All of the 5s are correct, the Anderson is simply amazing. The view, the comfort, the attention to detail, it more than met my expectations. It may be marketed as a stay for couples but I will say as a solo traveler who wanted a quiet premium experience it checked all the boxes.

When in Morro Bay, we always stay at The Anderson Inn. Why? The place is literally at water's edge, with an incredible view of the Bay and Morro Rock, there is no better view available. The rooms, and I'm speaking of the ocean-front or as they're aptly described "over the water" rooms (we tend to stay at the Starboard Suite when available), are not only clean and perfectly maintained, but beautifully decorated and downright cozy, with all the amenities one could ask for, including a quality pair of binoculars with which to closely watch the ample marine life parading in front of your balcony. Upon arrival, we're always greeted by a very friendly face, the staff makes it their mission to provide a trouble-free check-in experience, and remain attentive to its guests' needs throughout. There are countless activities within walking distance, whether you're after some kayaking around the bay, paddle boarding, renting a boat or taking a whale-watching tour (when in season). Or just do what we do, slow yourself down to Morro Bay pace, enjoy a glass of wine, and watch your stress melt away while enjoying a peerless view of this amazing location. You'll find yourself making plans to return the moment your stay is over.

We decided to go to Morro Bay instead of Monterey Bay and we were so happy we did and stayed at Anderson Inn. Even though we only stayed one night during our world wind/last minute PCH ride, we were so happy that we chose Anderson. The place is located centrally just feet from the bay. Clean, well appointed nice view, romantic, very nice and friendly staff. We were very satisfied with all the accommodation. Also we recommend the restaurant attached as the view and food did not disappoint. We will definitely be returning and staying longer next time! Our biggest complaint is that the neighbors ( Harbor Seals) partied all night; Just swimming and barking all night. JK, with the window closed you couldn't hear a seal fart.

Wow what an awesome place to stay! The views on the balcony are insane, which is why you come to Morro, right? For the views! Waking up to a view of Morro Rock right outside your window is epic. Plus our room faced the rock + sunset - what a combo! Wish I had taken a picture of the sunset. The manager is so kind & friendly & welcoming, truly going above & beyond to accommodate & make your stay worth while. Great service! Man, our room was so nice. We had stayed previously in a Pismo hotel, which we also loved, but the Anderson Inn felt like an upgrade. It's small & cozy, which makes it feel like you get top of the line care. When you come in, there are little chocolates & waters, and there's a fun towel whale on the bed, a nice personal touch & very welcoming. Shower is really quality, everything is super nice, robes are so soft, soap & shampoo smells great & is easy to use with the dispensers right there. I always bring my own soap & shampoo but I didn't need to pull it out this time bc they provided the good stuff. The king size bed is so soft & comfy. Slept like a baby. The AC gets the job done & is easy to control. The TV had lots of channel options, better than the last place we stayed. Parking is right below the room for us, and we had no trouble getting a good spot even though we showed up late at night. The elevator is right there & helped us get our luggage up to the room. Easy peasy Great place to stay! Great location, right in the middle of all the action. Beautiful rooms, beautiful views. 10/10 would recommend and will be back hopefully!

Anderson Inn is a small charming property that sits at the water's edge over Morro Bay. Our room had a beautiful view of Morro rock. Everything in the room was tasteful and well designed, vaulted ceiling, overhead fan, LCD fireplace that (surprise) created real heat, microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker... It was cozy and complete. The Inn is at the near-center of the tourist area on Embarcadero, with many restaurants, bars, and shops just steps away. Morro Rock is an easy one-mile walk (about 20 minutes) through the most picturesque part of the tiny town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking for guests is free, and they have chargers for EVs. Morro Bay is a tiny quaint town, essentially a picturesque fishing village, and Anderson Inn feels like a luxurious oasis at the center of it. Zero complaints. We had a great stay!

