Dean Automotive & Towing referred us to Derek at Wise Automotive and Derek was able to fit us in to his schedule right away that Thursday afternoon. We went into town for lunch (The Palace - great restaurant!). Derek called with an update an hour later. He found the drum brake had bound up, and also found some water had gotten into the marine grease. Less than two hours later and we had repacked wheel bearings and the brake imbalance was fixed. He had us do a test drive first to make sure it was OK while he finalized the bill. What!?! Let a stranger rmtest drive before paying!! I've worked for an 120 employee new car dealership for 16 years and I was compelled to recognize someone in my industry who did an excellent job diagnosing, keeping us updated on his progress, and did not try to upsell or charge for additional unnecessary work. I felt his charge was fair considering he had to squeeze me into his workload. AND, he texted me the next morning asking if I made it OK, if the brakes worked. Wow! That is so rare to have followup like that in any business! The car business in general has rightfully earned their reputation for being unethical & untrustworthy. The ambulance began cutting out intermittently and I stopped for lunch and searched local diesel shops on my phone. Crossroad Garage had great reviews, so decided to try and get there. I called and Brianna said they could diagnose it immediately, but probably not fix it until the next day. On the way there, it died and I towed it in with my support vehicle. They said it was a fuel pressure issue, but needed more time the next day to know for sure. Within an hour of them opening the next day, Brianna called and told me what was wrong, and that parts were available in Yakima, and the repair would be $1800. She couldn't guarantee that it would be fixed the same day, but they would try. I was called at 3pm and told it was ready. When I picked it up, the bill was $400 less than I was quoted. I paid and hit the road. I immediately noticed increased power and nearly twice the previous gas mileage. I made it the remaining 200 miles home without any further issues. Everyone there that I dealt with was pleasant and professional. They quickly diagnosed the issue and repaired it for less than what I was quoted. So happy, that I even bought one of the Black Rifle Co. trucker hats they had for sale!

Because of the dangerous situation, the owner skipped dinner and came to get me out of harm's way after calling me immediately after my insurance co contacted them for towing. Both the owner and his second tow truck driver were professional and friendly. After inspecting and guessing what the issue was they ordered the part that night (with no obligation if it wasn't needed). In the AM, they inspected my truck first thing and their previous night's assessment was spot on. The part came in shortly after and I was on the road a couple hours later. So much integrity!!! As a single woman traveling cross country I would have paid whatever was needed so I'd worried about a huge bill.
