Located right near Pike Place Market, there is very little parking. Inside were the tight hallways filled with furniture. The furniture is very nice. There was not really individual booths filled with things but instead there were trinkets, glass, and ceramics inside of some of the furniture cabinets. More lowly lit with some spaces with low ceilings. This is a very humble size space and is a shop, not a mall for sure. read more

The Seattle Antiques Market is located on the landside by the Waterfront in Seattle. What a gorgeous place. One is surrounded by Antiques covering both the 19th and 20th centuries. I bought a vintage car that is also a radio (remember those days)? They have a wide selection of artifacts and collectibles. I was mesmerized by the crystal pieces. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I would have bought more if I had luggage space to take back home. Felt getting magnetized at this store and did not want to leave. So, after walking around for a while and making my purchase, it was time to leave or I would be attracted to stay. This is a must see place when you visit Seattle. read more

A cool store and have shopped there for decades, always a lot of fun, interesting, and eclectic things....and Ken, the owner, seems like a nice guy.That said, whatever you do, it's fine to buy things there BUT, whatever you do, don't sell anything to them unless you just want peanuts for your treasures. They often sell things, clearly, for 10 times or more what they pay for them, not a profit, a "killing", for them...so if you want anything close to the actual values of anything you have, definitely go somewhere else.Having experienced thus first hand was a very disappointing experience. The worst customer service! How is the owner so rude? For someone who wants business, it sure seems like he hates his life. I mean, he literally sells trash for a living. The staff is rude also. I just walked by the Seattle Antiques Market at about 9:55 in the morning, and there where three entry points; two were marked with "No Trespassing Signs," and one was wide open with an arrow pointing the way in. After taking a few steps toward the entrance, I heard a shrill voice yelling in the distance. It was apparently the owner. I walked over and asked, "When does it open? I see the 'No Trespassing' signs everywhere, but no sign for the business hours." To this, he replied in a particularly nasty tone, "that's all you need to know. I open when I open. I open in three minutes." Well, I said, "Have a nice day" in the way that means "Go F$&k yourself" and walked away. If it were possible to give zero stars, I would have. I just moved to Seattle about two weeks ago, and I've already spent several thousand dollars furnishing and decorating my apartment. My experience with retailers and wholesalers has been largely positive, but when it comes The Seattle Antiques Market, they will never see a penny of my money, and I encourage all of you to also shop elsewhere. It was a huge warehouse with antiques of all kinds everywhere you could look and that was pretty interesting stuff and honestly it's a good place just to kill some time if you're waiting to do something down on the waterfront as well. Certainly eye-opening to see things that grew up with now in the antique stores so that was kind of fun as well . Don't park in store lot unless you want to be towed! We shopped there for about 20 minutes, bought a couple items, left on foot to find a restroom. No restroom available on premises, came back 30 minutes later. Our car had been towed by store owner Ken Eubenk. We attempted to ask why he had our car towed when the lot was almost empty. He was a horribly belligerent, hateful little man. He threatened to call the police several times in answer to my questions. We spent $545 plus $30 cab to get our car back. This all happened within 1 hour's time, this was a horrible experience which I have learned happens several times a day. This antique shop in Seattle is Legit!! Deep in the heart of downtown Seattle, just a few feet from the waterfront, the Seattle Antiques Market is nestled between the Seattle Aquarium and the Pike Street Hill Climb in a non-descript warehouse on Alaskan Way. It's pretty easy to find (with the added plus of plenty of parking). You just need to look for the loading dock jam-packed with all sorts of cool stuff on it--and the giant otter. I stumbled across this place while heading to Pike Place market. It had lots of cool things inside and out, was well laid out. I was traveling so I couldn't buy anything substantial. They have been around for over 34 years buying and selling antiques and collectables! Lots & Lots of things to find and/ or pick. Lots of great finds to be found! Some rare, some exquisite & some just needs some TLC. I found many different things, starting from pinball machines, furniture and vinyl records over pins, bags clothes and old street signs. Such a fun store to visit a person like me can spend hours in here. They have some amazing treasures. I wish I lived closer. They also have a great layout with nice furniture pieces. Even if you're not a fan of antiques, you should definitely stop by the store if you're in the area its totally worth the visit. **They also ship anywhere to the US!** When you're done you can walk up to Pike Place & find some good eats! read more

