This is my fourth time to this track and it looks like they've done a lot of improvements to the track or the facilities around the track. I remember the first time I came to the track. It was pretty dirty and it seemed like the bathrooms were really unkept, but I noticed this time they had people at every single bathroom keeping them clean every time I went to the bathroom, it was super clean now Road Atlanta needs to catch up with them. I like the new bridge crossovers that let you get to the paddocks and over the track. The shuttles have been great for people who don't feel like walking and especially when my knees needed a break from the stairs. Temporary signs were everywhere and the free parking for those whom didn't purchase or have an inside parking sure is nice as it helps it brings a bigger crowd to the races and helps promote and keep the sport popular. I did get to park inside with my four day pass and that was really nice to not have to buy it separately but also the free parking wasn't super far either. The weather has been great so far and the track staff have kept the track clean and so far it's been a fun event. I'll update after the race with any post race feedback. I finally found the free program with the map of the track layout and the shuttle stops have a track map also. This has been super helpful. At Daytona they had either ran out or didn't have maps and it was challenging and frustrating. They need to add temporary track maps to their shuttle stops like Sebring. I also like how the shuttle staff were familiar with the stops and helped navigate when and where to get off based on where you were wanting to go, something the staff at Daytona definitely had no clue about and their lines were long and fans were frustrated not knowing where to go or if they were even getting on the correct shuttles. read more

Sebring International Raceway is a true race track holding all sorts of motorsport races including the Mobil 1 Twelve Hour. As the first race here was held in 1950, it's one of the oldest continuously operating tracks in the United States. I came here to see the two days of Porsche racing with only Porches involved in the races. I ended up staying at the Sebring International Raceway Hotel also known as Seven Sebring Raceway Hotel in room 417 which is located right on the race track with a balcony overlooking its famous hairpin turn. The room I had was great. It was clean, well-furnished and with the best race track view anyone could ask for. Established in 1950, the Sebring International Raceway is North America's oldest permanent road racing facility. The racetrack was built on Hendricks Field, a United States Army Air Forces base during World War II which served as a Heavy Bomber Training School for B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberator pilots. When they were expanding the track they discovered bombs buried on the property. The field was named in honor of army pilot Laird Woodruff Hendricks, Jr. who was born in Ocala and grew up in Jacksonville.Army pilot. He was killed in a B-17C crash near RAF Polebrook, England on July 28, 1941, three days after he arriving to train Royal Air Force pilots. The 3.74 mile track is on the same concrete that was poured for the airfield. Since 1952, Sebring International Raceway has been famous for the 12-hour endurance classic. In 1966 during the 12 hour race there were five fatalities. Driver Bob McLean of Canada lost control entering the hairpin turn and died instantly when his Ford GT 40 struck a utility pole, turned end over end and burning upside down in a ditch. Later in the day four spectators standing in a restricted area were also killed by an out of control Porsche. In response the track was widened in parts and shortened 50 yards. Other changes included removing the Webster Turn between the hairpin and the top of the track and replacing it with the faster Green Park Chicane, further down the track. Part of McClean's car is buried somewhere near the track. On the day I visited it was the Fanatec GT World Challenge America sportscar race powered by AWS. The three day festival featured the stars and cars of SRO Motorsports of America. All day tickets were only $26. Something interesting I discovered is that you can watch the race at turn seven from the back of the Seven Sebring Raceway Hotel. The hotel was named after the famous hairpin turn that has been a part of the track since the first 12 hour race. In 1997 after an accident the turn was modified to the way it is today. The turn is purported to have the most exciting race action. I couldn't tell you the name of one driver in the sport but even I loved the thrill of the speed and the race. read more

