Decided to do this as a bit of a novelty - a different way to see a city I have visited often. I truly recommend it, the Segway is fun! Positives: Quick learning process. Several tour options and times. I got to go on the one along downtown, down the Riverwalk and the historic district (gorgeous old homes). Great tour guide (Matt). Neat view of the downtown, Riverwalk area. Negatives: None really, other than feeling kinda dorky in my helmet :) If you have time check it out. They actually have locals take the tours also. We did this tour right before Halloween. Family of four. The 2pm Ultimate Tour had nobody else on it! Private tour. Saw all the sights. Learned some local history, and even got to ride on part of the river walk (they only allow Segways on the public river walk, just south of downtown). Too fun. Abi was nice and took plenty of pics that we later downloaded on Facebook. She also let the teenage boys play around in an open space. Great time, highly recommended! read more

This was an outstanding time!  There are several interesting tours of different lengths and focuses to choose from, all led by a friendly, helpful, patient staff member.  Braeden was our excellent tour guide, and he was full of stories that informed and entertained several of us, even though we'd lived in San Antonio for many years in our younger days. The Segways are well maintained.  The staff provides clear, patient instruction in how to use them before you begin, and has routes that build from quieter areas -- including free-riding in relatively unpopulated parks -- to busier ones, giving you time to get used to the machines in calmer settings first.  The staff also provides careful handling of the group through crowds and road crossings -- really, at _all_ times, but the crowds and road crossings stood out as most importantly to me. Groupons can help with the price. It's still pricy, but it was well worth it to me, and I look forward to touring with them again! read more

This was a really fun impulse tour. We signed up about an hour beforehand for the downtown rider tour that leaves at 6p and lasts for 90 min. There is usually a Groupon for 50% off this ride (it was $35 for one, $65 for two instead of $65/$130 when we went) so if you are looking to try out a Segway tour this is a really cheap way to go. They spend about 15-20 minutes teaching you how to use the Segway and getting you to sign waivers and letting you practice on the Segway inside and outside the office. The tour itself was a ride to one park, riding around for 20 min, then a ride to another park and more of the same, then riding back. There was supposed to be a third park but someone got injured (scraped elbow) horsing around and they had to bandage him up so we ran out of time. The Segways are fun and the guide (Paulina) was nice and helpful. There wasn't a lot to see on the "tour" and an hour and a half isn't that long, but I would definitely do it again for a longer tour. read more

We had a great time going on the haunted ghost tours with or guide, Al. He tried to keep my mind off of driving the Segway. Along the way he gave us pieces of history with photos. (That was the awesome part because usually on ghost tours, you don't get to see any ghosts.) We had a few rough patches along the way; my mom fell on the street and it was either hop off and help or run her over. She's fine though. And yes, I helped her up. :) read more

I coordinated a group tour a little over a week ago. It was well organized and our group had a great time. All of the guides were informative and friendly. I only gave it 3 stars due to the fact that I had an accident on my Segway, I took a cab to my hotel and SegCity never reached out to make sure I was ok. Considering I was the organizer of the event and they had my contact information, I thought that was not a great customer service moment on their part! Amanda was a great guide! I gotta say though, that the girl in the store behind the counter was a bit rude and spoke "at" us, with a disparaging kind of condescension in her voice. She is the reason for 4 stars instead of 3. Our group of 7 took the morning Ultimate Tour. The "training" was inside the office, and fairly simple. Just enough to make you feel comfortable with the machine if you havent ridden one before. Amanda was very knowledgeable about the locations we visited, and since she grew up in the city there she was able to put in a few great remarks that others may not know about. This tour company is fantastic. They start off with a very informative training lesson and make sure everyone feels comfortable on the Segway first. Then you get to fly by people on the Segway while seeing all the amazing sights in San Antonio. Our tour guide was Emma. She was absolutely amazing!!! Definitely ask for her if you can. She was very knowledgable of the city and very caring of her job and her tour guests. All in all I would highly recommend this company and tour. The Segway tour was fun. Our guide was new, his 2nd tour, but he had the highlights he wanted to cover, and we got to see a lot of the landmarks of San Antonio. My parents and I did a tour with SegCity on our first morning in San Antonio. It was a wonderful way to get an idea of places we wanted to visit later on, spend more time at, and get an idea about how everything in the area was layed out. We had Morgan as our guide and she was wonderful! Our tour guide was Joseph and he was great. My wife and I did the 2.5 tour which was perfect timing. Once you go through the extensive training and walkthrough you still end up with two hours to tour San Antonio. This was a great way to see the city. The hop-on hop-off bus would have been fine, but this was way more fun. Joseph did a great job of making my wife feel comfortable on a Segway since she's never been on one before. Within 20 minutes she was a pro. The tour took us all over San Antonio and we learned lots about the city. Good way to see the downtown area, although you don't get to stop and sightsee, it does orient you to the city. We rode around downtown, the riverwalk, the old market, the hemisphere area and the historic district. Riding is fun and easy, but very hard on the feet (constant standing). $75 each for 2 hours. (plus 30 minutes alloted to training, which we didn't need because we've done this in other cities). They provide water and take photos which are available for free online. You are always with a guide. I would have liked more free ride time as we are experienced and wanted to ride more than we wanted a tour, but it was a lot of fun and I highly recommend. Book ahead if you have a group. This was a terrific activity to do with my 16 year old grandson. I am a Granny, but have no difficulty on the Segway. read more

