The prices in this newly revamped charity shop are insulting. The staff are unpaid volunteers, the items are 100% donated and yet the new management is pricing home goods and collectibles as if they are a high end antique store. Several others were complaining too. I was a regular shopper prior to this "reboot" but after 3 visits and seeing these exorbitant prices, I will not be going back in again, or donating. I hope management will return to fair thrift store prices, in order to help the kids and make this a great place for shopping thrift. read more

This 'thrift' store is staffed primarily by volunteers (who are very nice) and they sell donated items (both new and used). Why, then, are they selling their stock at such high prices? Free staff (volunteers) and free merchandise should equal decent prices. But it's ridiculously overpriced, as many reviewers have mentioned. I believe if they had a greater turnover of their merchandise, it would not be so crowded and jam-packed. read more

The store is too crowded and needs a good clearance sale. That said, I prefer to donate by nicer items here. Also, I enjoy browsing the books as their donors are well read and it's a very economical way to read. read more

Watch out...the prices are truly too high. I am a veteran thrift shopper, and though they raise money for a hospital, they must consider who is in need of buying thrift items! The less affluent, that's who. Just forget about any bargain in this boutique. read more

I think if you really look hard and spend a few hours you can find something but the racks of clothing are too jam packed to really see anything and there just isn't enough room to breathe. I don't think its the individual employees that are a problem, its the manager who is pricing items too high and won't let you set a basket down anywhere while you shop, The little handbaskets are too small for clothes and most of the other items and if you have to carry them around you constantly bump into things and people. Today I heard the manager tell an employee "theres a sketchy person in the store" motioning towards a young black man with dreadlocks and baggy pants, she didn't seem to have a problem with another young man in the same area of the store (CDs/DVDs) who had a paler complexion and more conservative clothing. I guess the employee felt obligated after that to watch the dreadlocked customer the entire time which I thought was sad especially when cds were only going for a dollar. Its for a good cause but I think that it can be abused when someone like that manager is in control. Today they had some ladies in from some sort of guild but they wanted $75 for a crib sized baby blanket. Another weekend they had handmade baskets for $69. Those aren't the kind of prices one expects in a "thrift" store. read more

I enjoyed and supported the children's thrifts in the Seattle area for decades, which were all run exceptionally well - but this store is very obviously controlled by a manager who cannot see all the stock piling up because the community cannot support the high prices the store is asking. I found a book which had a bookstore price inside priced by the store for more than twice that original price, for example. But if you'd like to pay retail or higher for donated goods, there are some interesting items sprinkled in among the piles of junk and volunteers blocking aisles socializing. read more

Love this thrift store. Clean, high end designer new & used clothing. I always find a treasure and they often run 1/2 off everything in the store specials & colored tag specials. The employees are always kind & helpful. read more

I love Seattle Children's Hospital but I do NOT love their "Bargain Boutique". It is very strange. Strange items - hello corner of Garfield the Cat paraphernalia and "vintage" clothing that really isn't hip enough for this town. Strange signage - its nearly impossible to see it from the road and the pricing system is confusing. Strange customer service - the number of sales people equalled the number of customers yet I wandered around for 10 minutes with out even a greeting. Strange prices - very overpriced on some items, just ok on others. Strange smell - so this is typical for thrift stores, but for those prices it should at least smell not totally stale and weird! Honestly, if you want to support non-profits that do good work and pay a decent price you are better off going up the road to Goodwill. read more

This has to be the worst thrift shop in town. I stopped by with a friend and upon entering thought perhaps I was going back in time to the 80's. There was a weird Garfield collection at the front of the store. I chuckled and kept going but honestly I dont think there was one thing in the store that was even remotely interesting to me besides the couch I was looking at. It was a nice couch and I asked how much and I was told, ahem...wait for it,,,,,,cough cough.....2, 400.00! Seriously! What the heck! They had some coach purses that were over 100.00. The clothes were all very old fashioned like something someone in their 70's would wear. Book selection was odd as well. The smell was odd in the store, and the store itself is very very small. The prices were very high as well. I know it is for charity but come on. I don't plan on ever going back. read more

I have to totally agree with Yuri on this one. This is the quickest I've been in and out of a "thrift store". It's moderately new because you can still smell the fresh wood smell. I was somewhat surprised by the table of Garfield and Garfield items as you enter. Don't get me wrong. I used to love Garfield....like 20 years ago. I guess it's a table of nostalgia. The general layout is just odd and it's kind of standing room only. There is no selection and what is actually there is not well priced. I don't know why they don't buy the extra space next to Spin Tees and expand so it's not so cramped. I will just say this store is too small to even attempt to be a thrift store. I think they also could have found a better location, especially when Goodwill is right down the street. Also, don't get me wrong about charity. I appreciate what the efforts are going toward, but sadly I won't be back. read more

