My partner and I came here over the weekend after searching several places for an outdoor reindeer. The parking lot is shared by other retails but we managed to get a space. The store was packed and most patrons didn't adhere to social distancing. But masks were worn by all those inside. I didn't really have a bad experience here, I just didn't have a great one! Since my wife and I have such bad luck with real Christmas Trees, we came here and bought a fake one. The place feels more like one of those pop up Halloween shops that you see every September. They basically do what they can to cover up the walls of whatever was there prior, but if you look you can tell, oh that was a petco, that was a walgreens, that was XYZ... That is the feel that you get here. They do just enough inside between the seasons, but it still feels dull. They put just enough effort into changing the holidays... So we came here during covid! We got our tree! But every aspect of this place is so unorganized... The checkout line keeps moving... Sometimes its 1 line, sometimes its 2! Sometimes it goes straight back, sometimes its left or even right! They do have a nice selection, if you need ornaments or almost anything else to trim your tree, or even to decorate our house. Staff is friendly enough. All in all, they probably have what you need to decorate for Christmas. Get in, get out. read more

I went to this store for a new filter because it's in close proximity and I needed something now. I was shocked when they had a very small selection and the prices were high. I looked up the same filter real quick to see if the price was accurate and it was about 3 times more expensive then the one online. I walked out floored by the difference. read more

The place is ALWAYS packed during Halloween season with teenie boopers trying on slutty princess costumes in front of their botoxed up moms....so good luck finding parking. I agree with Rose C. this place was amazing a few years ago when it opened, there was nothing like the selection of their Halloween costumes and decor.....there is a Party City and Party Box in the area and they both seemed to carry the same boring stuff. Yet, as the years have passed and they have expanded the store and even developed a haunted house (which is not bad for the $20 you pay to go in), the quality hasn't gone up, it's just stayed the same. The costumes that are really different are super pricey ($60+) and the same goes for any good house decorations. As a giant halloween fanatic myself, and local, I try to go on random days and hours and early in the halloween season to get first dibs and hope for some inspiration. I would be lying to say I would never return, it just isn't THAT awesome to roam around for parking for 30 mins. read more

I can tell you that the variety keeps on long after the Halloween season is over. The employees are always welcoming, as is the manager. This store is a joke, not only expensive but no one wears a mask, except one cashier everyone else including the manager whom I saw talking to another maskless provider inside the store were not wearing a mask. The five stars I have given State Fair are all for Halloween. From September to October each year, State Fair IS Halloween. Costumes, gifts, decorations, accessories, makeup, music...they have it all, and in a much wider selection (and often, at a lower price) than anyone else around. Forget Party City or any of the other chains...State Fair is the place to go for all your evil essentials and wicked wants. They're open all year round...but if anyone goes there at any other time, it's news to me. read more

This place is a horrible place to shop especially if your exchanging something that was damaged from the store. I unfortunately was preparing for a Halloween party Saturday night and opened my thigh highs to wear and they had a hole in them so I unfortunately couldn't wear it. So I went to the store to exchange it for another pair and the store manager and owner were not allowing me to switch it to a new pair even though it was the stores fault that it was damaged plus it says on the receipt you can exchange your item within 7 days and I got this last week. Worst place to shop during Halloween they are all about making the money and not making the customers happy. I definitely don't recommend you going to the store. They need to replace the owner and manager because they don't know how to do business. I will no longer be coming here because of the bad experience I received. read more

The store have great merchandise a bit over prised. I guess is because it is quite unique. However, I enquire about purchasing an already decorated tree, one of the employees politely responded that they did not sell them like that, another employee interjected "I don't know anyone that would do that" I told her that I know JC Penney, Target, Walmart do that. She became very irate as if my question was offensive. I was clearly willing to pay whatever it took. She did not even want to hear what I had to say and essentially dismissed my request very rudely. I bought and intex filter from State Fair. After 6 days of purchase it stopped working. I didn't think about keeping the receipt as my first one lasted me 3 years. Called and talked to the manager. She gave me so much attitude didn't listen to me. I told her I have shopped at the store for years and never had an issue. She was so nasty and should not be a store manager. She even hung up the phone on me. Thank you for your rudeness. Will no longer shop her and I'm thankful there is another pool store up the road. Horrible customer service!!! Avoid this store at all times for every holiday you need decorations! Their holiday decorations are pure "junk" and their "customer service" is an abosolute JOKE! I recently (about five days ago) attempted to contact the store about an "issue" I had with one of their Christmas decorations and was advised that the manager would call me back.... needles to say, no call was forthcoming! We've been regular customers for quite a few years but now, I'd rather leave the exterior and interior of my house void of Christmas decorations before I buy from these "merchants" again. read more