Sebring Raceway staff was excellent and Rick (the RV manager) went above and beyond. We came for the 12 Hour and rolled in with our camper after dark due to traffic. Green Park was packed, and being first timers we didn't know where to go. Nearby Raceway staff (sorry we didn't get your names) called Rick and he came over. He had a suggestion for a spot near the midway and took me by golf cart to check it out. Then he took me back to my truck and camper, and had us follow him back to the spot, where he made sure we got situated. Rick even stopped by the following day to make sure we were happy with our spot. Thanks to all the friendly staff and especially our hero, Rick. read more

Sebring is possibly the most historic track in the US. Sebring International Speedway has become my "home track". While I have driven at several other courses around the country, this is my go to track, partially because of the proximity to my home but mostly because of the multi faceted aspects of this track. It has nearly every type of corner, surface and experience that you could want on a road course. The only negative is that there is no elevation. Each of the 17 turns are very different from the others. You will find yourself driving on asphalt, concrete (and occasionally grass) while making a lap. All of these changes help make you a better driver. As mentioned in another review, there are a few groups / organizations that rent Sebring for the weekend and allow amateurs through professionals to test their skills on the track. This is done under strict rules and under the guidance of an instructor for the novices. One of the best of these groups is Chin Track Days. If you ever wanted to really test your skills on a famous race course, Sebring is definitely the place to try it. read more

Vroom! Vroom! You're going to hear that a lot here! If you live anywhere within driving distance, this is an experience not to be missed. I don't care if you don't like racing. It's about the UNIQUE EXPERIENCE! If you have kids, especially boys, it's practically MANDATORY! Yes the March race is international madness and yes it is expensive. So what! Check the web site and find something else throughout the year. Today I was there as many of the teams tested their cars and the track for next month's race. It cost me a whole $10. A family with a young boy and two teenage girls was down by the pits. A driver pulled in after whipping around the course at insane speeds. He swaggered over to talk to them. The boy practically exploded with excitement. The girls, well, let's just say the best word is probably melted! I guarantee they will be talking about it for years! I'm a little bummed that I was here for five weeks to do work for Highlands County and there wasn't a race going on. Sebring is home of the famous "12 Hours of Sebring" race and it takes place in March. But on the plus side, there wasn't a race going on! I live in Charlotte and I know what a race week does to the local traffic, restaurants and especially the hotel prices. So perhaps it was best to be here during the "off season." The track is awesome. None of this left turn - left turn - left turn - left turn nonsense that we have in NASCAR. Sebring is a proper track with with turns and right turns and straightaways. It is REAL racing and has been since 1950. During off season, Skip Barber does their competitive training courses here. Sebring is pretty far from pretty much every major airport. Orlando, 2 hours. Sarasota, 2 hours. Melbourne, 2.25 hours. Fort Lauderdale, 2.5 hours. Palm Beach, 2.5 hours. Crazy that anyone would think to host a major event here in the sticks. But maybe that's the charm? read more

This place is amazing! Great place to bring the family. Camping for race weekend is a one of a kind experience.

I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the disgusting bathrooms. In any case, I've never been to the annual Twelve Hours of Sebring endurance race which the track is known for. I have been numerous times for HPDE (high performance drivers education) and club racing events and have driven thousands of laps on the track. For those not familiar with HPDE and club racing, it's basically private clubs that rent the track out for a given weekend, then let their members drive on it, or race on it. Some clubs are strictly HPDE, where you're broken out into groups of typically novice, 'solo' where you're experienced enough to drive without an instructor, and then some type of advanced level where the passing rules are less restrictive. These HPDE events are absolutely perfect for anyone interested in fast cars and auto racing to experience any given track for a small amount of money. For example, one group that does events at Sebring many times per year is called Chin Motorsports. They will you register as a passenger and sign an injury waiver (in case you die lol) for a small fee of $20, and then for the rest of that day, you can ride with any solo qualified driver as their passenger; you just need closed toe shoes and a proper helmet, which you can even rent from them if needed. Many drivers are more than happy to have someone riding along with them. Two clubs popular for racing events, if you want to watch some multi-class racing, are PBOC and NASA. These obviously aren't F1 cars, but there are some reasonably fast cars that show up even for the club events, so don't overlook it. You can also typically get in free as the track doesn't charge entry fees at these events. read more

