I logged onto the site and was asked for contact details. After going through the initial process I saw that the services were north of $300. I opted out. That generated 2 phone calls from the company at inconvenient times. I later returned the call and left a voice message saying I wasn't interested in the product. The next day I started receiving unsolicited emails from dating sites all over the world. They had my name, picture and email address. Some of the were lewd and disgusting sites. Seattle Singles sells or passes along your contact information to unreliable third parties that blow up your emails with dozens of unsolicited offers. Disgusting. read more

Don't go anywhere near these guys. The information on the website is vague for a reason - they're masking the fact that their service involves an extremely expensive contract ($7k/3yr) for access to an exclusive dating website and singles events (which cost extra). The high-pressure sales tactics are shady, at best. After submitting an online form requesting additional information, I got a call from a woman the next day (the people on the phone are not the people you will speak to in person). She asked questions about my dating history without providing any details about their service and arranged for me to come into the office that evening. On arrival, I had a pleasant conversation in a private office for about an hour, again, focused on my dating experience and preferences. The salesperson then quickly went over the service they provide - an exclusive dating website and singles events (for an extra fee), as well as unlimited "dating advice." Members are required to use the company's photographer for photos, the price of which is NOT included in your contract. She then put a $7k price-tag on the table. But I didn't need to worry about that, because I was immediately offered a discounted price of approximately $1.3k, supposedly because they desperately needed men with my age and background. I still wasn't sure, so she left the office to "talk to the boss" (standard sales tactic). In the end, I decided to sit on it, which I'm glad I did. When I got home I did some research. I found lots of bad reviews with consistent complaints regarding their sales tactics, prices, and quality of service, as well as a court case from 2010, when the Washington Attorney General sued the company (then Great Expectations) for dishonest business practices. The next day, I found they had run a hard credit check on me, despite the fact that I hadn't signed up with them. Yes, I had signed their screening form, but what's the point of running my credit if I'm not actually signing up for their service? Needless to say, I didn't get back to them. A few weeks later, I got a follow-up. I responded by saying I didn't appreciate the credit check and was wary due to the company's bad reviews and checkered history. Her response was to point out it was all legal, and to tell me that they didn't need my patronage because "we have a great selection of guys in your age group." When I pointed out that she had originally offered a discount specifically because they needed my demographic (they took another $300 off in the follow-up e-mail), her entire response was "Well best of luck to you. I hope you realize there's a reason you're single." Yes, dating sucks, but it's not worth pouring money into a company that is rude, extremely expensive, and will still leave all the work of dating up to you. read more

I went to Seattle Singles as a lonely single guy looking for a way to meet women. I have never felt so betrayed and and treated as poorly by a company saying they are trying to help people find love. Specifically Kim the manager once she realized that I was not going to be a sale became nasty, even venomous in her demeanor. I was enticed on the phone with lies that were proven untrue when I went into the office. Please know .. that in Contract Law you have 72 hours to decide on keeping the contract or reversing it, getting a refund. This is Law. I sued this company about 15 yrs. ago for Not refunding my $$$ when I realized their collection of men my age were of low quality. Always beware of predatory high pressure sales.. I loved being apart of this club, The people i have met are wonderful. I found happiness in myself again i am getting out and being more social With the events, which has helped my confidence severely now that i am datin again since my divorce. I'd say at first i didn't have much luck due to myself not putting in the work, You have to Actually put in some work by going online picking members. Once i started looking at member profiles/liking members and attending events i actually started having quite a bit more luck with my age range. Shady business. I caved in to high pressure sales atmosphere, and they got me to hurriedly sign the contract. I realized that I cannot utilize this service because I take care of a dying 90 year old mother at home. She fell ill the same day I signed the contract. As soon as I got home, I tried calling to cancel. The voicemail wasn't even activated. So I emailed. No reply. I called my credit card company to hold the payment; too late. I disputed the transaction, and AMEX said "sorry." I am on Social Security Disability and live below the poverty line. Yet, the business refuses to reverse the charges; they have no conscience. What (compassionate) dating service would have this "cut-throat" mindset? All they care is about the $8,000 contract. I'm stuck with the debt, and will never be able to utilize their services. And the available women are all older than I was told. I have appealed to the business to cancel the contract; I will never use them, so they know they're taking my $4,000 (deposit) simply