japanese, which are both really frequent stops for me. So I decided to stop in and see their prices. The employees of Oceana Tanning Salon are so accommodating! Not only do they give student discounts, but they also give military discounts! I started out by buying 10 sessions in Level 1 beds. With 10 sessions I also got a choice of a free bottle of lotion! Unfortunately, I am not getting the tan from the beds I used to get in Memphis (Palm Beach Tan). I'm wondering if the bulbs are due to be replaced. I mentioned it to the woman working, and she let me upgrade for free to see if I liked it more. I know many people have rated this establishment highly and I am happy for them that they had a better experience than I did. Carrie and her husband Dan are very sweet people and I do not want to hurt their business by speaking g badly about it but honestly I had a horrible experience And I just don't want anyone else to go through what I went through this past week. My daughter got married last Saturday snd I went in for a spray tan. Carrie recommended the "express" tan and Carrie kept saying "I promise you that you won't turn orange!" And guess what? I definitely not only turned orange but their express formula grabbed a hold of every single freckle I have and made them stand out like a sore thumb! My fingers and hands and feet and toes turned bright orange and copper and I had to go back in and get remover applied which barely made a difference. It was a time consuming process of Carrie apologizing the whole time and it didn't work. It is now 5 days later and I keep hoping this will fade but I have orange freckles all over me. I NEVER should have tried a new tanning salon before a special event..I completely admit that..so my recommendation is try this place before an event and trial the different formulas. I was really put off by their employee named Tanya. She was abrupt and firm with me on two occasions and you don't want to tangle with her I promise. Too pushy for me. Carrie shared some personal stories more than once with me...once was enough..all I wanted was a spray tan honestly. I won't be back because they need to warn people about the possibility of giant orange spots and that "everyone's PH levels accept the formulas differently" (as Dan put it when I called on wedding day) BEFORE you get sprayed rather than after you turn orange. Could be it was me but I've had spray tans and not had this outcome. I wish I could post photos but don't see a way to do that here. You wouldn't believe it.
