She helped us to develop a skin care regimen during our first visit. Although we did purchase some of her products, she was big on incorporating products we already used into our routines. The setup is clean and comfortable. During our visits, Michelle has provided complimentary snacks and beverages, played music, and lit candles. She is easy to talk to and creates a peaceful and welcoming ambiance. Driving to DTLA and finding reasonable parking can be stressful, but thankfully there is complimentary valet parking in the building. The Cottage ambiance was so perfect I felt like I was in a little quaint town in south of France, Deborah had prepared the room for me with beautiful candles, lighting, and the aroma and fragrance of the diffusers were just so lovely. She was incredibly professional, highly proficient in penetrating into my muscles and joint insertions, getting deep down to my ligaments and tendons that I really needed work on. I know, I know, there are some of you who go every month and more power to you- but that's too much work for lazy face here. Piel is on Ventura Blvd. and inside the RUA Hair Salon. Once inside, you go right and up the stairs. I purchased an $85 Groupon for: Microdermabrasion, LED Therapy and an Antioxidant Oxygen treatment. It's regularly $125. Lucy was welcoming. She went downstairs to get me water (facials make me thirsty!) and her little room was comfortable and smelled spa-like. It was a nice facial but I can't say it was the best I've ever had. Personally, I like to be told about what's going onto my face and a little about the procedure and what to expect- especially since I was a first-timer at Piel. I had to ask about each step, and mostly, the process was relaxing. The only part I really didn't enjoy was the LED Therapy. Lucy placed rubbery eye pads over my lids, set a heavy helmet-like thing over my face and asked me to adjust it if I was uncomfortable- which I did. But she had left the room without checking, and the helmet moved the eye pads and I laid there kinda freaked out since my eyelids weren't entirely covered by the plastic pads. I wondered if I was damaging my eyes. This was not relaxing! I will say that my skin looked really good that evening and glowed the next day. I would probably go back to Piel but I'd skip the helmet of doom...
