So! When I got my COVID vaccine shots I asked around to learn about the best hair colorists in Sedona. Many times over I heard about a couple of places, one of them being Elite. I went today to meet Kim Rose who I had spoken to a few weeks ago when booking my appointment. She is from California and was a hair stylist there for most of her career. She only recently moved to Sedona but smartly landed at a well known salon catering to color and style clients. She is planning to stay in Sedona and has quickly built up her clientele. I'm so impressed with Kim. She really took the initiative to suggest what to do especially given the natural colors that have been able to grow without color this past year. She suggested incorporating the beautiful natural light brown color of my base with low highlights to make the growth be less noticeable in between salon visits. She then painstakingly and expertly "foiled" my whole head. Quite a treat after a year, but the point is she tests listed an overall blonde look without being too blonde which is what I wanted. She perfected subtle in giving me a blonde makeover taking into account I'm not all grey and we can let the base be part of the mix of colors. Kim is a find! The salon is well run, clean, conveniently on 89A west sedona, and truly what I had hoped to find in my mew life in Sedona. I highly recommend.

But the way she treated me was unacceptable. She spoke to me rudely and pulled my hair roughly while working on it. I became so overwhelmed that I started to cry. When other clients came in, her manner toward me changed, which made the experience even more unsettling and upsetting. I stayed because I needed my hair done before my event, but I left feeling upset and traumatized, and the result was not what I had asked for either. If my late arrival was a problem, I would have understood being told she could no longer take the appointment. No one should be treated roughly or unkindly in this way.