for the money. If they agree to let it go, I will retract and/or amend this review. If they don't, I will be forced into bankruptcy. EDIT: 1/26/16 The company could care less about anything but a signed contract. If you were dying, and had 6 days to live, they STILL wouldn't work with you. BRUTAL. Their infamous "go-to" line is "No refunds." That's it. They can't come up with a better and thoughtful rationale than re-stating "NO REFUNDS." If my penis were severed off, I'm sure they would still say "NO REFUNDS!" The 20th of Feb I went to point defiance zoo & aquarium. I love see the babies animals an all the different animals in the zoo. Kent bowling was so much fun meeting all the people from Seattle singles. I bowl a very good game there. Love all the girls in the office to I stop by and see them alot and they always make time to talk to me and help me with matches. I have not found any one to even meet let alone date since signing up in 2015, and I paid a huge amount of money.. If you find some one available, then you can not directly contact with interest. You select and then wait to see if they respond. You have no way of knowing whether they do. To e-clip or e-snap I further have to pay more money. Come to find out this place has changed my life completely! I was told that there would be professional women in my age range, ease of access to the websites and matches to women who I would actually want to date. And to my surprise, that's actually what happened!! I have to tell you, the events they put on, the video and professional photographer they used, and the knowledge of each member they have has made this the most personal and caring path towards finding that special someone and I've already went on 7 dates!!! The effort put forth from their team is so helpful since I don't have the time to go out there and make myself known (as a manager). They match profiles to the T, have answered every question I have asked and know every member that I have asked about. Seriously, I asked about a member named Rosa and I was told immediately that she came into the office every now and then and is looking for someone who is "not too emotional but is not like talking to a brick wall". Prior to joining Seattle Singles I made it abundantly clear I wasn't interested in joining a singles site only to gain access to their data base of single ladies. I was however interested in obtaining the services of a match-maker. I was assured their services did in fact include acting as a match-maker. I was assured they would match me with someone compatible and they knew several ladies who would be perfect for me. A year and a half later there has been no attempt to honor their promise. I went active in mid-Nov and on Dec 1st was introduce to my future partner and love by the staff. They kept abreast of my desires and profile. When my new found love surfaced as well; they immediately recognized the match and went about contacting me to see if I was up for a meet. Within a heartbeat of seeing her, we started communicating as if we knew each other since childhood. We have both went inactive so we can explore our futures together. I was suspicious when after asking me several very personal questions I was asked to give them at least a chance and meet them in person to discuss the prices of their services. I am no longer single and even after clearly letting them know that I was not interested in their services I still receive phone calls and voicemails form their pushy sales people. I joined this group back in 2015. I feel sorry for anyone who paid the fee they start with--$8000--because if you're ready to walk out, they will reduce it further and further until they persuade you. Unfortunately, for me, the membership was worth nothing--a complete waste of money. The things they told me about current members to get my interest turned out not to be true. The "matches" they recommended for me were so absurdly bad that I couldn't believe they were suggesting them: I'm an atheist; they paired me with a "devout Catholic" whose "closest relationship was with Jesus." I have a PhD, was a college instructor, and regard reading broadly in both fiction and non-fiction as a way of life; they matched me with manual laborers with a high school education who listed none of the other interests I enjoy among their interests (for example, as an animal rights advocate and a vegan, I'm unlikely to be compatible with someone who enjoys hunting and fishing). One of the things I discovered immediately was that they keep profiles of people who are no longer active members to make it appear that they have more possible matches than they do. Shortly after joining, I selected a profile but was told that the member I had chosen wasn't an active member because he was now in a serious relationship. Over the three years during which I was nominally a member, I perused the men in my age range and realized that of all the singles groups available, they have the smallest and most stagnant membership, combined with the highest fees, even if you get a dramatically reduced rate. They gave me a deal I couldn't refuse, told me I'd meet accomplished men in my age category and promised posting my video within 2 weeks of signing up - which is one of the main reasons I signed up. That was back in February. They still haven't posted it because they still don't have their upgraded system in place. When I called 2 times they kept giving me the run around. The third time I left a voicemail and my call was never returned. They send me matches no girl would want. I have only said yes to 2 or 3 and still haven't actually met anyone. I joined another dating site and was contacted by a lady at Seattle Singles. I guess they got my phone number from