It upset me to see how close our boat and many other boats were to the Orcas. I will never go again

10/10!!!! SO EXCITED I SAW GREY WHALES & ORCAS!!! (&ETC)…read more Based on the reviews we were a little scared to try this company BUT it turned out so amazing! I think people only leave bad reviews when they don't get what they exactly want! Anyway- the workers were so welcoming! The process was very easy from buying the tickets to the end! We got there just in time (not the 45 min ahead like it said) and it was perfect! (Maybe before we were the first boat of the day?) Once in the charter it didn't take long for us to leave. While they are taking us out towards where the whales are... They told us a bunch of stories a bunch of scientific facts and a bunch of tips and tricks! We also saw a bunch of sea life just heading out to the whale areas! (Seals, starfish, birds, fish, jellyfish , etc) The ride was smooth and beautiful- DEFINITELY COLD (even if it's 90F in Seattle)! But the views are beautiful- both of the sea and Seattle!! It didn't take very long to get to the areas but once we did everyone had the same goal - SPOT THE WHALES!!! It didn't take us too long because we got lucky! There was a lot of activity that day! We ended up seeing 6 different orcas and 1 grey whale!! Super fun start to our day and now I can say I saw whales(:

It's a 4 hour tour but most of that time is spent getting to and from the destination where the whales are, which is damn near Canada. When you get to where the whales are the boat slows down and you can only see them from a distance. There's only like 1 or 2 whales and they only pop up for a quick second to breathe and when they go back in the water they don't pop up for another 15mins. The boat stays there for maybe 3 rounds of this. Then it's back to your seats and back to the pier. Dress warm and eat before you go or pack snacks! The food offered in the boat is overpriced! Definitely a tourist trap!

It was a rainy, windy day, but the crew completely minimized the elements by dressing us in heavy-duty gear from head to toe. We looked like we were going snowboarding! The included beanies, gloves, binoculars, and goggles kept us completely warm and comfortable. Take the goggles--you will thank them later! Wildlife-wise, we struck gold. We saw four different types of whales, highlighted by a Gray whale feeding and Orcas chasing a Minke whale. Our naturalist was incredibly knowledgeable and could even identify individual whales by their tag numbers. As a huge bonus, the Zodiac boat was perfect for the members of our group prone to motion sickness. The fresh open air and up-and-down movement instead of rolling kept everyone feeling great the whole time. They even sent us amazing photos after the trip. Truly a professional operation and worth every penny!

We were able to view seals, dolphins, a pod of orcas, bald eagles and a pair of grey whales. A truly unique experience, we highly recommend!

Martin W. was our tour guide on this expedition and he was exceptional!!! Friendly and down to earth and extremely knowledgeable as well. He really did add another layer to this trip and made you feel comfortable and well-taken cared of. My daughter was a little apprehensive about going as she didn't know what to expect, however, this was also the highlight of her trip as well. I truly wish we had more time to explore what Olympic National Park has to offer, however, if you are on a time crunch and are unfamiliar with the area, this is easily the best way to get a taste of the park. In addition, they also pick you up right from your hotel and also provide coffee, drinks and an exceptional catered lunch! After picking us up and taking the ferry across to Bainbridge (a cool experience itself) it's a bit of a drive to get over to the Port Angeles area where we stopped at the Visitor Center, however, there is lots to see and learn on the way. Fortunately the road was open to get to Hurricane Ridge and we got to experience some snowshoeing (first time we had ever done this) and it was awesome! Not too tiring and for those who might struggle you are given the choice to stay back if you had wanted to (BUT WHY WOULD YOU!!!) We then headed down the mountain and stopped off for some sightseeing and another little walk to stretch the legs and then we headed to our next stop. Wish I can remember the name of the place, however, it was an incredible spot to explore as Martin set up for our catered lunch. It was located right next to a river that had some cool atmospheric mist slowly creeping through. There was also an easy little trail which took you through lush vegetation & moss covered trees to a free-flowing waterfall. It was just stunning and honestly you didn't want to leave. Eventually we headed to our final stop at Cresent Lake. Just wow!! The lake had a bit of a moody feel, however, it was just beautiful and the hike through to get there was just insanely gorgeous and just magical. Words and pictures alone can't do this place justice. It's just something you have to EXPERIENCE!!! One of the other highlights was the trip back on the ferry. It offers up an impressive and unique view of the Seattle cityscape all lit up as you relax and reminisce on the day. Truly wish we had more time in Seattle, as I would without hesitation want to book all of the tours that Evergreen Escapes offer and I imagine each experience is unique depending on what time of year you go as well.

We were flying low enough to see the scenery of the area including a good look at the Seattle skyline. There were some clouds so the mountain view was not as clear as it would be on a sunny day. That was an added bonus. Highly recommend this method of travel!

We got stuck in Seattle and missed our original transportation by car and ferry but Friday Harbor Seaplanes came to our rescue. Michelle was absolutely amazing and got us booked on the first flight out the following morning so we didn't waste another moment of our trip. She arranged a shuttle to pick us up at the hotel we booked which was also quite the task as many hotels were completely booked up but we finally found one and Friday Harbor Seaplanes accommodated us and got us to the airport and flew us in to Orcas Island. I was really impressed by our pilot and how well he flew the plane. I was a bit nervous and I tend to get motion sickness and he made the flight very enjoyable and even checked in with me during the flight to see how I was feeling. I felt he took slight turns a bit more slow and careful with me in mind and it was very appreciated. My friend also had her baggage delayed by Delta Airlines for 2 days and Michelle was so kind to try and help us by arranging for the airport to deliver the luggage to them so they could bring it to the Friday Harbor dock on one of their daily flights. Unfortunately Delta was being lame and they wouldn't do it, but the fact that Friday Harbor Seaplanes was willing to help us went above and beyond our expectations. What amazing customer service! I hope to one day visit the islands again and without a doubt I will use Friday Harbor Seaplanes again. They treated us like family!! Thank you! I wholeheartedly recommend this business. They are all great people and do an excellent job!
