He loves his teachers and it is clear they love him too and take wonderful care of him. Ms. Rosa and Ms. Lashawnda are fantastic teachers. My son gets a huge smile on his face to see his teachers every morning. They keep us updated through the Kindercare app; sending us pictures of his day and letting us know about his eating, sleeping, and diaper changes. In the late afternoon, he transitions to another classroom, but Ms. Haley and Ms. KK and all the other teachers take wonderful care of him and always have updates on how the day went when we pick him up. The consistency of teachers has helped make us feel comfortable with our son's time at UCC. They know him so well! We can't say enough good things about how comfortable we feel dropping him off every day. The facility is clean, organized, and we're always met with a smiling face and personal greeting from the administrative staff for drop off and pick up. Everyone knows our name and our son's name. It really feels like the staff at UCC cares about our family.

Once we met Val and saw the school, we instantly knew the location was perfect for our commute and the nurturing, attention, diversity of education, structured play/education we had been hoping to achieve with a nanny share would happen at CPS. Our son was one of the first enrolled students. 8 months later, we could not be more thrilled with the experience. He is only just now 1 but is already walking, talking, singing and signing. The teachers are amazing and the activities offered (yoga, music class, baby sign language, daily walks/park play during nice weather) are unlike any other school we toured. They also have numerous activities where parents are encouraged to come to school and participate. Checking in on his day is easy with the Brightwheel app. Am excited to have our son at the school until they kick him out when he is 6 :)

My story -- I was in town for a job interview and traveling with my 7 month old. Because of traffic, I had to leave the hotel very early at 5:30am. The nanny no-showed. Ok fine, emergencies happen, things come up. My main issue was that my calls and emails to owner Rebecca went unanswered. For 3 hours. I ended up dragging my sleeping 7 month old along for my interviews and finding a separate emergency nanny to meet us there. Kind of a disaster. I gave the service a chance. The two nannies who did arrive were nice. I talked to Rebecca afterwards. I suggested that they needed a backup for emergencies -- a number or pager or email or something. She was not interested in looking into that. I suggested they provide their services discounted after what I went through. She was not interested in that; I got a $400 bill from her despite the above disaster. So I would advise you use this service with extreme caution. All of us with children know that childcare emergencies happen. But a "back up" nanny service that charges more than the competition but isn't willing to be available when issues arise? That's not a service you should give your money to.

The babysitter arrived, and she couldn't have been more perfect. She was sweet and fun and totally put together and reliable. My daughter (4 yo) was so disappointed when I got back and her "playmate" had to leave! She'd had been playing barbie with my daughter for hours! We used the same sitter the next day for my 4yo & 1yo--and again, she was amazing. We're staying in Chicago again for a week in January--but this time with friends. I'm so sad we can't use them again this time--they only do sitting in hotels. And the last reviewer is right--even the people on the phone make you feel totally at ease about their service!

That made it all the more meaningful to find a community that has been so warm, supportive, and genuinely invested in his growth. The engagement from everyone at Guidepost--from the teachers to the administrative staff--has meant a lot to our family. It's clear that the people there truly care about the children and work hard to create an environment where they feel safe, encouraged, and excited to learn. Watching our son blossom, gain confidence, and discover new things has been a wonderful experience, and we truly do not think it would have happened in the same way without Guidepost. Initially after we enrolled, there was some turbulence with administration earlier on (3 admin changes), but it really seems like those issues have been sorted out. The school feels welcoming, well-run, and focused on doing a great job serving the children in its care. That has given us a lot of reassurance and made us feel even better about being part of the Guidepost community. What we got was my seeing my daughter who is academically advanced being used as teacher's aide in a school that was understaffed. Instead of helping her learn she was constantly being told to help younger kids. She was also subjected to seeing her teachers become physical with her peers who didn't listen, by harshly putting them into chairs, grabbing them by the shoulders. I myself witnessed a Spanish teacher pull two boys into the hallway and slam one of them into a wall while yelling at them in Spanish. I believe this happened because the teachers are all running classrooms without the proper student to teacher ratio so they are frustrated and stressed. That teacher told me she was in the room alone and the boys were acting out. We finally took our daughter out of the school when she started coming home with scratches and bruises on her body and the staff did nothing about it. There were two boys in her classroom who were physical with the other kids and the teacher had no control. Their director even pulled the video tapes from the classroom and verified to me that my daughter was telling the truth about these boys but their only resolution was to "give the teacher more training". These boys were wild and out of control. Overall it was a total waste of our money. The only positive was some of the other wonderful families we met there (most of whom are also pulling their kids out). This school was much better when it had a different head of school. It is very unfortunate because they have some great kids and a few great teachers but they are all so unsupported and staff turn over is very high.