This hotel was amazing! We stayed here for our 1 year wedding anniversary and the hotel left us a note and gave us a free bottle of champagne! We chose the port side room and it was right over the water. We saw and heard sea lions, harbor seals, and sea otters every day and witnessed some amazing sunsets! The room was nice and the bathroom was big with a jet tub and a stand up shower. It was also in the perfect location near restaurants, coffee shops, and plenty of water activity rental companies. I highly recommend treating yourself to staying at the Anderson Inn! All of these photos and videos were taken from our balcony!

It was our anniversary so these nice towels. Not sure what to do with them though. Also a bottle of champagne!

Keeping Anderson in the 5 star ratings! This place is great. The folks working there are super sweet and accommodating as well. The seals get a bit loud but we also woke up to sea otters in the water right in front of us. Very cool! Had the awesome and spacious port side rooms. Great fireplace and seating area and balcony. Morro Bay is a cool place with no nightlife. That's ok though. My wife approved and we will be back for sure.

Definitely recommend the Anderson Inn. Front desk receptionist was lovely, allowing us to check-in early and providing lots of helpful information about the area. Room was a nice size, king bed, clean, great view from the balcony, and located in a walkable spot from Morro Rock, downtown, and tons of food options. Amazing stay!

My boyfriend brought me to Morro Bay for a surprise anniversary, Getaway, and I will say this is one of the best clean hotels we've stayed at. I have no complaints, and we will definitely be back. Waking up to these views from our room was just ahhhhh, so relaxing.

I found this place from searching on Yelp. It wasn't my first choice but I was glad the other place sold out. I ended up thoroughly pleased once we arrived. It was right on the water with a view of Morro Bay Rock. It was in the perfect part of town. We were able to walk everywhere for lunch and dinners. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very modern and clean. When I booked I told them it was a special occasion. When we arrived in the room they had champagne and chocolate waiting. I really enjoyed my time here. I would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic little inn right in the heart of Morro Bay. It was clean, cozy, and had a great view of the rock from our room. Upon our arrival, the staff member in the front office personally gave us a tour of our room to make sure we had everything we needed. Morro Bay is small and has no nightlife, but it is beautiful and the perfect peaceful getaway. We will definitely stay here again.

I had read several reviews for this place saying how comfortable the beds were and how nice the rooms were. At that time the nicest woman showed us every room layout they had, even let us sit on the beds to test out the comfort level. The beds we sat on were way better than the other place. We also liked the different layouts of the rooms- the one with 2 separate bedrooms and the one with the kitchenette were our favorites- but we felt, at the time we could enjoy any of the rooms. They are also dog friendly if you aren't in the kitchenette room The reviews from before talked about a wonderful breakfast brought to your room each morning. When I mentioned it, the woman said they just discontinued that- the woman who was making the items had gone back to school in the mornings. She said they would be giving each guest a breakfast voucher for various small businesses in the area. This sounded like a great way to try out new places I asked if all the rooms had a fridge and microwave. We were assured they all did We booked thru a 3rd party for this trip. We stayed 3 nights- arriving Monday around 5 pm of Thanksgiving week There was a young man in the office when we arrived who said we were the last to check in for the evening He gave us our room keys and showed us the map on the wall to direct us to our rooms. He also told us parking is first come first served. We went to our room to store our belongings before heading out to dinner. I didn't see a microwave in my room- a must for my neck and back warmer for a recent injury. I went back to the office to request one. I was told he would look for one and get back to us. He came to our room 5 minutes later saying he couldn't find one. I explained I had been promised one by the nice lady when we came to look at the inn- he said she no longer worked there. That he had only been there a week He said he would call his manager and get back to us- but he left for the night without an update We asked him how to work the fireplace- but he didn't know We also asked to not have the maids come to the room while we were out. He said they don't come at all during your stays There is a binder in the room that tells you about the fireplace, as well as the location of some lockers to get "amenities" The locker has towels, tp, tissues.... There were also bikes and body boards available for use The rooms have been updated- but once in the room, it didn't seem to us that they were done well The bathroom floor is very slippery- we had to lay down towels for safety. The shower was not hot thru the whole stay- and water pressure is almost nonexistent There is a sign up in the bathroom about a 5 minute shower- no way you would get the conditioner out of your hair with no water pressure The fireplace wasn't working well... the tiniest of red on a log- and you can't really enjoy it from the bed. The tv is mounted above the fireplace- but it doesn't swivel- so you can't see it well from the bed The WiFi is a joke The beds were not as comfy as other guests reported- more were they as nice as the ones we had been shown a few weeks ago. We were in room 3 pacifica- they showed us rooms on the other side of the hotel The 2nd day we found a nice woman working in the office who was able to bring us a microwave. She did there were about 6 in the storage area. I asked if maybe the first guy didn't know where to look- she said that's where they always keep them. She stayed to make sure it worked when we plugged it in- the whole outlet didn't work in the front room The ironing board was broken- we were going to use it as a shelf for storage. The closest only had 1 hanger in it and 1 bathrobe. Which seemed odd there wouldn't have been 2. The coffee was in tiny refillable canisters. We brought our own coffee maker and coffee so wasn't an issue for us- but we both thought it didn't seem sanitary The fridge never did get cold enough- even though we had it on the coldest setting- so we ended up mostly using our big beach cooler In the 2nd day they cut back all the palm trees- grateful the woman who brought us the microwave warned us and we were able to move our car. We asked her if they would trim the ones right in front of our room- we had several stairs up to get in our room- and the palm fronds would smack you in the face when you tried to carry your stuff in and out. They did cut that back- very helpful But we were stuck in our room while the work was done. It was very loud There was always plenty of parking We didn't feel the beds we had were as comfortable as the ones in the other side of the inn- in room 3 the queen sized bed felt better then the king When we checked out it was another young man who also seemed new and inexperienced Hoping there is more training for the entire staff so everyone is on the same page

