There are a few swings, 3 climbing structures with slides, and a few spinning things. It gets busy around 3 p.m. on weekdays. The bathrooms are pretty decent, and there are a couple of pickleball courts right next to the playground. Around the perimeter of the playground is a woodsy area with wild blackberries. Folks bring bags to pick blackberries as their children play. Overall, a fun playground that will keep your kids entertained for hours.

We took advantage of a recent rain break to visit Rainier Beach's newly opened Lakeridge Playground. We had the place to ourselves all morning! Fairy tale fans: Do you remember how Goldilocks tries large, medium and small chairs before finding the perfect fit? That's how my kids reacted to the new play space. The tallest structure features a net climber with rings, a net arch and a big slide. The smallest structure, geared towards the 2-5-year-old age group, has a climbing wall and drums that entertained them for a little while, but overall was too easy.  The middle structure? The kids completed circuit after circuit of bounding across the jungle gym and then giving the rainbow sensory panel a spin before scaling the tower to wave at me from the top. There are double slides for downhill races, and a roller slide that makes your voice warble on the way down.  This new neighborhood play area is a great destination. Just remind me how much we love "empty playground season". My kids (8 years and 5 years) absolutely loved this playground.

Younger siblings can explore the interactive gears and dials near the bottom or take a turn on the baby swings. For adults: One of the first to have fitness equipment installed, this park has some of the best variety of adult exercise equipment with five stations set close around the playground that include a mix of stretching, strengthening and cardio. Several of the apparatuses allow you to adjust the resistance, and the exercise bike and arm pedal machine are particularly good. Hidden away thin long park. Easily missed if you are not from the neighborhood. Great little park, and it's very well maintained. Free street parking available.

It is some steps aways for the parking lot and playground but not that far. Part of it is under a tree, giving it perfect shade on those hot days. I think there are only 2 benches side by side, but you can always sit down on a concrete part near the pool. In fact, it was the perfect spot when the ice cream truck came on the street behind it and played it's song. We ran towards it. It was the perfect treat for the summer...and by the pool! Great for kids. They even get card now a days :D Very friendly families so kids can play with each other and share toys :)

The…read moreland and house is still owned by family and the Dahl Playfield is a nearby field of choice when going for a walk from the house. When my mom was growing up this was a playfield she visited. In my lifetime, the Dahl Playfield has been a place I have visited for sports and as a place to go and meander and/or play with my family. The playfield is much greener than it used to be, the wading pool has remained the same. The skate park is a relatively new addition. It is not a park where I have felt unsafe in my visits. In my experience the fields, trails, wading pool, and playground have all been well maintained. There is a parking lot where you can park your vehicle if driving to the park on the 25th Avenue NE side of the park. My mom and my most recent visit to the playfield on 23 June 2020 after visiting the Wedgwood house we walked through the park and reminisced about how it has changed over the years. Lots of kiddos when we visited, tis the summer season though.

From climbing to swinging to…read morejumping, all will be enthusiastically enjoyed at this renovated play area complete with new play equipment and climbing structures and one of Seattle Parks' longest zip lines! Surrounded by two large baseball fields and new and improved tennis courts, the Rainier Beach Playfield is adjacent to the community center and now more modern than ever. Your little monkey will love the giant spider-web of climbing ropes, and the new fitness equipment makes working out the wiggles even more fun. Kids (and parents!) will also enjoy scooting back and forth on a skateboard attached to rails, working their legs on an elliptical-type contraption, and scampering up and over the mini-climbing wall. When your kiddo is ready to take a break from all that climbing and jumping, this newly renovated play space is home to two large yellow swinging chairs with chest harnesses--perfect for ages 5-12. Unfortunately toddlers are too small to fit comfortably in these bigger swings, but other swings with updated padded seats are also featured--great for big kids and grown ups alike! Toddlers and waddlers will find the manicured green space in the center of the play area an excellent place to explore. And when your family gets tired of the play structures, there is plenty of shaded green space to relax, kick a ball around or play tag. Nice park, love all the new equipment.

There was a couple spots open, but limited. It wasnt until after 3 pm that the park started to get busier and the park began to pile in. People started looking to park outside of the lots for a spot. Most people tend to park at the bottom lots due to convenience. There is plenty of room at the lot up the hill and nobody was really up here as it was mostly entrances to walking trail and picnic tables. Overall, still a beautiful park!

There is a covered area, a jungle gym like structure, and Picnic areas for family bbqs. So glad they also had a public restroom as we needed to use It on the way out. If you venture deeper into the woods and follow the trails you will begin a maze like adventure full of winding trails. There are streams and bridges and views of the valleys. So nice. Multiple entrances/exits and paths to choose from. Very easy to get lost or turned around. Thankfully that have maps. We forsure got mixed up and had to rely on the maps. We had fun.
