Store is well organized, much cleaner, and much more spacious than some of the other locations. Staff are always friendly and very helpful. However, the reason for my 3 star rating is the fact that the prices at this location have gone WAY up (in my opinion) across the store and the prices at this location seem to be much higher than other nearby locations for the same types of items. Secondly, I was also informed recently by one of the staff members that they cannot hold furniture at this location (regardless of size of item) even if you pay for it and ask to come back later that day with a larger vehicle. This, to me, is frustrating and doesn't make sense if the customer is willing to pay for it on the spot and agrees to come back same day. read more

honestly used to love this place, but now prices here dumb high. Savers has taken the joy of thrifting and crushed it. Despite what they say this is a for profit company and it is a joke how much they are charging. The employees get first dips on good stuff that comes in despite what they say I have watch employe checking out a bunch of stuff. Not hating on it they work there (honestly i probably would do the same if I worked there). Just putting in my view to tell you wont find many cool finds when you go. Savers has been my go to since I discovered it about 10 years ago! Most of my wardrobe is from there. However, I just learned their return policy is all sales are final. I think that's terrible seeing that they decided not to bring back dressing rooms and the ability to try on clothes. I won't be going back. I mean, they can't at least give a store credit? I will now be re-donating $50 worth of clothes. The full policy is items can be exchanged within 2 weeks, so you go in with the items to be returned and then stay to pick out new items, that also might not fit. I don't have time for that type of nonsense. Bring back the dressing rooms!! read more

the management here has lost their mind. The prices are absolutely laughable. Like, jaw dropping awful. These pics are from 2 different visits. Stained, pilled and moth eaten sweaters marked at $25-$100. Everything in this store is donated because they have somehow duped the public into believing that they are a non-profit company that helps the community someho. they are legit fooling people into handing over their goods so they can turn around and sell it for more than new retail in some cases. Based on the customer service I received today, I would give a 0 rating. I went to the checkout with 1 item (a blouse). The cashier was finishing up a sale, and told me she was closed. I asked nicely , saying I had only 1 item. She refused again saying her manager had just told her to go with her.... I looked at the only other open register and a lady was just starting to checkout with seriously at least 50 items! Since I was running late for a PT appointment, I had to leave the cart and go. This is the worst Savers I have ever been to. I had to walk all the way to the front because I couldn't use the bathroom without an access code and they had to page a guy to let me in. When I asked why it was because people bring clothes into the bathroom and steal them. Do I went to ask a sales person who said she was in the middle of something (as if she had no time all day) but asked what I wanted. So I asked how come they have no dressing room and she gave me an answer to a different question. When I asked her how is someone supposed to try on their clothes she told me "We didn't need them anymore." I asked, "Who didn't need them anymore, the customers?" She told me to "have a good day". A woke answer by a woke employee. Not only that but this stores shelves didn't have half the stuff of other stores and furniture was in two different places. There we very few items and everything was poorly arranged Compton the m any other stores I have shopped at. I'm outta here!! read more

Definitely the nicest, cleanest Savers I've been to! It's also kept up pretty tidy, considering other locations have had clothes all over the floor, in fitting room, etc. I always find something at this location including higher end brands (such as Wildfox) and even saw a Louis Vuitton wallet once (obviously fake, but still). Bathrooms were clean as well, which was surprising since most Savers are disgusting and dirty. read more

I have to write this new post because I used to love this store! The inconsistency at the drop off is annoying! If one of the privileged is to get a coupon when you drop off why do they not give the coupons all the time! Why does this store open later then the West Roxbury store? Management is lax in service! They do not seem to care about the customers! Management seems to change a lot! For all the donations I see dropped off why are shelves not full? Prices are like full retail prices! Years ago in my former life I never would have shopped at Savers and now I shop at one every weekend. This one is big, Clean and always packed. I have found many a good deal at this one. I went to make a donation at this location, as I have dozens of times before because it supports the Epilepsy Foundation. I arrived at 9:15 AM (on my way to work) and the donation drop off doors were propped open and a worker (Steve) was bringing in items that people had left by the door overnight when they were closed. As I walked up with my 2 bags, Steve stoped me and refused to take my items- as he was loading in others - because donation hours did not open until 10. I asked that he bring my items in with what he was loading and said "Nope, donations start at 10" and just kept loading the items that had been left overnight. I asked if I had left them by the door before his shift had started would they have gotten inside and he just repeated to me that donations start at 10. Really terrible that the Epilepsy Foundation is missing out on donations because Steve has a bad attitude. read more

I've had some not so savory experiences at thrift shops in the past. Last week I decided this place doesn't really care about customer satisfaction. After waiting in line for 20 minutes behind a group of woman who were deciding which items to buy in their collective carriages I ended up leaving empty handed. When we asked if another register could be opened we were told no and that we would have to keep waiting. After the group decided they hadn't brought enough money they made the cashier void everything and start over. We still weren't offered another register to check out at and had to just walk out of the store. If you don't know what you're going to buy, don't go to cash out, and if you don't want people to leave and not purchase anything from your store, you should open a register to scan 3 items for paying customers. read more

great shop, helpful people, however SAVERS is most definitely taken full advantage in knowing they have an increased customer base that usually just shops at SAVERS. with that being said since people are shopping less in malls and new clothing stores and more people are spending their money at SAVERS (which is GREAT) however savers is taken full advantage of that and has started price gouging the hell out of all their clothes and prices have gone up, significantly! things that were $3.99-$5.99 are now 10.99-20.99 even on things that are worn, have tears you know thing that have been loved, all dresses are now like 9.99 and up meh needles to say i am now more of a GOODWILL person. read more