This is a must tour before you grow too old to experience it. Balancing on a segway takes a little experience before you can really enjoy it but then you just want to take off and not stop. We toured the theater and old hotel across the street where some of the more famous actors stayed during their performances. We stopped at the old church across from city hall and learned that the cross atop the old section of the structure is the center of San Antonio. This was the first of two stops we made where we got off and stretched. Then we took the river walk to King William district to tour the beautiful old Germann homes that were built in the 1800s. After another stretch of the legs, we ended the tour at the Alamo. It was worth the cost for the experience of being on a segway. If you decide to do it the experience will no doubt be with you a long time. I came into town for a couple of days with a friend who had never been to Texas. We looked into tours so we would get more out of our sight seeing. Of the three tours we did this was by far the most enjoyable. Adrian was our guide and he made it a great experience. He had a good personality and was knowledgable. I was a little nervous at first but they did a great job at explaining how to operate them safely. We stopped at a park in the beginning where we got to get a feel for how to ride and the rest was easy. We did the Ultimate tour which includes a ride down the river walk. I believe this is the only Segway tour company that takes you on riverwalk so that part alone, among other reasons, you should choose them. I've been to San Antonio many times growing up but I saw parts on this tour I had never seen or heard about before. Also it's way more enjoyable on the Segway instead of walking. Tips I would give is to dress for warm and cool if you are doing the 9am tour like we did. I also enjoyed this time because we didn't have to fight much foot traffic as I would imagine later tours do. Would definitely recommend and even try again when visiting. read more

Very knowledgeable and polite tour guide Brendan, and patient and friendly receptionist (Jennifer?). I took the executive tour, and learned a lot about San Antonio from Brendan, -- he interleaved history with anecdotes in such an interesting way that the introduction is neither boring nor silly. :-p In addition, Brendan is a great coach that I started enjoying riding the Segway (i.e., feel safe and not too nervous) after the first 30 min or so. Oh, very importantly, definitely try those restaurants that Brendan recommended. I tried two with my friends, and everyone enjoyed them. Very positive experience. Strongly recommend. read more

Our first trip to San Antonio was also our first time on a Segway. They say it is like riding a bike. Let's just hope you can ride a bike. After I got over my nervousness about being the moron that can't ride a Segway life was good. It took some time to get used to it but the guide did a great job of building up my confidence. We lucked out that we were the only 2 people on the trip. We went around the city and ended up at the Alamo. We chose the one hour tour because I was not sure how I would like the Segway. The best part of our trip was the guide. She was incredible. Very outgoing, knowledgeable and open to talk about whatever. I even noticed how interactive she was with those people on the street and other San Antonio citizens. I am going to claim mid-life moment here and admit that I can not remember her name. However I can tell you she is getting married in September and her colors are purple and forest green. So whoever you are, you did an AWESOME job and I would recommend that if you are ever in San Antonio buck up and take this tour, it is so worth it. The Segway is honestly easier than you may think, that coming a totally risk averse person. Bonus: They take pictures for you during the tour and DO NOT charge you for them. A little late on this review since we rode last month...we had some friends in town so we did the Ultimate tour which is their longest tour and loved it so much! We've actually taken Segway tours before in other states but this one was the best yet, despite it being in our own city. Our tour guide was great and clearly knew his stuff about the city and riverwalk. The tour we did takes you on the riverwalk which we were a little worried about at first. It is a different part of the river though, away from all the crowded areas so it was not a problem and very pretty! Loved going through the King William district and seeing all the historic homes too. When we first rode Segways a few years back in California I remember being super nervous but the guide at Segcity was very patient during training with our group even with our first timers who were a bit apprehensive. All in all I definitely recommend it and we'll certainly be back with others! read more
