Nashville, you have a GEM of a designer in your town now!! We used Sebring for several projects, from kitchen to bedroom to master bathroom, and all of them went extremely smooth. From the initial visit/consultation, to the design stage, to actually having the builders in our house to do the work, it was perfectly planned. Having two young children in the house was something to work around as well, and they did it with a smile. Our girls came to really enjoy seeing the workers arrive in the morning! Sebring came with a step by step plan of how the process would be, and stuck to it. No hidden visits or costs along the way like some other companies have done. Everything was up front, honest, and nicely within our budget. Sebring wasn't the cheapest, but wasn't the most expensive either. We decided this past Spring to go ahead and pull the trigger on refinishing our basement. The project consisted of building out a 'living room', gym, bedroom, 3/4 bathroom, butler pantry, and storage closet. When looking for a contractor to work with, I went through a very thorough selection process, getting quotes from 5 supposedly highly rated contractors. Of all the companies I dealt with, Bryan from Sebring construction was the most professional, knowledgeable, respectful, and helpful. I probably asked him 50 questions over email before committing to going with Sebring Construction, and he consistently answered my questions promptly....and he didn't ever seem to get frustrated with my questioning. Given that it's a pretty big commitment and financial investment, I wanted to be sure I was making all the right choices, and I felt like he completely understood that. Once we decided to go with Sebring Construction, Bryan introduced us to our project manager Nancy. We primarily worked with Nancy on a day to day basis through the duration of the project, which ended up going for about 3 months. Bryan was still actively involved in the project, checking in periodically, and addressing any questions or concerns. Nancy was just as great to work with. With my busy work schedule, I was out of town for pretty much every week, only able to check in on the project in person on weekends. If/when challenges came up, Nancy did a fantastic job talking me through the scenarios over the phone. I was initially concerned it would be super-stressful trying to get this project complete while not being present full-time, however Sebring's scheduling process and Nancy's attention to detail helped assure me that the project would be successful. As with any project, there are always some challenges, and Bryan and Nancy helped minimize the stress level as we worked through them. For example, the original design called for tray ceilings in the basement. Once it was actually framed out, I knew immediately it wasn't the right design decision. I discussed with Nancy and Bryan, and they just rolled with the punches and adjusted the design on the fly to accommodate my request. Regarding the cost of the project, it was not cheap, however for the amount of work that was performed and the quality of the craftmanship, I think we got a pretty good value. Comparatively speaking, Sebring was on the lower-end of the spectrum, as compared to the other 4 vendors I evaluated. If you want quality work, you're going to have to pay a bit of a premium. read more

Like so many other reviewers here, I recommend Sebring Design Build without hesitation. We chose Sebring to finish our basement primarily because they finished our neighbors' basement to high praise from everyone. From the planning stages to the construction process to the final product, everything was handled professionally, courteously, competently, and promptly by Bryan and his team (Hi Linda, Nancy and Jocelyn! You rock!). Planning/budgeting: Bryan communicated every detail of the anticipated costs in writing during the planning stage, and that is precisely what the project cost - aside from change orders issued at my request. All change orders were discussed in detail in advance, and approved by me through the online portal. I felt like I was in control of the process the entire time, and fully understood what I was paying and what I would get for that cost. My one suggestion would be to enable clients to make payments through the online portal. I literally had to buy a checkbook in order to write the series of checks to pay Sebring since the rest of my world accepts electronic payments. Process: Our project, captained by Phil, was finished right on schedule despite several surprises (old black mold in a wall, leaky window wells) that could have derailed things. Nothing phased Phil, and he was immediately responsive to all of our concerns, 24/7. All of the subcontractors who performed work on the project were just as courteous, competent and professional as Bryan and Phil. They were impeccably clean despite the mess that comes with construction, and kind to my curious young children. I will attach some images from the construction process to show just how well these guys cleaned up after themselves and went out of their way to be courteous by restocking our powder room supplies mid-project. End result: Of course, none of the above would matter if the end result was garbage or not what we wanted. But it's gorgeous - see pictures. The basement looks even better than I imagined, and integrates all of my random requests. Their stonemason even built my requested "wood niche" for the fireplace to spare me a million trips up and down the stairs with firewood. Ultimately, you get what you pay for. Sebring charges more than many, but they cross their T's, dot their I's, and thensome. It is money well spent. We already have plans in place to use them again for our master bath renovation. They did an excellent job. The cost came in exactly as estimated. The crews were very efficient. They laid down plastic sheets wherever they might walk to protect the carpet and the hardwood floors. The workmanship was top notch and the various crews were well coordinated. The crews cleaned up every afternoon before going home. The contract coordinator (Justin) kept on top of things and made sure that any changes were implemented as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend them for all remodeling needs. read more

