I finally called the number provided in the email and left a voicemail. Someone reached back out via text asking how they could help (?!). I sent them screenshots of my appointment and asked if they had a record...still have not heard back from them. Over the past four years I have had recurring knee problems as part of old age and being rather…read moreportly. My knee surgeon recommended Duncan and his team in Aldie. Their location is convenient and the team is super nice. The patients are really neat, too. As an avid skier I met another skier rehabbing and he was able to provide some information on knee/ankle friendly slopes in Montana. Rachel has been absolutely fantastic to work with over the years, twice post-surgical and once pre-surgical. She encourages me to exercise and improve, showing small tricks to squeak out the last little bit of flexibility. Every degree of movement gets me closer to "normal" and it does take hard work to get there. Also, I don't know much about my musculoskeletal systems and she is happy to answer questions. Like all PT locations they are busy in the AM and may have multiple patients and balance the session between exercise, PT manual manipulation, and stim therapy. I believe all their therapists have their Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While recovery is painful, she finishes off with ice and stim which really helps with the post-PT pain since I try to avoid pain medications. There have been 1 or 2 times that I declined because of work or a meeting but can say that the ice coupled with the stim really makes a difference. My previous PT at Inova and at Herndon Family Medicine did not couple the ice with the stim.

I have a visceral reaction to needles so Barbara was worked diligently to decide which needles were needed the most and altered things for me to adjust. Well it worked. My cycles were all over the place when I first went to her and after 6 months I had an amazing chart with my basal body temp. I felt better and was all around healthier too. And.....about 4 months later I got pregnant on my own at 41 and gave birth to a healthy child (even after being told my only way to have a child was with donor eggs and a surrogate. She assured me that she specialized in the issues that I was seeking help with, including non-needle based therapies. After expressing some slight discomfort with the needles, but assuring the practitioner that I was content to continue the experience in therapy, she stopped. Her reasoning was that she doesn't like people to feel uncomfortable on her table. I laid on the table with what I assume to be half a treatment for about 20 minutes. She then handed me some information for what sounded like a completely bogus nutritional practitioner, and sent me on my way. I am left with the impression that she simply didn't want to bother with a client who was not 100% comfortable with needles, preferring easy, pleasant, and mindless appointments. I'm giving this two stars because she didn't charge me for this complete waste of my time.