GRANDMA HAD IT, MOM THREW IT OUT, AND I BOUGHT IT BACK. That is the life of an antique store. Seattle is full of history, thus making antique stores in the area extra special. This particular antique store is across the street from The Seattle Aquarium, and nestled between Highway 99 Blues Club and a Public Storage warehouse. In 1978, I think this store was lost and eventually stranded along Alaskan Way instead of being in the Pike's Place Market area where it belongs with all the other vintage stores. lol. jk. It was fun seeing the different junk, I mean treasures this store had to offer. They had a variety of vintage cameras, first generation toys, old street signs, Playboy magazines and so on. The store is huge, and the selection is endless. What initially drew me into the store was the giant old school Mickey Mouse. If I didn't own a life size cutout stand of Michael Jackson, I totally would have bought that. jk. SIDE NOTES -- Items are little pricy -- You can only negotiate prices with the store owner -- They provide shipping -- Parking is terrible. Not a surprise in downtown Seattle. -- Looking at other yelp reviewers, it appears that the owner is tow-friendly regardless if you are a paying customer or not. The owner clearly likes to disrespect people he thinks he can push around. I live on the Waterfront and have been in this store numerous times over the years with my husband and have always had a pleasant experience. However, I popped in by myself recently to inquire about selling a very small priced item and spoke to someone who was incredibly rude and dismissive to me. I was kind of shocked, so I went back in a couple of weeks later, assuming this may have been a new employee or someone just having a bad day only to again be berated by the same person. Afterwards, I went to their website to look up the owner so I could provide feedback only to realize it was the owner who I had encountered. I can only hope with the Waterfront renovation he won't be able to afford to stay in this space and a new owner moves in that respects their customers AND neighbors. read more

The main reason we went out was to go antique shopping, specifically for a chest. There's a pretty cool antique store downtown right across the street from the Pier and Seattle Aquarium. I noticed it the other day we took the girls to the Aquarium. We found free parking in front of the Antique store and started browsing. There was a lot of old cool furniture. A lot of it reminded me of furniture my parent's had in California and some reminded me of my grandpa's old furniture. Some of the prices were waaaay out of our price range. Rubs liked an old armoire that went for 1200 and an old swivel full body mirror that went for almost 700; she has an expensive taste. The building is an old 6,000 sqft warehouse. It's cold and the smell is surprisingly not as stale as I thought it would be. The store is pretty well organized and clean as far as we could tell. As we browsed around, Rubs found a mirror she really liked, but there was no price tag. This is how we got our discount. Me, "Sir, how much is that mirror?" Employee, "Hmmm...there should be a tag on it." Rubs, "I don't see it." Employee, "There it is; on the floor." Me, "Sheesh Rubs, why did you take it off?" Rubs, "I didn't take it off." Employee, "hahaha...get her! Set her straight" Me, "oh, I will, but at home where we don't have an audience. Last time I hit her in public I got in a lot of trouble." Employee, "There you go, hit at her home where no one sees you." Rubs, "SIR, that's rude." Employee, "I'm sorry, that was rude. I apologize." Of course we were all joking. When it was time to buy the chest we found out that that guy was the owner. We saw 3 chests we liked. Two of them were 325 and one was 225. I liked one of the 325, because it had a second compartment when you opened it. For a 100 bucks more it wasn't worth it. The owner said it was handmade, which it is. I'm not a chest expert, I don't get laid enough to be one, but I know my wood. Okay I just sounded like a fag. I do have an eye for detail, and it does look handmade. Owner, "Did you apologize to her?" Me, "No, of course not; she's my sister; it's my birthright." Me, "Can you bring it down to 200 if we take it now?" Owner, "Who's it for?" Me, [long pause]... "Oh, it's for her." Owner, "In that case, you got it! I owe it to you." [Pointing at Rubs] Rubs, "You owe me? For what?" Owner, "For saying what I said earlier." Rubs, "Well, you don't know if I was one of those abused wives." Me, "Thanks we'll take the discount." I dropped 200 bucks on an old chest, but I think it's worth it. Last time I spent this much on an old chest I ended up learning about class and style; and drinking cosmos on a "Sex and the City night." I like it. I'm starting to get into antique and bargain shopping, and as long as Rubs keeps getting harassed we should do well with the markdowns. Next purchase is a Persian rug. Cross your fingers she'll get called a carpet muncher or rugmuncher. read more
