Had my wedding here and was pretty disappointed With the services. The year leading up to the wedding Seven Canyons let go and hired 2 different event coordinators, never notifying us or apologizing. We had to go over wedding details each time someone was hired. The last person was quit the week of our wedding and again, we weren't notified. This left major details to fall through the cracks and no apologies. Now, I will admit the food was phenomenal. Chef Beau and his wait staff did all they could do to have the day as perfect as it could be. But for the headaches, miscommunication and money spent I would not recommend hosting an event or wedding here. It seems the staffing has fallen off. read more

I was on a tour of the town and needed help. I politely asked the gate attendant (near 15 Golf Club Way, Sedona) how to find the trailhead to Birthing Cave. He was unhelpful and unfriendly. He misdirected me to Mescal Trailhead but with a demeanor as if he just wanted me sent away. Turns out the trailhead to Birthing Cave is at Long Canyon Trailhead (G Maps coords: W54G+M8 Sedona, Arizona). The intersection for that is: Long Canyon Rd & Chuck Wagon Trail. At Mescal Trail, I asked around for Birthing Cave. No one had even heard of it. Even the directories don't know about it (see photo). Anyway, if you're visiting The Villas at Seven Canyons-Sedona and wish to visit Birthing Cave, park at Long Canyon TH and start hiking NW. It's about a 2 mi hike (1 hr round trip). Remember to pack ice water, hat, and sunblock, cuz it's hot and dry out there. Good luck! read more

Greens are fast and you sure better hit the ball straight or it's going to be a long day. No cart girl but you order from your cart and they deliver the drinks to you pretty quickly. Beautiful piece of heavenly land back here and to my surprise a very secluded special vortex. If you plan to visit, just look for the Seven Canyons Neighborhoods. You can also take a tour on a jeep or spiritual guide. Stop at the gate and tell them that you want to go up to Rachel's Knoll. And when you are up there, just breathe and let all that beauty sink in! Walk around the trail and enjoy the hot spot of the vortex. Whimsical trees are said to have developed this way due to the vortex. Enjoyed the meditation and chakra up here didn't feel the vortex this time but it felt special and it warmed my heart, cleared my mind, and gave me peace up here. We stayed in the villas. It was fine. Golf courses should be illegal, especially in the desert. The main attraction here is Rachel's Knoll, which is public access but you have to drive through the golf course. Just tell the people at the gate that you want to go to Rachel's Knoll and they have to let you through. Do not let the gates deter you. It is beautiful up there. Again, Rachel's Knoll is PUBLIC ACCESS. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! HORRIBLE TERRIBLE BEYOND UNACCEPTABLE!!! My husband went golfing here on Feb 3rd and had a "shotgun" tee time of noon. He checked in at the clubhouse and was told to go to a certain hole to wait until noon. He did. Then someone from the club came to get him after golfing for 1 hole and told him he had to go to another hole (what??!!!! the person was very not nice about this and was told that the pair didn't want to golf with a third person). So he moved to another hole. He was paired with another couple ...golfed for 2 holes then the same person from Seven Canyons came out and said "you need to move to another hole". WHAT??!!!!! He then got angry at the employee because this was crazy to be told twice to move around (he has been golfing for over 50 years and this has never happened. Keep in mind that it was EXPENSIVE to golf here!!!). So a manager came out to the green where he was and my husband DID APOLOGIZE for being mean to the other person and told him that he has never had this happen and wanted to not have to move for a third time. The guy told him he could stay, but the whole day was just AWFUL because of this experience. SEVEN CANYONS - HOW DO YOU ALLOW THIS? HOW DO YOU TREAT GOLFERS LIKE THIS?? My husband has golfed at many different courses (public and private) over his lifetime and this is THE FIRST TIME this has ever happened to him. DO BETTER!! The 3 bedroom Villas are Beautiful! Lots of room with great hot tub and outdoor grill and dining areas are perfect. The golf course was challenging and in excellent condition. Cocktails and appetizers on the outside deck at the restaurant was wonderful. It is a private club and you need to be a member or have a timeshare to be able to stay and or play the golf course. The red rocks, blue sky's, lush green grass and trees are magical. If you are thinking of going and have the opportunity, Just Do It! Be prepared to spend a little more than normal but well worth it for the experience. read more

