First, they have the biggest frame selection on the north coast, so we were able to find frames we really liked relatively easily. Owner is super friendly, professional, and knowlegable. He's a pro at vision insurance and sorting out how to make sure your order is covered. On site eye exam as well. I got an eye exam and ordered glasses. I yelped for all of these and have found great professional contacts to keep me healthy here. Allen was very thorough with the eye exam and I feel confident that I received great value for the price paid. Well, where to start? I have been wearing glasses for now 47 years - and I have never been treated so remarkably well from a provider. I did not get my exam here - wish I had, frankly. The exams here run $75 USD, a full $65 less than where I went (I did not know of Seaside, then, or I would have gone then - most expensive exam I ever had, and I usually get full scleral fitting exams.) As to Patrick - so very accommodating... I was terribly late, thinking Seaside was in fact where Bayside was, and ended up a full hour late because of it... he fit me in at the last minutes, and was incredibly helpful to boot. Their prices seem to run about an even 30% less than the competitor I went to, fully articulated options for quality/functionality - but that isn't even the big point... there is also a 2 for one sale (at least the week I was there, and another reviewer mentions it as well at another time), for the base pair, I still had to pay for upgrades like lens type/coating, etc - which he even comped one upgrade for me (incredibly kind) for my second pair I was getting as an intermediate/closeup progressive for a pair workstation glasses specifically designed for my close-up/high detail work. Literally an over $500 savings on the second pair, making the actual savings more in the area of a little over half the cost two pair would have cost me. Astonishing, to say the least.... after checking, my total cost at Seaside was $734 for both pair... my quote was $842 for one pair at the nearest competitor (same options). I like supporting locally owned businesses. I like being a customer, and a neighbor, not a consumer. All the corporate tzedakah in the world can't replace the good magic that happens when we keep our $ in our communities instead of lining the pockets of multinational #shareholders and their #robotoverlords. So imagine my joy when I found Seaside Vision. I called them out of the blue last month. My husband and I are new to the area, and we needed frames and lenses on an extremely tight deadline. Patrick took amazing care of both of us! He moved scheduling mountains to get us in during this weird COVID appointment-only time, and he was incredibly welcoming and accommodating to us in spite of the fact that I'm sure we were a tornado of PITA raining down on his Thursday evening. My family was on vacation, socially distancing, on the Oregon coast last week when both my husbands and my glasses had mechanical failures-lost screws and lost nose pad. Bummer! Saw that Seaside Vision Center had all 5 star reviews so gave them a call. Let me add another 5 star review! Patrick was great! Made a socially distanced appointment. He was right on time. Let us in his shop which was locked. Patrick was friendly and helped us quickly and did a great job. We were on our way within 20 minutes. And he gave us a tip on a shop near us that was run by another member of his family. I noticed that he carries some trendy sunglasses frames. Something to think about in future. Highly recommend! I highly recommend the shop. They are very polite, and helpful with picking out frames. Unfortunately I received my last exam elsewhere and I could not use my glasses. This time I went to Seaside Vision and the difference is amazing! I can actually see now. :) The exam is the cheapest in town, but extremely accurate. I wasn't seeing well with my brand new glasses, and made an appointment. When I explained the problem, I was recommended to get computer/work station glasses, and went with the 10 ft. radius type. They were ready in a week and have really make my life easier. The recommendation was spot on. read more