Two years ago we had Sebring do a total renovation of our master bath. We were so happy with the process and the finished product that we had them back and renovate our laundry room, powder room, and a hall bath. We had the same exceptional experience and could not be happier with how everything turned out. Working with the Sebring team makes the whole construction process less stressful. I highly recommend working with Sebring services. We did a lot of research before choosing and we have been nothing but pleased with the team. From the beginning of the project to the very end, all members of the team were respectful to us and our home, pleasant and helpful. The projects was done in the time frame they quoted, but may have been finished early if it were not for the delay with the permit from our city. It took Joliet 3 weeks for a permit, which is not the norm. The care and craftsmanship on the cabinets is of very high quality. We are very pleased with the finished product. They were also very patient and accommodating when I had a change towards the end of the project. I wanted it to be five stars, but we had some issues relating to time (see below** if interested), Sebring Services is a good company If you want me to sum up how I feel.. read the last line in the review. We called a bunch of contractors and interviewed the four that got back to us. We figured that the ones that didn't get back to us were probably not worth chasing down. Not all four of the ones that we talked to were all that great either We knew that were going to $pend $ome dough on the addition and wanted to pick the right company to do it. Bryan came recommended by a guy that I know.. so that was a plus. He was also responsive and professional. We had a bit under 500 sq ft added onto the house, comprising a completely rebuilt screened porch, Family room with fireplace, 1/2 bath, foyer and closet. In addition a deck was added, the whole house re-roofed, plumbing updated in the house and with a new supply line from the street and some electrical work redone. Our house is a small dutch colonial and we wanted the addition to fit with the current style (high ceiling, but not vaulted, woodwork that matched, similar windows, etc..) and that's exactly what we got. We had found two old doors in the garage (with cool hinges) and they were able to save them for the new space. They look beautiful. Bryan Sebring did the initial drawing of the addition, his quote was the second highest but contained a more full accounting of what would need to be done.. the other contractors left things out.. like NEW WATER SERVICE (duh!) so we felt a high level of confidence in Bryan and his company from the beginning. Bryan met with our architect at the house and the talked through some initial issues.. they came up with great ideas that really improved the livability of the addition and of our existing home. So, we love the addition and all of the work the Brian, Nancy (Project Manager) and the crew did for us. They were willing to make changes on the fly (Nancy: "No Problem we can do that!") All of the Sebring crew did a great job, are very professional and courteous. Miguel and Alvaro are true craftsmen and when they are at your house the competence is palpable, they are terrific. They did not nickel and dime us either.. we/they got so much done that I am still amazed. I'm pretty sure that they didn't make much (if any) money on our deal. But, never once did they say anything, grumble, complain or infer. They put a lot of effort into doing things right. I work with contractors all of the time, I've been abandoned by contractors before they've finished... but Sebring had me hold onto extra money from our payments so that I had a feeling of security, they never asked for a dime of those final monies until they were completely finished with the job. ***The sometimes difficult: We applied for our permit in June of 2014, it took two months to get it (screwing up everybody's timetable) and the project was completely finished in at the end of August 2015.. It was scheduled to be completed in November of 2014, some of this was due to bad weather, the slow permitting process, some really slow sub-contractors (probably because of the schedule being off.. but still...) I think that perhaps later, when there were less things to do we were re-prioritized and other jobs took precedence. We were able to use most of the addition from December 2014 forward. They hired a sub-contractor to do the siding (we had lot's of different sub-contractors ..for the most part; excellent) and I wish I had the name of the company.. because not only were they excruciatingly slow, they were also totally inept.. unfortunately for us all, they finished in December and due to weather, it was a couple of weeks before we discovered the leaks in the fireplace.. Sebring had their own guys come out and take apart the whole chimney in 0 degree weather in January.. and they fixed it... Then we developed a leak in the screened porch where the cedar ceiling was damaged.. that was a real ordeal for them to figure out, but they did and then replaced the expensive ceiling. There was still work to be done and eventually Sebring hired a new siding company (awesome, very professional) that whipped the rest of the siding into shape.. fixing things I didn't know were a problem. It's important to note that we never had to make demands or argue about anything, Sebring recognized that these were problems and took care of them. It was just a really long project. So, would I use them again? Yes! read more

