When I shared her fees were too high so this isn't what we were looking for, she asked for the other nanny service places I had spoken with. She pointed out a specific company and was telling me they cost more, which is not what they offered me. She quickly got combative and then said yeah, daycare is the best route for you after I generally mentioned what we were looking into with no specific details. Had a terrible experience with Marybell. I have been a nanny for 8+ years & career nanny for 5. Let me start by saying, nannies in general have a hard time working with agencies compared to searching for jobs themselves and being successful. I was given the word to be cautious working with them beforehand by a few nannies. So I was really hoping to break that stigma and love my experience although it did not turn out that way. Marybell and I had spoken about a possible meeting time in which she promoted and I was available. I had responded to her to say this, with no response or confirmation back on that day and time. Even a simple "Great, lets go ahead with this date and I look forward to meeting with you.", would have been suffice. But with no response, I was unsure if we were still meeting or if she had even received my email, so I did not attend and she did. Now, yes.. I could have reached out again to see if the date and time still worked for her (although I don't believe I should have had to), but she also could have simply confirmed. She went on to email me to call me rude which was EXTREMELY unprofessional and not at all how you handle a situation like that as a business owner. I have worked in customer service before and would never. I pride myself on being a reliable and professional individual. So much so that in my last position which I was at for 3 years; I never called off once or used any of my sick or vacation days until being there for one whole year. Anyhow, I was still professional in my response to her and explained myself hoping for a little bit of understanding. Again with no luck and NO response. I only hope that going forward, this will be a learning experience on both ends. But I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. With this being one of those unfortunate cases that you don't understand at first but it all makes sense in the end because I would never want to work for or with someone as unprofessional as Marybell was. Her actions said more than enough about her true character.