The store itself is huge, but the selection surprisingly is limited. I went there last year for Christmas lights and yard decorations and I found the selection limited and the prices very high. I have been there customer for years and I purchased a replacement piece for my pool the piece was not working returned it within the week because of my work schedule guy laughed at me and said we ain't taking that back after you used it we didn't we put it in the filter and it wasn't working. I wanted to speak to a manager and he said he wouldn't bring one because its pointless they are not going to do anything different. I have spent way more money for things in that store and for them to treat me like that it shows they lack customer service and quality of products. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS STORE. My parents went into the store in late July to buy an outdoor patio set with a table, chairs, umbrella, and umbrella stand. They picked out a table on display and the store rep sold them the entire set plus a delivery fee of $50 to deliver to it to their house, which was 1 mile away from the store. Total cost with taxes and delivery was $840. Within a month the table and chairs began to leak rust. The rust stained the carpet and deck on which the set was located. I proceeded to contact the store about the defect. After 2 weeks of going back and forth with store reps, they finally were able to speak to owner and the owner said they would give a full refund for the defect. The store manager said they would be picking up the set and then we would have to go in with the receipt to get a refund. The owner sent her employees to the house to pick up the set. I proceeded to go to the store with the receipt to get the refund. THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM BEGAN. The storeowner only wanted to refund my parents $790. She did not want to refund the delivery fee even though they sent a defected table set. She proceeded to say that she was doing us a favor by giving us any refund at all. She mentioned that my parents should've known the table would leak because it is an import from china and therefore it is cheap material. She said and I quote, "They got what they paid for". Insisting that it was a low price therefore it was bad quality. I proceeded to state that my parents did not speak English and therefore when they bought the set they did not know what they were buying because they figured that a store of that caliber would not sell cheap quality items. THE OWNER THEN STATED AND I QUOTE, "WELL THAT IS NOT MY PROBLEM THAT THEY DO NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. I SPEAK ENGLISH." I FOUND THIS TO BE EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I continued to ask if she would refund the delivery fee of $50 since they only delivered it a mile away and the item was defected and now my parents have nothing to show for paying a delivery fee. She continued to say she would not refund the delivery fee and that we were lucky to get a refund at all. Therefore, please be careful and avoid this store at all costs. They do not care about the customer, and they sell cheap quality imported items as the owner herself mentioned to me. The language remark was extremely disrespectful and unprofessional especially for someone who owns a small business in an area including many different languages with many different people who do not speak English. read more

I love this store! I am a Halloween fanatic so I only really visit the store during the fall. I visit several times in October. They have a great setup and the staff was really helpful, the owners are nice and even helped me themselves in trying to find specific items I needed for my costume. The prices for the Halloween products also do not seem as steep as they were in previous years. Yes it gets packed the closer you get to Halloween but that is not on the owners, that is every Halloween store since people wait until the last minute to purchase their costumes. I would not suggest going on a weeknight close to Halloween or mid-day weekend, parking may be an issue. I go to this store every year, and I just want to say, that if you are slow to get into Halloween, make sure to take a visit. I guarantee that you are going to get sucked into the fun and enthusiasm. I'm not sure if the store is family owned--I think it is, but you really get a great feeling when you go in there whether its Halloween or Christmas (which they do like no one else). I think state fair I verry expensive and it sells pieces of junk.once I bought a Halloween sighn and when I opened the lid for the batteries and there was all mold.then I bought 4 sets of lights for 10$ each and when I got home none of them worked. So then I called and talked to the manager and he got all mad at me beacause I called him a lier. I only said that because before I bought the lights I asked him to check and see if they all worked and he said they all worked and he said yes.and by the time I get home and relies that the product that I bought dosent work I always mean to bring it back but I never have the time.so I always get stuck wasting my money on pieces of broken junk. read more

This store is not at all what I expected! They have a lot of costumes and they are reasonably priced, but you can not get them off the wall yourself. Instead, the areas are roped off and you have to ask an employee to hand you one. This isn't such a big deal except when the store is busy. We had to wait 15 minutes until an employee was free to help us. Also, there really isn't much in the way of decorations and those that are there are overpriced. Many of the animated items have dead batteries, so they can't be tested. In particular, there was a spider that I thought I would like to buy, but all of them had dead batteries so I didn't know for sure what it did. Also, a lot of the big ticket items were not plugged in so, again, you didn't know what they are supposed to do. I know a lot of people go to stores like that just to look at things, but I actually went to buy decoration for our house and costumes for our kids. Unfortunately, we left without buying anything. We went to the Spirit of Halloween store and found better decorations and animated figures at decent prices. I'm going to try to go back to State Fair during a weekday to try to get costumes there. They really do have the best selection I've seen yet! read more
