If you and your group don't like talking to strangers, book a private tour like we did. I noticed the small group tours and thought about our own experience, we were already bumping legs, knees, shoulders and had to jeep to ourselves and had spread out as much as we could. My teenage kids were engaged and learned some stuff about the geology and history of Sedona. Great stuff! Pro-Tip: use the restroom before you come in for your tour as they only have port a potties. What an extraordinary blast we had this evening (5-7 pm) with Tom, our tour guide at Red Rock Tours. You know, we started out as acquaintances with Tom but after an hour - we all knew this special. Tom was tremendously qualified to give us the most interesting information during the 2 hour off road route that we enjoyed so much. His knowledge was second to none as we discovered Elvis Presley's phone poles plus the entrance to his home and then that the Sedona Airport was created by John Wayne. We also stopped along the trail to become familiar with berries, leaves and twigs. We reminisced about the music of my husband's and my generation and we ended our tour with a panoramic photo taken by Tom of all of us. We had a great experience out in Sedona with Lawrence as our guide for a 3 hour vortex tour. He was super knowledgeable, warm and engaging. Lawrence took the time to get to know us a bit and curated the tour based on our intentions, needs and interests. While I'm def more on the woo woo side with my husband being more of a pragmatist, Lawrence struck the right chords and found a great balance between what the both of us were searching for. As a guide, he was very punctual and managed time well. My recommendation if you're going on this tour is to bring some water if you plan on doing some hiking. I am so glad that I found Sedona Red Rock Tours! I took one look at their web site, all of the tours and the services listed, and knew that I had found the right company to give me a Sedona Vortex tour. I called to arrange a three hour private Vortex tour, Chakra Balancing and Soul Retrieval and spoke with the friendliest, most helpful person. She set everything up for me, for the tour, she arranged for me to be picked up and dropped back off at my hotel, which was very convenient for me. We arranged to do the sessions the day after the tour and she explained that they are done at the hotel, which I was very happy about. She explained what to expect and what I needed for the tour. By the time I got off the phone with her, I was very excited and could not wait for my vacation to start! The morning of the tour, my tour guide, Patricia, picked me up at my hotel. We talked about what I wanted to do and accomplish during the tour. I had brought some crystals and beads with me to charge at the vortexes. She chose three vortexes for us to visit that would be the most beneficial for me. I am mobility impaired and Patricia was able to make the tour very easy for me and even assisted me during the tour. She was extremely knowledgeable and one of the nicest people that I have ever met. I really enjoyed her company and talked with her about so many different things. Our first stop was at the Chapel of the Holy Cross which is located on a vortex. It was absolutely breathtaking and the energy was amazing! Both the church and the views were spectacular! Patricia told me about the history of the church and about how they built it into the rocks, it was awe inspiring. We took some pictures of the church and the red rock formations. We then went to the next vortex, Cathedral Rock. The energy was very different than the first one. Our last vortex was Bell Rock. It was gorgeous and I loved the energy! At each vortex Patricia guided me through a meditation to connect with the vortex energy. She even showed me how I could tap into the energies of each vortex any time that I want. We also walked the Medicine Wheel. She told me about different kinds of wheels and what all you can do, it was fascinating! When I read about the Medicine Wheel online, I wasn't sure if I wanted to try it. I am so glad that I did! Patricia took pictures of me at each location, which I deeply appreciated. I couldn't have asked for a better tour! The next day Patricia came to my hotel to perform the Chakra Balancing and Soul Retrieval. Both sessions were fantastic! She led me through each step of the process and her technique was perfect, very easy to follow. I was at ease the entire time. I have since tried both again at home with great results. I cannot wait until my next trip to Sedona so I can try other sessions! I give Sedona Red Rock Tours my highest recommendation! I thought the "Original Vortex Tour" would include more than 2 locations, but perhaps I should have done more research. We did the vortex medicine wheel tour. I was a little disappointed for the $480 price we didn't get much more than a hiking guide. I was expecting so much more. I was looking forward to it all day. The tour was good, but the owner, Iala was not friendly and she seem to be very rude and inpatient she talked to me on the phone. She act as though she did not have time to talk to the as she was rushing off the phone to get back to another call. At times I would ask her a question or call her about something regarding the tour and she seem to be very rude. The only reason I booked is because I heard such good reviews with regarding the guides. The tour guide was great. I do wish that we had gone to Bell Rock instead of Cathedral Rock, because I wanted to build more confidence and Bell Rock is the balance of feminine and masculine energy where as Cathedral Rock is only feminine energy.
