Went here while on a trip to Sedona with my family. I had previously looked up Reiki on YouTube and thought Sedona would be a perfect place to try it out for the first time. Paula was very kind and welcoming. I booked a 30 minute chakra balancing and Reiki session and it all went by so quickly. I nearly cried at the beginning of it, somehow I thought of my therapist. I felt good after it was over. She tried to help me clear up some lingering stuff from a surgery I had a few years ago. She recommended I look into the throat chakra and get a turquoise necklace. Communication is something I've struggled with in therapy and in life so I wasn't surprised to hear that. She also helped with my fight-or-flight response which I know is always simmering below the surface. As a physician one of the most important things to me, as I ease back into venturing out, is that my risk and exposure to Covid is still as low as possible. For me that means if I am in close quarters with someone for an extended time I would like them to be vaccinated. I had the best massage ever from Kris! I have been recovering from a systemic infection, with soreness ranging from tender to painful in my shoulders and upper arms. I scheduled and prepaid for an appointment for Thursday morning a week or so before my scheduled appointment time. I showed up on time and Paula greeted me kindly. After that, she asked me for personal medical information, which I did not have to provide but I did. She seemed to not be pleased with my answer(based on her facial expression) and asked me to wear a face covering. Due to sinus issues, and the fact that it's not a good idea to breathe in your own carbon dioxide for 90 minutes, I told her I don't wear face coverings. So she told me that surgeons wear them for hours, to which I responded that my father is a surgeon and they wear paper face coverings for blood splatter and not for any other reason. Paula offered me a paper face covering to which I declined. Due to that she told me she would have to cancel my appointment and reimburse me. I told her let's just cancel and please reimburse me for my prepaid appointment. My issue with the way Paula handled the situation is that she did not bother calling me and asking me about my personal choices prior to my appointment, for an illness which I've already had and have immunity to, instead she waited until I arrived to tell me what she wanted me to do based on her fears. She told me the information about face coverings was on her website, but I've been to plenty of places in Sedona where it's on their websites but at this point in time its not required instead its a personal choice. I didn't appreciate her wasting my time and part of my morning because of her fears. If you're a practitioner and have fears over certain illnesses, perhaps you should not be working directly with the public so you're not placing your fears unto others. I don't mind if Paula wore her face covering but placing the fear unto me and trying to get me to do what made her more comfortable in order for her not to cancel a service which I'm paying for is not ideal. I'm sure she's a gifted practitioner but she's got to be better informed about her fears over an illness which we know way more about at this time. I felt called to visit Paula--I'm glad I trusted my intuition. As soon as I walked in, I felt spiritually connected to her. Things I didn't plan on expressing just came out, because I knew she already knew. Energy blocks that I haven't addressed in years began calling out for attention.
