They have a few benches and a sculpture in the middle. It's not that big of space, but a great quick photo opp.

You get a lovely view of the Seattle skyline and Washington Lake. Super gorg! Parking is free along residential streets and it's pretty close to Queen Anne for some exploring and popping around.

Absolutely epic play structure located at Seattle Center. My kids could play here for hours!…read more The Artists at Play playground is both an art installation and a play structure. This thing towers in comparison to most playgrounds. Beware- it's not your average climbing structure. Make sure to help your kids or watch them closely. Some other parts of the play area seemed broken, like a musical-type plaything, and a weird pit with gravel in it that seemed unfinished. These didn't really impact our experience too much though. Overall, a very cool playground in a safe and clean area. Lots of do around Seattle Center too, so you'll be busy before, during, and after your visit to Artists at Play!

The museum Nextdoor has a cafe on the lower level where you can get drinks, food, and use the bathroom. The armory is also not too far away.

Smackdab right in the middle of Seattle, this park is a treasure! In addition to the wide open…read morespaces, trees, and fountains, the Volunteer Park Conservatory and the Seattle Asian Art Museum are also located here. If you want to see a good view of Seattle, check out the Volunteer Park Water Tower's observation deck in the southeast corner of Volunteer Park right on top of Capitol Hill. There's no elevator so be prepared to climb the 107 stairs to the top and be rewarded with 360-degree view of Seattle! There are bars and fencing at the windows though, which does detract a little from the experience. Between the windows are informational signs about Seattle's history. I'll be back to check out the art museum and the conservatory in the future!

Because it's vast and it has so many little (or large) treasures that you find as you meander through the trees and flowers and pathways; there are duck ponds, sculpture, a city reservoir, large pastures, a botanical conservatory, a museum *the Seattle Asian Art Museum. You get the idea. I really enjoy this park every time I visit. Located atop a hill it also offers a lovely vista of Seattle.

It's too crowded for my liking especially when parking seems impossible- either no parking stalls or the stalls are too tight. Since my kid loves the playground I will only plan to come on weekdays or when it is not overly crowded.

This was a super nice park and was perfect for young children and slightly older ones too. The play…read morestructures were big and had a large variety of things, slides, climbing, spinning, ropes, etc. The one for the slightly older kids with the steepest slides had beans puke all over it (not sure how long it had been there), which was super gross, but the park service truck came while we were there and power hosed the thing down. Our toddlers had a great time climbing on the blocks, enjoying the slightly shorter and less steep toddler friendly slides, and the bucket swings.

Woodland Park is more than 90 acres and takes up a few blocks in the Green Lake and Phinney Ridge neighborhoods. A lot of outdoor activities to do here. There's baseball fields, a dog park, and trails. Cool history about how it came to be. It's been around for a long time and the neighborhood pretty much grew up around it. This was originally the estate of lumber mill owner Guy C. Phinney. After he died it was bought by the city. In 1902 it was turned into one of the city's parks. Basically the park has two halves. The eastern half has baseball fields, a dog park, horseshoe pits, lawn bowling, a picnic area, a pitch and putt golf course, a skate park, and trails. The western half has the Zoo. In 1925 a memorial was erected for late President Warren G. Harding. Just a couple years earlier he made a speech here to the Boy Scouts. It was one of the last speeches he made before he died. The memorial was later demolished, and the site is where the African Savanna exhibit is today. Of course there's many animals to check out here. The rest of the park also has many birds as well as beavers and coyotes among other species. Getting here by a bus is a good idea. It's got a few that go up Fremont Avenue and the other streets. The most popular thing here is the Zoo but there's plenty of other things to do here like playing baseball, jogging, and whatever.