Our decision followed a long and painful search/quote process with several local firms. Since Sebring had recently worked with two families in our neighborhood with good results, we felt comfortable with the choice. Once Bryan and his team were engaged, the project proceeded on plan and stayed within our budget. We had a design in mind from the outset, and asked to use a specific tile, which was no problem with Sebring. Bryan is a very good friend of ours - which almost made me reticent to enter into a business relationship. I shouldn't have worried! Our basement presented some unique challenges, as the existing ductwork and plumbing dropped below the trusses, and the ceiling was going to require several soffits of varying heights. Bryan suggested that we could re-route the primary drain for our entire house by a few feet, which would allow us to move forward with only one soffit - and maximize the ceiling height in the primary living space. This was a very minor investment - which most contractors wouldn't even think of - and it fundamentally changed the look and feel of the finished space. We received that sort of attention to detail throughout the project. Our project lead, Justin, had multiple suggestions for modifications to the original plan, which added NO cost, but which helped in ways that couldn't have been anticipated at the outset. Sebring Services provides an online project portal, which keeps you up-to-date re: progress, allows you to communicate with the team, contains photos of their work, and details when each payment is due. This sort of transparency is unexpected, but very welcome. All of this work came in on time and on budget - at a cost that was materially lower than some of the other quotes we received. One of our wisest decisions as homeowners was hiring Sebring Services to finish our basement. Bryan Sebring came highly recommended to us from a friend who had spoken highly of his skill and professionalism. Indeed, Bryan had "rescued" a project in her house that had been started by a different contactor, and finished by Sebring Services with excellent results. At the start of our project, we had a variety of ideas of what we wanted in our finished basement. However, we struggled coming with up a cohesive plan to integrate these ideas. After meeting with Bryan, he came up with a blueprint that integrated our ideas within the constraints of our basement. Bryan was accommodating but always honest in his feedback. He does an excellent job in helping a client realize what features provide the most value when working in a specific budget. Good contractors employ good staff. The entire team at Sebring Services is deeply talented and dedicated. Percy Sierka, our project manager, did an outstanding job throughout the project. He personally oversaw all of the crucial parts of the project. Finishing our basement was a fairly complex six-month project. During any complex project, mistakes occur, or finished results sometimes don't appear the way they were envisioned. When these infrequent events occurred, Percy was always easily reachable, and the problems were promptly resolved. We also worked closely with Linda Knapp. She has a sharp eye for detail, and assisted during several important aspects of the project (selecting wood/granite and cabinetry design). Linda and Percy both exemplify the professionalism and commitment to excellence that is prevalent at Sebring Services. The final result of finishing our basement clearly exceeded our expectations. The workers for Sebring are dedicated to a perfect job. My tile installer only took a 15-20 minute break to eat during a 6-7 hour job. All upgrades to my condo look state of the art and their prices are phenomenally affordable. I've had my bathroom and walk in closet redone by them and only have to take a few hours off of work to be there for them to complete the jobs. Bottom line, the company did a great job and I was happy with the finished product. Fast forward four years to 2017 and I'm still happy. If you had asked me what I thought about them during construction, I probably would have ripped them a new one. I noted cigarette butts and soda cans behind the dry wall during a spot inspection on my part. It was just pure luck I saw it before they sealed it up. Otherwise, I would have garbage behind my basement walls without knowing it. I told Percy about it. The subcontractors were fired the next day. I loved it. After the work was completed, Brian Sebring comes to our house to do a final inspection. I've never had an owner of a company come out to make sure the job was done correctly. I loved that too. I never forgot it. He sends us a Christmas card every year. That's classy. Always reminds me of the garbage I found behind the dry wall, though, but also the professionalism of the firm. We've worked with Sebring Services for 2 home remodeling projects in the past couple years, and I highly recommend them. A few years ago they did a complete remodeling of an unfinished basement, creating two lovely office rooms and walling off a laundry / furnace area. We were so happy with how that project went, that we asked them back to do a bedroom and front room remodeling project for us just recently. Brian, the owner, is very well organized, professional, and prompt with all communications. Brian is a very detail oriented individual, and when you have somebody working on something as important as your home, he is the man for the job. I have nothing but good things to say about Sebring Services. My wife and I recently had them demo a partially finished basement, put in a full bathroom, and then finish 800 sq. ft. of total space. They did an on budget, on time, and very high quality job. The owner Bryan was very friendly and very patient in answering any questions we had in the lead up to the job. The quote we received was not the lowest but it by far the most comprehensive, detailed, and was a worst case scenario so that we would not have any financial surprises. My gut tells me forgotten items in the other quotes would have driven the final cost higher after it was too late to change my mind. Communication was excellent at all times. Voice mails, e-mails, etc. were always returned promptly. Once we signed the contract, we were introduced to our amazing project manager Percy and an app based project management system Sebring uses for all communications, selections, change orders, scheduling etc. Throughout the entire project, all communications via the system were returned within hours. It was also nice to see all of our files, permits, scheduling, selections, etc. all in one place. Once the project itself commenced, we could not have been more pleased. All aspects of the project were performed on schedule, the budget was maintained, the