Although I only buy books (and donate same), I notice their general inventory is higher quality than you see in other thrift stores. This is a smaller store than say Goodwill and more along the lines of the Goodwill boutique downtown Oly. I can't speak for prices on other goods, but regardless, this is a great cause so spend a buck or two more than Goodwill. It won't kill you. Now about those books - The prices are outrageous! How dare they charge $3.45 for 4 books. My God! Talk about price gouging!!! (ha ha). read more

The store is neat and orderly. Some clothes are marked down to only a dollar or 75% off so you can get a great deal on quality or good brand clothes. And your supporting children's hospital. Minimum $5 credit card purchase. read more

This used to be a fun place to shop. Not anymore. The prices are very high and unreasonable. The jewelry prices are insane. The store has become over run with cheap costume jewelry that is priced about 10x what it should be and doesnt sell. Then they wonder why they have no space. Most of thier jewelry is the same old over priced stuff that has been there for years. The jewelry pricer is not doing this store justice. Your way better off pricing it low and making some money for the hospital instead of accumulating a bunch of overpriced junk that doesnt sell. read more

I went in today 7/8/2020 and within the maybe 8 minutes I was there 5 employees brushed past me to get down the isle i was on. Each one of those times there was another route through the isles where they could've easy gone around on. It was at every section of the store. Never once did any of the employees try to stay 6 feet away or go around. I actually found it quite disrespectful. Im someone who would rather not wear masks, i find them stupid, but every employee literally touched me to get by. read more

Great stuff!!! A must visit spot in Olympia. Merchandise changes frequently and you can find some great unusual items. Many high-end items and interesting surprises. Also lots of holiday decorations. Volunteer staff because all money goes to Seattle Children's Hospital. Funds support families from Thurston County who need care for their children. Feels good to buy a fun items and support a great cause. read more

This is a smaller thrift store but you can find a gem and even a bargain if you take a peek once in a while! I like how they have percentage off sales by the color of the tag. The staff is really nice and it's a good feeling knowing you are helping the Seattle Childrens hospital! read more

This thrift store used to be so interesting, now it has a pretentious atmosphere & has items that are priced really high for plain old used clothing and odds and ends. Plus, what happened to the nice women that used to volunteer in the store ? I walked in yesterday and they were snobbish & watched me as if I were going to steal something... ! Ugh, I won't go back. Prices have gone surprisingly high for badly dated higher end clothes and kitchenware. Used to be a fun store before it went 'boutique'.

This is a great place to find quality items at low prices and the volunteers are always friendly and helpful. And the biggest plus is that you are supporting Seattle Children's Hospital who have and continue to help so many children get well, like my grand-daughter Miranda. I love this store! read more

I love this store and what your money goes to, uncompensated care for the children who are at Seattle Children's Hospital. No parent ever has to pay if they cannot afford it or have no insurance. The store has everything you could need or want. Jewelry, clothing, crafts, household goods, and especially great new items that come from different corporate donations. Every day is a new adventure. The books are also varied and well organized and the holiday items are always unique and high-end. I usually don't come out empty handed. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. I always feel like I'm wanted and welcomed. You can't beat their prices and weekend sales. Their merchandise is never stained, torn, shabby or not worth the money. I hope this store stays around for a long time in Olympia. read more

The prices shop way up since they became a "boutique", but the donations are still frumpy, just shinier in their presentation. The volunteers who run it are randomly kind, patronizing, or rude, and the place is lifeless. Goodwill down the street is a much better bet, any day of the week. read more

Why would anyone spend their time and energy criticizing a Children's Hospital Boutique? How is this helping anyone? All but one of the people in the store are volunteers giving up their personal lives to help children. All who work there put their hearts and souls into the display of the items they have in the store. How did the display of Garfield hurt anyone? Possibly it was on display because of the Garfield Guild that Chad and many others give their time and effort to making money for Children's Hospital. The Boutique is called the Nordstrom of thrift shops. Only the best of the best is accepted. My Woman's Club challenged each other to a Thrift store fashion show for our last meeting. We had lots of fun looking around and trying things on, and the staff was very helpful! 10 members participated, 17 outfits were purchased and $535 was spent at the store. Fun, shopping and doing good in the community. What more can you ask for? read more

Disappointed, visited Saturday, looked at some nice boots. Nice clerk suggested returning Sunday to see what the Sunday surprise sale would be. Returned Sunday. Rude clerk wanted to talk to her friends, unwilling to do a price check or help me. I left store empty handed. I returned Tuesday to get boots at regular price, but they were gone. So rude clerk on Sunday did them out of $55 plus bucks and me without boots. The woman doing displays Saturday was nice, the Saturday and Tueday clerks were nice. So, don't shop on Sunday! read more
