If I could give the shop and owner Diane more than five stars I would! I have consigned with her for over 15 years -the experience has been phenomenal . Diane couldnt be more personable, honest, hardworking and fair. She goes above and beyond to accommodate her customers always. I have consigned with others in the past and have found my experience at Second Glance to far exceed all others. The owner is a rude, dismissive, condescending control freak..... Was interested in consigning... both times, speaking with her over the phone to get an idea of what she was looking for; and when I brought in some things, She never stopped talking! And I mean she NEVER STOPPED TALKING. After the phone conversation, I thought.... will she be accommodating and be a person that could work well with my things on consignment...? I decide to give it a try. When I went to drop off, the motor mouth started again and did not stop until she scrutinized the clothing, accessory and shoes. When I managed to get a word in edgewise, she repeated the same thing over and over, like I was stupid and didn't either understand or hear her the firs 5 times she said it. I agreed to consign, believing the clothing etc. would be on the selling floor either that day or next. After a week, I thought it might be a good thing to check to see if anything sold. When I arrived, she was deep in conversation with a "looky loo".... I asked about the things and immediately she went into a tirade saying that she told me the things would not be out on the selling floor either bcoz they were spring..... huh? Why would I consign and leave my possessions over to her to be put " wherever she wanted"....? And not to be sold on the selling floor???? Either she's completely crazy or she took me a fool... When I asked why she didn't tell me this... she raised her voice, became belligerent and kept repeating " they're spring items, they are spring things....over and over". When I saw and heard her attitude with me, I raised my voice also and said why would I leave my things with you and not be out for possible sale/s. She did not appreciate me questioning her, bcoz she's such a controlling individual so I asked for all my things back immediately. Upon leaving her overstocked, cluttered, messy environmen, and a poor excuse for a consignment shop, I let her know she's a rude, insulting, nasty person who obviously feels the deep need to act obnoxious... toward a "potential client" ! So glad I did not give her any of my business... I have consigned before... many times in the neighborhoods of Needham, Norwell and Brookline. Avoid this person and place if you can......Terrible owner!! read more

Considerate, friendly, always welcoming with a smile on Diane's face, the owner. She is now a friend who trusts me to try apparel on at my own home and return if necessary or put on my account to pay in near future. Always there with a compassionate ear! The selection of apparel is of the upmost quality and she won't accept nothing but the best! The value of her clothing is tagged to fit my pocketbook and is fair and you know the quality is exceptional. Many of her garments and purses have tags on them for which I still haven't figured out yet! This has been my feel-good place for 30 years! I have bought some of my favorite clothing, jewelry and accessories for family, friends and of course myself. I have bought numerous home decorations. I even bought a fine car from the woman next to me at the counter! I have been inspired to sell and donate what I no longer need. Diane is truly fabulous and provides such an amazing community service by owning and running Second Glance so well. The store is clean and organized. The merchandise and pricing are wonderful. I have enjoyed many fine conversations. On the rare occasion when I have left empty handed, I still had a wonderful experience. This cute little store is a hidden gem packed with great buys and the owner is so charming. She is very particular about her clothes and she displays them nicely. Had a wonderful morning perusing the store- just as others say- it is clean, organized, aesthetically pleasing, and of course, all terrific quality. This biz is tucked away in an alley off the main drag in Walpole, so I am afraid it must often get missed. Diane (the owner) is helpful & friendly, and has, obviously, found her calling! Great store! I had something extraordinary happen at Second Glance. I had dropped off a pile of clothes to be consigned but didn't feel the need to stay and watch things get sorted. While the owner Diane was sorting through the items to tag and hang in her store she came across an envelope of cash that my husband had left in his pocket. The amount was quite quite large. Diane called me immediately to let me know there was money left in a pocket and that she would hold it in a safe place till i came to claim it. I knew the amount that was left in the pocket and when i drove down to claim the money everything was there. I could not thank her enough!!! I have shopped at Second Glance many times prior to this experience and i've always found Diane to be friendly,helpful and the clothing is always plentiful and so well organized but this experience was over the top!!!! read more

Since finding this store a few months ago, I compare all other consignment stores to Second Glance. This store is one of a kind! It is truly a hidden gem! Many things make this store as awesome as it is, but most outstanding is (obviously) the merchandise - the owner obviously has an excellent eye. Items are interesting, fashionable, functional and clean. It's obvious the owner loves what she does and takes pride in her store. Without hesitation, I would say Second Glance is my favorite consignment store in the greater Boston area! read more

i have sold, as well as bought things here and the owner, Diane, is wonderful to work with and chat with. i'm always surprised that she remembers my name even though i'm only in a couple of times a year (i live about a half hour away otherwise i'd be there more frequently). she only accepts items in good condition so you don' t have to sort through a bunch of junk to find your treasure. check it out! read more

Second Glance is the best consignment store around! The quality of all their items is excellent and prices more than reasonable. I would highly recommend this hidden jewel to others! Worth the trip if your not from the Walpole area. read more
