Has my head been buried in the sand, or more likely, inside of a string of books!?!?!???? I guess so, because it's like I never really knew that the WNBA even existed (though I did know). If you love sports, and you live in, or near, Seattle.... don't walk.... RUN to the nearest computer, and buy yourself a ticket to a Storm game. You will not be disappointed. Lauren Jackson, Sue Bird, Swin Cash, Svetlana Abrosimova, Tanisha Wright, Camille Little, Le'coe Willingham, Abby Bishop, Jana Vesela, Alison Lacey and Ashley Robinson are AMAZING to watch on the court (and some of them are VERY lovely on the eyes!!!!!!). The tickets are very reasonably priced ($20 can get you 5th row seats!), the crowd at the Key gets loud and pumped, and the team puts on a good show night in and night out. We love the chicken and buffalo strips with fries. Lots going on at the games, which is fun as well. 50/50 raffle, chuck a puck, games on the ice in between periods, etc. They also always have deals for groups, half off tickets night, $2 concessions night, etc. We always look forward to going to games!

Get there early for a seat otherwise you will be standing for a long time. Seating is an issue. Some of the girls are really good, but Rather City Rollergirls are more entertaining. Our tickets were $30 each and came with one draft beer. Due to the alcohol, tickets were will-call pick-up only. If picking up before 6pm then tickets are picked up from the Silvertips office. After the Silvertips office closes then tickets are picked up at the arena box office. Arena doors open 1 hour before the game starts. Free street parking can be found if one arrives early enough. Paid parking is also available. Inside the area, one will find a Silvertips store (military discounts are given here), a variety of food kiosk's, beverage kiosk's (full bar) and several restrooms. Craft beer was $9.50 for a 20oz pour. Drinks are allowed to be taken back to the seats. Overall, my wife and I had an exciting date night for a reasonable amount of money.

What I didn't appreciate was the way that the Stealth management has marketed the sport not as a sport but rather as entertainment. Rather poor quality music is blasted during the entire game along with a shill for the organization doing what he can to have the fans get worked up. The combination is an assault on your senses for 2 hours that frankly, I can do without. So, thumbs up on the sport but a big thumbs down for the organization that feels like they need to dumb it all down in order to get the fans to attend. Based on the number of fans they had...it isn't working. Get smart and market it for what it is, an exciting sport.
