Either that or they misused ClearJel rather than tapioca or corn starch for thickening. It's so thick, it coats the back of your throat, like you've eaten corn syrup poured over smashed raspberries. It doesn't taste like the appropriate amount of sugar was added to the filling either. It does not taste fresh at all. It tastes like one I could have picked up at the grocery store. As a matter of fact, I think Hannaford's has mini pies that are far better.

We went into the Calf-a (sound that out) and there was a fairly long waitlist, but passed the time in the maple steam room with free samples! and perhaps the most interesting samples of all. Maple mustard. Various maple dips. And while they were not cheap, the staff did work together to get me some Grade B maple, which is so hard to find nowadays. It's now in my fridge. Once our names were called, we found a great variety on the menu for a very reasonable price. I got two pecan pancakes, fresh made, and my lady got one maple cranberry, made with the cranberries that were used to infuse the cranberry maple syrup.