It felt like a home! Service was great. Check in was a breeze. They have limited front desk hours (10a-6p) but if you get there later they will put your key in a locked box from the front door so you can do self check in. Make sure to call ahead if you choose self check in so you can get the code. Also, they have an emergency line available if you need anything after hours. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were able to rest well and it was quiet. The breakfast was delicious! We particularly enjoyed the Bircher Muesli, so good and refreshing and on the healthier side. I like how they have menus to choose from and it's so easy to fill out, after that, you just drop it off the night before to the front office box. My favorite part was that they had a heater in the bathroom, for someone who gets cold easily this was so convenient! There's plenty of parking and there's even a fireplace outside to relax if you'd like. They have bikes you can borrow as well. We walked everywhere and this place is the perfect spot because it was close to everything. The waterfront was only a 6 min walk while Main Street is a 3 min walk. We would definitely come back here again. Such a gem in Morro Bay! Thank you beach bungalow inn!

Many reviewers mentioned how clean the property was and how comfortable the beds were, so I came in with high expectations, especially since it has a 5-star rating on Yelp. Upon arrival, I was greeted by who I believe was the owner. She was incredibly kind and took the time to explain how everything worked, including the air conditioning and refrigerator. From what I could tell, she and her husband are the primary people running the inn, and they were both wonderful hosts. Throughout my stay, they checked in to make sure everything was going well, which I really appreciated. When I walked into the room, the reviews were absolutely right. Everything was spotless--from the bedding and carpet to the bathroom. I was also pleasantly surprised by the shower's water pressure. At many hotels it's either too weak or inconsistent, but here it was just right. The bed was also very comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's sleep. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it does exactly what it promises, especially for the price. It's clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near downtown and the pier. You can tell they've put effort into keeping it fresh and comfortable. The staff? Also...major bonus points for being dog-friendly. My pup was living his best life here. Now, let's talk breakfast. Or...my lack of breakfast. If you're plant-based, your options are basically: * Toast * Fruit * Plain oatmeal (if you're feeling adventurous) Meanwhile, my dog was over there enjoying what I like to call "my breakfast." Day one: cheese omelette. Day two: scrambled eggs and potatoes. Honestly, he was thrilled. I get that it's a standard hotel breakfast setup, but in 2026, throwing in one solid vegan option doesn't feel like a wild ask. Even a simple oatmeal bar or plant-based protein would go a long way. That said, everything else about the stay was great - clean, comfortable, welcoming, and easy. I'd absolutely stay here again... I'll just plan to bring my own breakfast.