subcontractors were always friendly and efficient in their craft, the house was kept clean, and Percy, the project manager communicated with us as to how things were going almost every day. Even the one time where there was a slight misunderstanding regarding a framed wall that was placed about 3-4 inches from where my wife and I had wanted it to be, Percy immediately had it completely disassembled and placed exactly where we wanted it. No questions asked and not a hint of frustration. Percy simply wanted us to be happy with the finished product. For me I think an important indicator of how well things went was I never came home not expecting to be amazed by the amount and the quality of work that had been done that day. I simply knew based on Sebring Services reputation and what we had seen thus far that all would go well and it did. We did not have a single major problem at any point. How many can say that about a home remodel of the magnitude of a finished basement? In conclusion, one needs to only look at the reviews of this company in various venues to know they are very highly regarded in the area. For our project their quote was very competitive. In the future, if I was presented with a quote a bit higher than other companies, I'd most likely still go with Sebring Services. My time, lack of stress, trust, and the quality of the finished product is worth a lot of money to me. read more

We used Sebring 12 years ago to finish our basement and were very happy with the service, design and final product. When we decided to remodel our master bathroom we again decided to use Sebring. Bryan and his team made the process very easy. We did not have time to run all over Naperville looking at tile, fixtures, finishes etc. and so needed "one stop" shopping and design assistance. Linda, the designer helped us pick out everything but light fixtures right in their showroom. Another builder we looked at had a larger showroom and so I was concerned Sebring's choices would be limited. I was pleased that there were enough choices in Sebring's showroom to give us options but not be overwhelmed. The design and planning process went very smoothly and in fact Linda revised the design when we had to temporarily put the project on hold by adding a feature wall with niches that is just gorgeous. Phil S. was assigned as the project manager and he went above and beyond throughout the project and made sure everything was moving smoothly. As with any remodel there were some issues but Phil and Bryan were quick to make the necessary corrections even months after the project was completed. All of the sub-contractors were courteous and tried to make the process as disruptive as possible. We love our new master bath design and all the finishes. Sebring Services did an outstanding job in remodeling our 100 year old basement from tear out to completion. We have worked with many contractors over the last 20 years and Sebring by far is the best. The quality of the work was outstanding. The company is very customer service oriented and the communication was excellent! There were people working every day and the project was completed on time. We used Sebring Services previously about 15 years ago for a smaller basement project and they were excellent then as well. Since then we have used other contractors for various projects and i can honestly say Sebring Services' quality is second to none. Sebring services finished our previously unfinished basement, and we're extremely pleased with the results. In terms of price, their bid was right on top of the other two we obtained. That said, we chose Sebring because Bryan Sebring came across as the most professional and organized of the three contractors we obtained estimates from. Bryan was very organized and gave us a full project plan that was accurate to the day for each stage of the project. Every subcontractor Sebring used was top notch - courteous, clean, and punctual. Letting complete strangers in your home for 6 months can be daunting, but we were very comfortable with everyone who worked on the project. It may not be the cheapest estimate you get, but it will be accurate and fair for high quality, professional work done right the first time. They stick to the detailed schedule that you are given at the start of the project. They are flexible and will work with you if you decide to add or change something. First I want to say, growing up with a family of contractors and working as a project manager myself, I have never worked with such professional, accountable, friendly and organized contractors as I have with Sebring Services. Bryan came in and was honest and frank about what our options were. We made multiple changes to the original plan and he didn't even flinch. He made the process of planning enjoyable and extremely stress free. Once his team was onsite our project manager Percy was better than we could have imagined. He was so nice and easy to talk to about the progress and what was happening onsite. He went above and beyond in making sure we were happy and comfortable with all the details. Even the subcontractors were awesome. Every single one of them was clean and friendly, most even stopping to make sure they said hello to our pets each morning before starting to work. At the end of the night everything was cleaned thoroughly without hesitation. Even the garbage guy who picks up the sub contractors scrapes was always friendly and even went out of his way to help my husband lift some heavy stuff. Our experience could not have been better. We did a pretty thorough renovation of our kitchen that included new countertops, cabinets, and tiles, but also included relocation of electrical, construction of a desk where a wet bar was and redesigning the storage in the island. From our initial call to Sebring (which was returned in 10 minutes!!) through to completion, the whole team has been incredibly responsive and supremely professional (respectful of us and our home, prompt, always cleaned up, and just very nice!). Strong communication is a hallmark of the process with an easy to navigate website that includes a secure site for all updates and questions. Our project manager, in particular, was great.