This is a restaurant review. Dining with a View...we booked a reservation for Seven Canyons on Open Table after seeing reviews. We arrived for our 5:00PM reservation and the restaurant was deserted, except for one other party. That was confusing for a moment. We were greeted warmly when we rounded the bar into the restaurant. It was explained that they only serve dinner on certain nights (and this was not one of them - oops!), but we were invited to order off the lunch menu and told the restaurant is open until 6:00PM. So we stayed, and found a comfortable table in a corner window with spectacular view of red rock formations, overlooking a beautiful golf course. Our server was wonderful, friendly, informative, and efficient. She even recommended a short drive up the hill after dinner to enjoy the sunset on Rachel's Knoll overlook. We took that drive and had a breathtaking panoramic view at the end of the day all to ourselves. The restaurant was comfortable. The food was tasty. I had Baja Fish Tacos. My husband had the burger. The peach crisp with vanilla ice cream dessert was made in the kitchen and delicious. Again, the server made us feel at home and welcome, even so close to closing time. She made a difference for us! In the future, I need to research to make sure what the dining situation is for the restaurant selected, instead of assuming the hours, etc. I will. In this case, it all worked out in a great way. We dined on good food, with good service, a good view and no crowds in July 2019. read more

Seven Canyons = Heaven on Earth! Seriously... this place is magical! I feel so lucky that I've stayed at Seven Canyons - a Private Residence Club - not once, but twice... what an experience! The only reason I've been able to spend time at Seven Canyons is through a connection Jared has. Seven Canyons is not only surrounded by natural beauty, but the on-site villas are over-the-top incredible! There is no detail that was not thought of from the quality furniture, spacious kitchen, outdoor living room, outdoor shower, heated towel drawer in the master bath, jacuzzi, and more! The architecture on site is gorgeous, the golf course spectacular, and staff friendly. Work-out room is satisfactory as well... I get no cell phone coverage from Seven Canyons when I'm there, but that is a good thing - it allows me to completely zone out. I hope to return again sometime to Seven Canyons - it's such a treat. If given the opportunity to visit, run there - don't walk... and enjoy every moment! read more

My dad is a member here, so I come every time that I am in Sedona and oh my goodness, it is GORGEOUS! If you play golf, this has to be one of the prettiest courses that you will ever play on. Their restaurant and bar is great with delicious food options and even more delicious *fresh* cocktails. My favorite is their gin, mint, and cucumber cocktail. I could literally drink 10 of them because they are so fresh and go down easily! I am also a fan of their jalapeno margarita but beware, it definitely has a kick! They muddle the jalapeno which makes it nice and spicy. It is a great place to kick back and watch sports. They also have a relaxing pool area and great amenities in their locker room. The only downside is that they don't have a spa on site but you can visit Enchantment down the road if you would like to get a service! All in all, I love coming to Seven Canyons and spending quality father/daughter time at this relaxing establishment! :) Their villas are also TO DIE FOR and i'm highly considering having my bachelorette party in one of them! *You do have to be a member or playing golf to be allowed in the gates! read more

The views are stunning . The fairways were burnt and not in great shape . The rough was 6 inches long and very punishing. The greens were smooth and rolled true. The rough made the course play much longer.. it was difficult to find the range and some of the holes several holes we were driving on the street . Hole 1 is is very dangerous we had a 8.40 tee time but the 9.00 group was on the tee box . The layout is just confusing. I prefer the play oakcreek . Nestled into a magical piece of Sedona, playing golf here is a tremendous reprieve from the touristy lameness that seems to permeate this place. No dumb gift shops selling crystals, or pink tour jeeps, just a beautiful golf course. This golf course is immaculate, perfectly groomed, plenty long, challenging, and just a real pleasure to play. The views of the red rocks are with you the entire time and it is majestic. I saw a bobcat as well, pretty cool. The clubhouse is very nice, their grill room is classic and competent, and the accomodations are first class. One thing, there are Javelinas all over the place and they are smelly and terrifying. read more

OMG! This is the way a private club and golf course should operate! Where to begin? Brother in Law and I had the pleasure of driving through Sedona (ok, we forced the route to make us get there), in honor of his dad and my father in law, who as a scratch golfer, told me money and time no object would rather play golf in Sedona than anywhere else in the world. After his passing, Sedona became our golfing destination. The entire experience was beyond five stars. From my first telephone contact with the pro shop to our last goodbyes on the second day, this was truly an exceptional outing. We had breakfast in the restaurant on the first day and my poached eggs were perfectly prepared. The Rental clubs were PING G20s that made me feel like a pro, and the attendants were so kind, patient, and seemingly genuinely happy to see us! On our second day, Monday, we asked for and received an earlier tee time. The course is in spectacular shape, nestled in the beautiful Sedona red rock mountains, and I took money off my BnL, on both days, which is extremely rare! Usually I just hand him my money clip. We had lunch at the restaurant and everything was superb! Our waitress could not have been more accommodating. Btw, the deviled eggs are a must! All in all, truly First Class golf course, Restaurant, and facilities. Get there if you can! read more

