Have you tried the bentos from Sasaki Shoten? You can only get them at Seiwa on weekends, and honestly, every single one is delicious! The best part is they're under $10, so the value is amazing. I literally go to Seiwa just to grab these bentos Highly recommend!

Small little store, but packed with Japanese items! The first time I went, they did charge me different from advertised price, but now when I go, I check everything. Their prices are not too bad! I saw them on a YouTube channel and the guy got the soft shell crab roll. The chef makes it fresh! You pay first, then go back to the chef. This is what I came for! The other premade sushi's and bentos are delicious as well! Take it and go to the beach for a picnic!

It's incredible on how many Japanese groceries you can find within two blocks in the city of Torrance and unfortunately Seiwa is the least sexy Japanese grocery of them all. [Pros]: Cheaper prices on drinks like Ito En. They have a hot deli and it operates from 10 AM to 1:30 PM (except Sunday). You first pay in advance at the cashier and show the receipt to the back kiosk. The preparation takes 10 - 15 minutes and hot food options include miso katsu donburi, softshell crab roll, hand roll trio, and curry bowl. [Cons]: Smaller grab-and-go sushi and bento selection. I got a poke bowl and it had no avocado (just seaweed, snapper, tuna, salmon, octopus, yellowtail). Quality wasn't bad, but it didn't feel like a value buy. Garlic chicken karaage bento boxes were on sale ($6.49 each), but they were all sold out. Mitsuwa Marketplace at Del Amo Fashion Center and Tokyo Central have much better grab-and-go options. I will only come here if I want change of pace and get some hot deli items.

Found out about this market because of the FB Uni special AD :) The market has a great selection of beverages and cookies/snacks. The fresh-made sushi deli was closed on Sundays so I didn't get to try the softshell burger. We got futomaki and a sushi platter, with a tray of the Hokkaido Uni. Sushi was fresh, the Hokkaido Uni was to die for! I was happily surprised to find lots Made in Taiwan items in the market, including childhood favorite tea, ready to serve tofu soup packet etc. There were also lots of ready-to-eat Ramen packets and hot hot packets. Love those items, they are lifesavers on weekdays when you don't want to cook after a long day of zoom meetings! Noticed the fresh produce section is a bit smaller compared to other markets, even though they still have the most common items in good quality, fair price.

I think it's time I left a review for this store since I've been coming here for at least two years now. This is my absolute go to Japanese marketplace because it has great prices, it's convenient, and the staff are always so nice and are always willing to locate an item with no hesitation. Now, if Seiwa owners could find it in their hearts to give us one of these stores in Ventura County if not in the valley, I will find a way to give you 6 stars. In fact, I'll help you hunt down potential locations. Call me!! Let's do this.

I love this place. They' have good food quality and their prices are very reasonable. The cashiers are very nice and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good quality food. They have some very nice weekly specials as well.

This review is for the to go options alone. But wow I was not expecting such quality cuts of fish for the price. I came here after a bike ride on the boardwalk and I came ready to eat. There were so many choices and I was having difficulty picking the donburi or the sashimi plate. I went for the sashimi plate and opted in for 2 onigiris for some rice. Was definitely not disappointed. They even had a section for Hawaiian style meals. I went into it with low expectations as I've had similar plates from mitsuwa and Tokyo central, but this was by far THE BEST. The fish was extremely fresh no fishy taste or slimy textures, it was definitely restaurant quality. I recently went to wadatsumi down the street and can say that this over the counter sashimi plate was equal in comparison as far as taste and quality. Will consider making this a ritual after every run or bike ride. lastly the cashier was very bright and accommodating. She was very energetic and seemed happy to help you.

Great selection of bento boxes and sushi sets! Food is authentic, delicious, and very affordable. Items are regularly rotated so you won't be stuck with the same options every time. Their chirashi is awesome and highly recommended! If you can wait, all good items are 20% off after 6pm each day.

New favorite grocery store. So many unique drinks they even had dairy free Boba milt tea in a can. wonderful selection of noodles, tofu, etc.

I found their prices slightly cheaper than that at Mitsuwa, as long as the items weren't on sale at Mitsuwa.

It's a very big store that somehow doesn't look as big from the outside, but there are so many things to highlight from here. We were in a city nearby but decided to stop by here because my friends wanted to buy some ingredients. This store was a delight for me as it was so big!!! My favorite section was the many Japanese merchandise of clothes, plushes, and desserts!!! It was super tempting to not buy something haha and I ended up grabbing the box of iconic mango ice cream popsicles!!! It was super yummy and was to my full liking. We ate it straight from the box because we didn't want it to melt in the car ride home. It was super refreshing and delicious. Other highlights was the hot foods bar and lots of Japanese beauty products.

The thing that's good about going to Tokyo central for premade sushi is that they make all their sushi fresh daily and what's not sold is marked down and got rid of before next day compared to other markets where they sell their sushi that's like 2-4 days old. They went viral for awhile for having a hot food bar, which looked like a buffet but in reality you grab what you want but it's $15.99 a pound. The pound adds up really quick and you end with paying like $30. The food isn't that great in the hot food bar in my option so I'd skip it. The market itself is very pricey it's not a cheap market. So if your planning on buying grocery your gonna pay high prices. I'd go here for a quick sushi roll or some mochi they sell a bag from Japan for $3.99 with red bean that's pretty good. One of my favorite food item is the umami chicken karage with rice that's pre packaged and if you can snag it while it's still hot that great. Its usually on a separate table on in the refrigerated section, It's the one with some teriyaki sauce over it, not the regular one. As you exit you can grab utensils, napkins, wasabi. ginger, soy sauce. Parking is a hit and miss, it's a popular market if you go there at lunch time it's packed or weekends. Personally I drop by to get a quick bite, sushi roll or chicken karage . They do have a food court that has a Japanese bakery, takoyaki , a katsu place. Upstairs they have a sushi bar which is unique I havnt tried it but seems a bit pricey but looks like quality. Looking for something Japanese in food wise, this would be one of the places to go to look for it. I don't know why it seems like every Asian market I've been to is so cramped and hardly any space when trying to get around with a cart. It's the same here.t

Every time we come in here it really looks like they don't love their job. They are not friendly but the food is okay. I've decided just to stop coming to this store altogether. The deli's friendly where you can get sliced meats but the meat department they always seem to be unfriendly, this smoke shop they definitely don't have customer service in mind. I don't go to a place to get perfect service. But it does seem that this place is starting to slip with how they treat a customer who wants to spend money.