Great track! We come here all the time for NASA events for work and I have actually driven the track a few times. It's definitely one of my favorite tracks to drive and the facilities are great also. This being Yelp and all the food at the Snack Shack is also pretty good, especially when compared to the god awful food at some other tracks *cough* homestead *cough*. It does get HOT in the summer so be warned and the garages don't provide much protection from the heat or the rain (especially that horizontal rain!) so come prepared. There is also a hotel right on the property which makes it very convenient. read more

Great facility of you like road course racing. If you like turning left then visit your favorite oval track. 12 hours of Sebring race is a well know race for now 63 years! None stop racing for every fan to enjoy. Don't be afraid to walk and check out the whole track as there is not one corner that is the same as the others. Bring your own food and drink as the only negative is the concessions are a joke, but what do you expect you are paying for convenience. read more

I came here from orlando for a car show I entered. I must say I was very impressed with the tracks. The space at the speedway was massive. They had the quarter mile, the drift track, concession stand and open parking. Compared to the one we have in orlando I think this location offers a much better vibe and environment because the layout of the test tracks were evenly spread out. The only downfall was it was located in the heart of Sebring and for me that's 2hrs away. read more

We came out to Sebring International to see a friend race in the Huracan Amateur Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals. It was our first time here and once past the gate, it was a little confusing as to where we were supposed to go. We drove to where we saw most of the cars parked and crossed the bridge over the racetrack. Immediately walking in we were excited about just how close you could get to the racetrack. They do take the proper safety precautions so I was never nervous about letting my nephews watch the cars. After a little exploring we found our friends at their car trailer and we were excited to see that anyone was allowed to walk through the trailers to see their favorite drivers. We asked our friends where the best place would be to sit and watch them race, and the answer was, go anywhere! This track winds and curves making it really exciting and giving you several great places to be to watch. Once we got comfortable with the concept of the freedom to move along the track to watch from different vantage points, we stayed on the move.We watched qualifying from one side of the track then drove to the other side of the track and sat in the air conditioned car to watch the race. If you want to hear the announcements you have to stay near in the covered area above where the Cars pit. You can't hear the announcements from the far side of the track and you really have no way of knowing what is happening on the other side of the track so you have to know what time the race ends to know that it is over. There are bathrooms on both sides of the track but there is also a snack bar and several bathrooms behind the pits. There were not many seats unless you own a box, but they do let you bring your own chairs. The snack bar was expensive for a snack bar, but they also seemed to let you bring your own coolers! All I can say is, if you haven't attended this race then you you need to treat yourself to the no. 1 rated race in the country. There is so much history here and if your a true racing fan you will fall in love with this track. Back in the early 40s this was a B17 training base, and if you walk down the midway ( witch was one of the runways) you can still see the old rusted tie downs witch held the planes secure in bad wheather. Going on my 51st year now, and as long as the good Lord keeps me healthy, I'll be coming to this special place every year with my family and friends. read more

After paying 85 dollars apiece to enter and 60 dollars to park in a field, (which was adjacent to the free parking lot) made the experience less than optimal. The whole process of entering the track, waiting in line, and driving to the parking lot was, in the words of someone I overheard on the tram say was: " An execise in inefficiency" What is billed as one of the oldest tracks, sure lives up to it's name, as well showing it's age. Bleachers are constructed of old, warped boards, the stairs and overpass over the track are also constructed of old lumber, restrooms consist of porta-potties with portable handwashing stations. Security staff appear to be locals hired for the event who lack the ability to answer even the most basic questions. Tram drivers seemed to be the most pleasant and helpful people at the track. The ability to get close in the paddocks and observe the pits is a plus, and food/drinks are affordable. Taking some of the proceeds to improve the facilities would make the experience better. read more