So happy to see another Savers up this way. Everything is neatly organized and labeled. The prices are the same compared to other Savers. I would recommend coming here with your Savers club card when there is a sale going on. It is quite a bargain. Otherwise, expect they mark up brands like J.Crew, Brooks Brothers, Banana Republic, etc. For some reason, there is a ton of Ralph Lauren stuff for kids! They range from $4 to $9 for the dresses, shirts and pants. Not bad for designer stuff! Also, I found a pair of Gucci flats for $24 and they were brand new! By far the best savers in the Boston/RI area. Imagine my delight when the perfect after work distraction opened up down the street from the office, giving me the perfect place to stop off and wait out the evening rush hour. This savers is bright, roomy, and extremely well organized. As with most savers the largest section is of course women's clothing, but boy do they have an array. I've been able to consistently get higher quality clothing (j.crew, White House black market, banana republic, and the like) while still maintaining price points that are reasonable. I also have not seen the scenario where items from h&m or Walmart are being sold for close to their original retail prices which happens more often than you would imagine. The items here are mostly newer, so don't come looking for kitsch, there isn't much to be found. Ps DVDs are in front f the registers and someone with really good taste seems to have donated them, I got a replacement copy of ghost world for $4! read more

Savers is an interesting store, and ever since the Norwood location opened, unfortunately, it's definitely gone downhill in a major way. While this "thrift superstore" still has pretty good deals and a decent selection of products, it feels dark, dreary, and isn't nearly as clean as it was when it opened. Now, I get it. When any place is brand new, it's always super clean and organized. That being said, thrift stores always decrease in how they are maintained. This store has sections that are in shambles now, and some that aren't even attractable to go through. Believe me, I've scored some decent deals here like board games for my classroom, DVD's, office supplies (Staples binders for $2!), and even an office chair. I think I've gotten a few clothing items here as well, but nothing too outstanding. This is a cool place to check out in the area, but if you want to check out the Thrift Store of Thrift Stores, the Savers up the street in West Roxbury is larger, brighter (those big windows are what this store needs!), and has a better stock in every department. 3 stars for the Norwood Savers. I hope they improve so I can bump this review back up.... however, I'm sort of doubtful of that. read more

I love this store for seasonal clothing! They always have a bunch of stuff to choose from. However I am very disappointed with my recent trip to Savers in Norwood. I purchased Battleship and Yahtzee. My Battleship only came with boats for one player and my Yahtzee came with no dice. I essentially paid for a cup in a cardboard box. I understand that this is a second hand store but how can they rationalize selling me a game with no warning that the pieces are missing? Especially when the pieces are essayist for gameplay! I just assumed they would check the games or give a warning before having customer pay for these products. Their no return policy is also inconvenient here. It's only a $6 lost, but still a bummer. :( read more

I went in to find an emergency job interview outfit, not expecting much from Savers. I've had bad experiences with Savers in years past - disgusting stains, missing buttons and outrageous prices on low-quality items. I've only really ever gone to the household section to find weird lamps and unique mugs. But alas, necessity is the mother of invention so I found myself here 11 hours prior to interview. This place is a goldmine. They've cleaned up their selection - no gross items here! I found a skirt and a suit jacket that was a) modern, b) fit me and c) was high quality. This was exciting for me. I was prepared to pay the $18 for both pieces when the cashier said "Oh wait, this is a suit, they shouldn't have priced these out separately. $10." Sweet. Side note: the best mugs, art and tees come from this location. If you're in the market. read more

I prefer the Salvation Army to Savers any time of the week. After it first opened I found a couple of shirts for my 13 year old boy but recently after spending hours there on a Saturday was disappointed by the amount of money they were asking for what seemed to me as being junk. Went in mainly to check out the used books section. While they had a smaller selection than I expected,they still have a decent amount with neat category dividers. Huge rows of clothes and shoes but I didn't really check them out. Also have a small toy section. Just one small row of toys but found some two packs of beanie babies. Nice selection of larger stuffed toys with good pricing. Almost all were $3.99 or cheaper. Went on a Monday around 5pm. Things were relatively neat. read more

Honestly it was just OK. The staff is very nice and friendly, and the store is clean. It's the largest Savers I've ever gone to, there is a lot of merchandise to look through in every size/style. Racks aren't "stuffed", so relatively the same amount of merchandise compared to what other stores have on the floor. You can tell it's heavily picked through by resellers and the store price gauges on any item worth wild. Any current style/or brand that caught my eye was inflated in price compared to the Savers location I generally frequent less than 1 hour south. It didn't matter if it had bleach stains or had a tear, the brand made/style influenced a significantly higher price tag. I was only the area for different reasons, but paid a visit because I wanted to check out a new location. If I lived very close, I'd probably pick through again. For me, not running back. read more
