Second time there and honestly, the crunchy French toast is what brought us back. Its to die for…read more Espresso martinis were excellent. The first time I was there I had the avocado toast, which was great. My friend had their breakfast burrito which he thought was soggy and fell apart but hey it happens. Food delivery was very slow the first time, but our server was nice and the drinks were flowing so it was fine. Our table all has 20+ years each in the service industry, we get it. Today once again the crunchy French toast was amazing. We got it for the table to share and everybody couldn't get enough. The service was just really weird. It was like she really didn't want us to be there. And she didn't want to be there. She wasn't really rude, but she was pretty indifferent and took a long time to come back to the table. A second round of drinks was obviously off putting to her. Then I needed a change for a 20 so I could just leave cash for the check and hadn't seen her for a while so I asked another server who just walked by and said I'm not your server without even making eye contact with me. When I got the change, she was a little bit rude with me about it. It was 1 o'clock, they were past the brunch rush. It was just an odd experience with the server. I get having a bad day, but you shouldn't make it so obvious that you wished that you didn't have to be there.

I love when local eateries are well-loved because they deserve it. 9 Miles East Farm certainly does! A lot of the folks who came in for dinner wanted to sit on the terrace to bask in the last couple of hours of sun, but being from Florida I get overdosed with that and sat inside. I'm glad I did, the playlist reminded me of a Sunday picnic without being either. However, the atmosphere felt like that, even indoors. The owner was super personable, and the server was just the right amount of attentive. I ordered the chicken piri piri, and it presented beautifully. I felt comforted by the food. The tender grilled chicken parted from the bone with a twist of my fork and the mashed sweet potato was a great partner to the savory, citrusy, and slightly spicy piri piri. Im not even a chicken thigh person, but this dish changed me. I actually felt tended to and taken care of by the food! Does that even make sense??? It did when I was eating because that's how I felt. And the crazy thing is, I've been here once before. I loved what I ate, but it didn't feel like this. It's been a rough couple of months, but after this meal and listening to the carefree, but intentional music, it lit up my mood and my spirit. This will definitely be one of my go-to's when I visit Saratoga Springs, and I highly recommend 9 Miles East Farm to anyone. I think that a lot of people feel like they're visiting a friend's place when they come here. I definitely did.

We had fun plucking zennias ($.50 each) and wanted to see the sunflowers but did not get a chance to since we saw lightning. Within ten minutes of seeing lightning, a heavy thunderstorm began, which we waited out in the cidery, which is in a large barn. There were three bathrooms and a shared sink. There were also lots of snacks, ciders and spirits available for purchase. You could even buy crackers / cheeses / meats to make your own charcuterie board! It looked like there was a private event while we were there as well as another private event in the evening. I only tried the Kitchen Sink cider which I honestly didn't like at all, but at least the packaging was nice! I also have to give a shout out to the people working at the stand near the parking lot for giving me a free sunflower stem since I didn't get a chance to pick one!

To its credit, there was ample variety within each course of the fixed-price-menu to satisfy vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters. Everything was superb (little gem's ceasar salad, a scrumptious cauliflower main dish, asparagus, steak, tagliatelle emiliana, chocolate budino, lemon olive oil cake, French fries, olive mixture, braised beef, doughnuts, etc.). One feels very welcomed by the hostess, the wait staff is efficient and unobtrusive, and the restaurant avoids the sin of many restaurants these days: blaring and abrasive music. We had a little mishap with our main course in that one arrived much later than the others, and a guest's braised beef dish was a little on the cool side. The waitress (Amanda M.) was extremely gracious in handling and remedying these issues. Thank you, Amanda M. I highly recommend.

We had the octopus dish and wedge salad as our appetizers which were an absolute hit. The chorizo complimented the octopus perfectly and the bacon was perfectly tender and crispy on the wedge. For our mains, we had the chicken teriyaki and the wild boar bolognese. The chicken teriyaki could have used one more element like a chili oil/crisp but otherwise it was amazing. The wild boar bolognese needed a bit of salt but otherwise paired beautifully with the pasta. We ended with an espresso martini and the star of the night, the coconut bread pudding. When I tell you this may have been the best dessert I've ever had, I'm not kidding! Cute and cozy place and a great meal for a special occasion or a just because!

I used to visit here annually when I lived in NY. I have very fond memories of Indian Ladder Farms…read moreas a child and it was a very special treat to sample their warm apple cider and devour a bag of fresh cider donuts. Many years later they have so much more to offer - several varieties of fresh coffee, fresh warm pies, a huge selection of jarred items such as honey, pickles, olives, jams and jellies, a variety of craft beers and ciders made on site, Danishes, cookies, and other pastries for purchase, clothing and other merchandise, a large produce area with some of the most beautiful fruits and veggies available, a separate building dedicated to just apple varieties, and a large event hall at the back end of the property near their brewery. This place is pretty awesome. Something else to note is that when we arrived, they were setting up for Oktoberfest, so if you don't have any plans for Oktoberfest next year this would be an exceptional venue to share in the celebration. I have to say that it is a little pricy, much more expensive than I remember but we are living in different times now. We purchased one of the warm peach pies and it was exquisite. I even had a piece with my breakfast the next morning, I couldn't get enough, but it was about $25. Three donuts and two coffees cost us $17.55, which is a bit overkill but we wanted to enjoy in the moment. We also purchased a jar of peach jelly Togo and that was about $8. This is a great place to take a friend or date in the afternoon or for an event. There are several walking trails available and the property is gorgeous as you have a great view of the Catskill Mountains. There are several places where you can just sit around and chat for a while and they have their own pub and eatery under the main store. Additionally, there are some livestock chilling on the property and a small petting area where the kids can feed goats, chickens and any other creature wandering around. All-in-all, we had a great time while visiting and would definitely come back next time we are in NY.

All the staff is friendly and there to explain maple, farming, whatever you'd like. For maple weekend? Excellent. We went into the Calf-a (sound that out) and there was a fairly long waitlist, but passed the time in the maple steam room with free samples! and perhaps the most interesting samples of all. Maple mustard. Various maple dips. And while they were not cheap, the staff did work together to get me some Grade B maple, which is so hard to find nowadays. It's now in my fridge. Once our names were called, we found a great variety on the menu for a very reasonable price. I got two pecan pancakes, fresh made, and my lady got one maple cranberry, made with the cranberries that were used to infuse the cranberry maple syrup. Our table got an entire pitcher of maple to pour as we pleased - yes, I do please. I took a pair of maple donuts to go, and they do not taste like cider donuts. The maple stands out.