the other web site. I was talked into coming to talk. Everything they told me sounded great. After being told that they had a lot of single ladies that would be a great match for me i went home tom thing it over. I talked to them the next day and again was told they thought i would draw a lot of interest, i paid a very large amount of money to sigh up. I passed there back ground and credit check and was signed up. I filled out a profile and sent it in on line. They recommend that you reach out to a large number of the women to increase your odds of finding the right women.I reached out to at least 30 women and never had one response. I called and asked if they could check my profile and see if there was anything i could change. I was informed that i had no profile on file. I was told that the employee that i sent my profile into was no longer an employee and my profile was never posted. It was posted several days later and i was told i would be treated to a service where i would be posted as special member to get some exposure. I have been a member since February and it is mid November and i have not had one date. This site is over priced, and i have been mislead since day one. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE TO ANYONE. I signed up with Seattle Singles more than 4 months ago with a 50% off. The discount was offered by their director. She was so friendly and of course said a ton of good things about how great the clients are within her service and she really wanted me to be their client. I had a total of 14 inquiries so far, I did say yes to couple of them and exchanged text messages, but I didn't go out with any of them. None of them really matches to what I am looking for. They do check backgrounds and your credit history. However, there are really lack of efforts on match making. I have not heard from any one of the match makers in the last 4 months. They only try to do one or 2 matches at the first 2 weeks. I will not recommend them to anyone at all. I will not even waste any of my time to claim my money back. I know they totally got me. It is impossible to get anything thing back once you sign up with them. Basically, they offer you pre-screened potential matches on a super outdated website with just a hand full of people (couple hundred maybe) in your local area. This place is a complete scam! I paid $8,000 for a service that promised other mature, professional men in my age range. I was promised by my rep Kim that there were "hundreds" of professional men to choose from in the 50's to 60's age range. Once I joined I quickly realized there were less than 30 available men on their site- and out of those 30, none of them had professional careers, or took good care of themselves. I went on several dates and these were the results: one man was STILL MARRIED and living with his WIFE (he said he only paid $1500). The next man said he joined for FREE and told me he was bankrupt. The next man (paid $50) was unemployed and I later found out that he had domestic violence and drug charges on his criminal background check!! This business takes advantage of older men and women. They only have a few people to choose from (no members younger than 40 btw), nobody is healthy or professional, and they obviously do not run thorough criminal background or credit checks. I also just recently found out that this company is formerly known as Great Expectations, which was the dating service sued by and almost completely shut down by the WA state Attorney General. I truly hope this review helps save other people from being scammed by this unethical company! read more

These scam artist bastards talk a big game and charge big bucks but can't deliver. I was aggressively pushed into spending more money than I should have on a "3 year" membership. With this membership I understood I would be getting access to the online database, and attendance at events. The website was clunky and poorly designed. It was slow and looked to have been programed by someone with little to no skill. I never once was contacted or responded to with the site. the events cost an average of $15-$50 ON TOP of the membership. This Scam took me for over $1500.00 before I tried to cancel my account. AFTER I canceled they continued to charge me monthly for the online access I was not using BECAUSE MY ACCOUNT WAS INACTIVE. If you are investigating this company, run the other way before you are scammed out of your life savings. My brother sat down for a sales pitch and was told normally it's $8000 to join but we this week it's on sale for $2500. They said we have too many women not enough men so we would love to have you. They said unlike other dating sites you can meet single women organically at our single events we put on (sounder game, wine tasting , holiday party) . We also contact women and sell you to the single women. This guy is a great match for you can we give your # to him. The $2500 seemed justified because of all the ways they allow you to meet women. After he joined it was 80% men on the site for his area 20% women. The single events kept getting canceled and when they weren't it was all men showing up. They said we haven't found any women available to match you with so you will have to message women on your own. If a website was finding decent looking people for you every other weekend to go on a date with you, you could justify the $2500 because it's hard to meet people. You don't join a site that's mostly single men when your a guy its doesn't make sense. He called the next day for a refund and they said no. He decided suing would cost at least $2000 so he considered it a sunk cost. I use match. At times its 66% to 70% men but i only paid 100 bucks so I think is good value . read more