We just completed our day at 7 canyons. This is a top notch venue. The golf shop was very friendly and helpful this morning. I was dressed appropriately with collard golf shirt tucked into my Bermuda length shorts and a belt. My wife did not have a proper shirt but they hooked her up with a nice club logo shirt and gave us the member price which was nice. The kitchen opens at 8am but they made us a breakfast sandwich at 7:30. It was well made and hit the spot. We then played 18 on a gorgeous golf course. It is not a long course and a few holes surrender pars easily and for better golfers you will be in birdie territory. Then there are a few holes you might think are easy until you mark that 6 or 7 on your card and wonder how did that happen. There has been a lot of rain over the last few days so some spots were soft. The greens and fairways were in beautiful shape. Unfortunately you need to be a member/guest or staying at the Enchantment resort to get access to this gem. We capped off the event with a fabulous lunch in the restaurant. Thanks to Adam (the pro) for spending time with us and filling us in the place. He is very into his course and the Sedona experience as a whole. He is a great ambassador. read more

Nine: Eat at Dahl and DeLuca Ten: Tell everyone who is inclined to listen what the experience was like. This is a Tom Weiskopf design of the highest order. Originally was going to be a Four Seasons property, they pulled out at the last moment. Cavan Group (think Estancia Club) made sure that the course was completed. I think they eventually grew to 150 or so members, with buy in over $100K, as well they offered a fractional ownership package for villas that would push the costs to over $750K. Membership was extremely exclusive, and still is. Bottom drops out of the economy. Members leave in droves. The course remains, but the question is for how long. There is no other practice facility like it on Earth. Weiskopf wanted to create a Merion-like experience for the player. If you're not familiar with Merion, Wiki it. Multiple clubs used off of various tees. Driver, three metal, rescue, iron. Plenty of risk/reward. Green complexes that are mindblowing. And an experience that you will never forget. Many golf courses are good. A few are great. Fewer yet indelibly etch themselves into the mind's eye. Seven Canyons does such due to the quality of the layout, combined with the surrounding scenery. Staying at the Seven Canyons was the highlight of my family trip to Sedona. Being new to Arizona, I was elated when my cousin and her husband invited me to stay with them at their villa over the weekend. We were treated to phenomenal scenery, a beautiful golf course to explore and the delights of the pool and spa at the clubhouse. The villa itself had many newer updates that my family was happy to notice. I was in awe over the beautiful decor, attention to detail with the home itself (flooring, light features, etc.) and of course, the comfort of the villa and all it had to offer. We were lucky enough to view an absolutely breathtaking thunder storm while enjoying the comfort of our partially covered patio. The music system in the living room to the private serenity of your own jacuzzi right by the golf course!!! AND the best part, NO CELL SERVICE!! The course is in nice shape, however knowledge of the course is needed to play well. The course has a lot of blind shots and the greens are different as well as the speed and the break of the putts. There are several greens close to the tee boxes and the noise from other players is noticeable. There two greens close together and some players hit to the wrong green. The course layout is a little tough to figure out as the next tee box is not close by and you can get turned around easily. Also, wind is a key while playing. This course is really off the beaten path and very scenic. The staff were friendly and helpful. If you play here, enjoy the scenery and don't worry about the score. read more

We were very disappointed not only with the quality of the food but the service. Our server (Sheryl) only visited our table about 3 times and when we mentioned the distaste we had for the very plain and bland vegetable risotto, she never responded. Because of the unsatisfactory service we would have never tipped the 20% gratuity that was already added to our bill. This course was recommended to my husband by a local. Even tho he had already made a tee time at another course, he decided to drive by this one to check it out to see if he wanted to play here instead. The guards would not let us in - they kept repeating "this is a gated community". Told us we could pull over and call the course - but we had no cell phone coverage there and could not do that - and they did not offer to do that for us. We heard from many locals that this course is hurting - is facing the possibility of yet another bankruptcy - well then, you would think they would want paying customers! read more

The only thing keeping this course rating from five stars is they are having financial difficulties and have opened to the public and conditioning is not what they would like. That being said, this is a must play for anyone within driving distance. Don't miss your opportunity while they are allowing public play. It would be a terrible shame to see this course closed. For the members and for yourself go play and help them while they are in trouble. Has to be the most scenic course without an adjacent ocean in the country. All 18 holes have a panoramic view of the Sedona red rocks. Even with their problems playing conditions are good and will get back to immaculate when the financial problems are resolved. Awesome course in an unbelievable location. The scenery was jaw dropping. I played at 10am to avoid the higher morning fees and played 18 holes in under 3 hours. It costed me $50 and $25 extra for a non-playing rider in the cart. The bar and grill is way overpriced so we decided to get lunch in town. One bloody mary cost us 16 bucks....I will play this course again in the future due to its pristine location and immaculate greens. read more
