We had a very wonderful stay at one of their beautiful beach homes this past spring break. Everything was clean with the usual dull kitchen knives and only a few non working appliances. Here's the problem. I get an email a day later after checkout with a picture of a broken bathroom mirror stating her maintenance person found it. She said not to worry because I purchased damage insurance and she just needs a brief statement of what happened. I was absolutely floored as we are the most careful and responsible vacation home renters in the world. I mean I got different friends banking on my family and friends to stay at their own rentals all over the world to help pay for their rental mortgages. If something broke, we would have let them know right away, offered to pay for it and with a gift of sharp kitchen knives as a sorry. This is 2026 and these iPhones now have the greatest quality and I right away went to my "exit" video and photos. I always do an exit video at any stay for proof of locked doors and windows as well as quality of rental upon exit so everything is date stamped. The mirror wasn't broken on my video and the kicker was that there was a hand towel rack with a hand towel hanging on the wrong side of the mirror on their picture compared to mine with no hand towel. There was basically no evidence of a relocated hand towel rack either. Please be very weary and always take lots of "Exit" pictures and videos if you must stay at any of this insurance fraud creating company's homes.

Missing basic kitchen utensils like a can opener. Used the pull out couch and there were a lot of food crumbs in the couch cushions. The check in process was unexpected and not clearly disclosed in the air b and b information. It was a bit of inconvenience to have to go pick up and drop off keys. I was called same day to collect a pet fee. I was under the impression it was all included in the numerous 500+ fees. I was never instructed to contact someone to pay ahead. When I got to the property a gate code was needed which was never provided, so I had to call to get. There's two different instructions for check out on in a book and one on the wall. Each had something different. When I arrived to the office there were three females at desk all on the phone and all held up a finger to me to wait a moment. I did, as I heard them banter about a broken garage door. Once that was over I was told I needed to fill out paperwork before getting keys. Overall it was a good stay but I don't know if I'd stay in a home hosted by this service.

My wife and I live on the east coast (for now) and were looking for a vacation home in Paso Robles…read more Since we would be buying a place so far away, in an area we were not too familiar with, it was as expected, scary. We were connected with John Donaldson due to his vast experience and understanding around rentals in the Paso Robles area. We worked with him for close to 9 months until he found us the perfect place. He was not pushy by trying to get us to look at places we knew we did not want. When I had questions, he was always available. When something looked like a possibility, but he knew the area was not a match for whatever reason, he would let us know. When a listing came through we were interested in, we reached out and within hours we were face-timing at the property. If we were not interested, he understood why and would move on to the next one. When we did find a place, he strategized with us on the offer and was really in our court making sure our interests were his main goal. He scheduled contractors and inspectors for us and made sure they were there to work for us to make sure we understood all risks of the property. The closing went very well and he has a lot of connections in the area, which was very helpful for someone out of state. I cannot recommend anyone more highly, that understands the Central Coast Real Estate market better, and will work harder for you than John Donaldson!

We were guest in a property that our friend's rented for a weekend. The policy stated, "no pets or…read more$500.00 fee". We were unaware of the pet policy and brought our 3lb Teacup Yorkie. Well, they stated that the dog had an accident on one of the throw rugs and it costed them $590.00 to clean and then stated that they had to replace it and showed that the rug cost near $400-$500.00. Ok, now us being the guest that didn't relate that we were bringing our dog clearly understood the rules after the fact of what their policy states of the $500.00 fee, so we paid it no questions asked. BUT, there is no way my dog created that much damage. Now if she was a lab or something bigger I could understand all that. So, now they are going after my friend again with another $590.00 bill in damages. There is NO WAY this is the fact. We paid what the house rules said. Now the other little tid bit to this stay is that we reached out to them about personal belongings that have been left in that house that is NOT cheap. They refuse to respond to our belongings. Not to mention my friend tripping over there uneven floor makeover. They are lucky we don't sue for the medical cost. Just be very careful renting from them. They will add more fees that aren't mentioned on the website of rules, no empathy or the biggest is respect and the house we stayed in isn't even remodeled correctly.

Art is, in my opinion, among the best architects in the world and this cottage is a reflection of his talent. While he did not build this from scratch, you can see his influence throughout the house and yard. It is an absolute feast for the body and soul to get away from Fresno and find yourself here. It is also close to the beech, stores and restaurants, so you can park your car and walk everywhere. If you are thinking about going to the Central Coast for a getaway, do yourself a favor and stay at Art's Main Street Cottage. We tried them as a short term property manager for a Lake Home in Hartwell. We were new STR owners…read moreand therefore had lots of questions. I really enjoyed our contact- but the owner was the issue. She was very rude to me in several occasions. She also lied outright when we had questions on pricing. We had set minimums and were told that we could adjust prices on their platform as they didn't track Clemson game weekends. I spent hours setting minimums for those weekends. Then we received several extremely low bookings for key weekends ( George Strait and 4th of July; $150 a night for the peak summer week in a home that sleeps 8). She had sent me videos on how the software worked to adjust prices . She the told me after the extremely low bookings ( prices well below our minimum)that price tool she literally sent me videos price adjustment that she "NEVER told me it worked for owners...???. So lies... ! The staff was friendly and very responsive, it's the owner. We felt like they are not geared to having lake homes as they are based in Athens. The other issue was we paid the top tier premium fee. That was supposed to include monthly inspections AC filter changes, batteries , light bulbs and such charged. In 6 months that never happened 1 time a man came and was in and out in a few minutes and didn't change the filters. All the spares were still in my closet. They also said that premium included extra insurance. When we had an issue with a guest damaging an item we got so much push back... it was $100 item and we were the told ( by the owner) we should've not had a quality appliance. After several requests they finally replaced the item. I was told the guest insurance they get charged wouldn't be applied again for damaged item. This was another concern because part her sales pitch was that they have guests pay premium so that small $ things under $1200 ( as I was premium level ) were covered. She didn't want to honor this. I think guests had ok experience. It was a struggle to get reviews. From an STR owner standpoint I would not recommend.

Due to a circumstance beyond the property managements (Scenic Coast Property Management) control I needed to be relocated. Valerie was in touch with me immediately and not only gave me four different homes to choose from, but she actually took the time to speak to me about each individual house and made sure I picked the right one for rest of my vacation needs. The house they moved me into was an upgrade as well and I was not charged extra for it. It's nice to know that I can depend on someone like Valerie and SCPM to be there if needed. I will definitely be using their services whenever I visit the central coast.
