The facility is beautiful and the staff from the manager to the janitors are simply outstanding. The Care Partners to a person are friendly, caring and well trained. If anything, they are slightlyl understaffed but almost every business seems to be experiencing issues keeping staff, certainly not a negative as Highgate is continuously recruiting, hiring and training their staff. We have an on-site dining facility with excellent chefs and cooks. The dining area is open from early morning to early evening with a wide variety of menu items and no fixed schedule for the most part. If you want breakfast at 5 PM, they are happy to oblige. Highgate provides handicap accessible transportation to take residents to appointments and occasional shopping excursions. Highgate has a nice gym with equipment as well at common areas for activities such as cards, games and entertainment. I would not put any of my family under the care of anyone here. This place is gross. Smells of urine. Carpets are disgusting. Maintenance is a joke. I lived here as well and waited 5 months for my kitchen light to be fixed and then it was done very half-assed. The management is a joke. The underlying policy is to sweep everything under the rug and all is well. BE VERY WARY OF PUTTING ANY LOVED ONE IN THE MEMORY CARE UNIT. Severely understaffed. Housekeepers with no training are pulled and put into caregiving not knowing what to do causing great harm to residents. Medication goes missing all the time, narcotic medication and it all just gets ignored. The ones that actually report it to the executive director lose their jobs. Someone really needs to step in here.
