I love me a spacious, well-stocked Mitsuwa at lunchtime. Their fresh food options - especially their sushi and sashimi - are always a delight. Personally, I prefer the options at Marukai, but I appreciate that Mitsuwa is larger with more variety. There's a microwave somewhere on premises if you happen to buy something that needs to be warmed up, too. Besides the fresh food and hot entrees, you can always count on this Mitsuwa to have an assortment of Asian beverages and snacks. I don't recommend coming too hungry, because you will easily leave with multiple bags of goodies to indulge in later. The cashiers are efficient and the stockers keep the shelves plentiful - what more can you ask for? Parking is a breeze. There's free parking in the lot, though it can get busy during peak hours. read more

In Northern California we only have one Mitsuwa in San Jose, and its food court is nowhere near as good as the one in Torrance. Like any Mitsuwa Market, they offer a great selection of Japanese specialty goods, but the food court, and the space to sit and enjoy it, is what really sets this location apart. If I'm staying anywhere near this Mitsuwa, I can easily see myself coming back multiple times to work through the menu, from tendon to beef bowls to ramen. read more

I like Mitsuwa. My first visit was a location in NJ years ago. I headed right over when I visited Torrance for the first. Big selection and my favorite thing are their Japanese desserts in the deli section. One thing that is a big con is that parking situation. Despite a large lot there isn't enough available parking. Ever seen an Asian Mall within an American Mall? Del Amo Mall basically proudly has their pride and joy, super cool Asian baby in the form of Mitsuwa Marketplace! It's crazy because back in the days, this section used to be TJ Maxx and then I believe ... Q? This particular Mitsuwa stands out simply because it's in this legendary mall. So damn random to have an Asian grocery store mixed with actual restaurants and anime stuff inside of it as well! They also have a really nice shaded outdoor patio to enjoy your meals. It's as if a 99 Ranch Market had sex with a Target and Del Amo Mall to make a mini triple mixed baby mall. Old and young Asian and non-Asians F'n LOVE this place because it feels like you're in a totally different multiverse side of Del Amo Mall. It's pretty damn awesome, plus I love their random sales at the grocery section! Customer service and cleanliness is always flawless here, even when it's just as hell. I honestly still very much miss how the old Del Amo Mall was, but this implementation of this Mitsuwa is something that even the oldschool era would've loved! read more

What a fun place to shop! They have everything you can imagine from grab and go foods to fresh veggies and self care items. In it they have mini shops a couple sweet and bakery shops. This Mitsuwa location is definitely bigger than my usual one in Irvine. The store is stocked with all the various Japanese products. Staff is busy keeping the store stocked. Overall the market is bright and clean. Like all other Mitsuwa markets there is a section to pick up food and lots of cold Japanese drinks. Which is convenient if you didn't want to wait in line at the food court. There is ample parking compared to some of the other locations, which was nice. read more

I came here with some others to get Ramen while they got other foods. The marketplace has a variety of options whether you shop, eat, or both. I got the Ramen from Hokkaido Ramen Santouka and the ramen wasn't bad. There are also stores like Books Kinokuniya and Gashapon where you can shop for gifts and merchandise. Some things to note is that the place is busy, parking is scarce but not very scarce and the restrooms aren't very busy. Definitely go there and bring others with you if you can. read more

Mitsuwa is easily one of my top two favorite Japanese marketplaces. They always have great sales going on and carry a ton of Japanese exclusive, limited-time items, which makes every visit feel a little different. One of my favorite parts is the Gachapon corner -- it's fun to browse and always has something new. They also have Kinokuniya (the bookstore), which is perfect if you want to look at cute stationery, magazines, or books. The food court is another big reason I love coming here. Whether you're craving ramen, curry, or something sweet, there's always something that hits the spot. I usually grab some sushi, and it never disappoints. On top of all that, you can do your grocery shopping in one trip. It's just one of those places I always enjoy coming back to. read more

Went to this branch for the first time. It is located by the Del Amo Fashion Mall. The closest landmark I could say is by Macy's. There is a lot of parking space right in front of the grocery store. This location is so much bigger than the ones close to me. Food is good but I wish there were more choices to choose from. Definitely one of the best Mitsuwa out there. They have a food court, a Kinokuniya Bookstore, and other shops and food places. It's incredible and huge and wish the one in Northridge was like this, or at least had a food court. We've only been here a handful of times due to the drive. They always have great stock of what we need as far as grocery items and bento, even Pokémon figures! The staff are friendly and everything is also so clean and organized. They even have most of the side of the grocery closed off so you are forced to enter/exit through a little area to your right, as soon as you walk in. The food court is always a must try! This is one of my favorite Mitsuwa location I have visited since moving to this state. It has a big parking lot right in front of the storefront. Ample outdoor and indoor seatings are also available to enjoy many of their ready to eat meals, sushi, onigiri, food court items from Tempura Carlos Jr just to name a few. Unlike the other Mitsuwa locations I have visited in San Diego, Costa Mesa, and/or Irvine, the store is brightly lit and well air conditioned. It feels nice and clean as soon as you enter the store despite the somewhat limited selection of groceries. I love how the Hamadaya in the Torrance/Del Amo location offers custard puddings and custard donuts. Both my favorite in the region as they taste fresh and not too sweet. It's also nice I can go to Kinokuniya located right within Mitsuwa. It has a nice selection of stationary items, gifts, and actually hot off the press Japanese novels IN JAPANESE. Jesus Christ I had no idea so many other locations only has anime crap in English and very disappointing. The service here is also great in the sense that I never needed any help. What I want is readily accessible in stock and self checkout so easy to use. Looking forward to revisiting again this weekend. read more

I was intrigued to find out what this store was so I wandered in and yo and down the aisles. Growing up in the Michoud neighborhood of New Orleans, I saw many snacks from my childhood. I grabbed me some salted rice crackers, a delicious sparkling apple wine, and Korean Soju. Afterwards, I went to the food hall to eat. I was not familiar with most of the items being served so I asked a nice girl next to me in line. She helped me to understand some of the offerings. I ended up just asking for Shrimp Tempura. I got a bowl of 2 shrimp tempuras, tempura okra, tempura jalapeños, and some other veggies I did not know. It wasn't very tasty or enjoyable. But, that's definitely more of my opinion since I wasn't familiar with the restaurants offerings. Mitsuwa Marketplace is a Japanese grocery chain and this location is now located at the Del Amo mall. There was a time that it was located near Carson; however, it's moved to the mall and they're never looking back. My favorite thing about this mall is their underrated food court featuring ramen, sukiyaki beef rice bowls, tempura bowls, yakitori, udon, and mochi donuts. Each of these restaurants are delicious and I could live off these restaurants if I wanted to. The thing is that eating at restaurants can be expensive, so the silver lining is that I could buy all the Japanese ingredients at the grocery store so that I could make it at home. They have high quality fish and meat, hard-to-find Japanese ingredients, and baked goods. I am hoping that the incoming tariffs doesn't hurt the business here too much; however, this place remains as a top place for me to find Japanese ingredients. Torrance has an abundance of Japanese grocery chains and, admittedly, this grocery store is one of the smaller options (which is why it is four stars rather than five); however, I do think that they have enough selections to address most of my needs! read more

First, the food is delicious. The takoyaki always hits the spot. The peach tea was a refreshing finish to the meal all together. Loved the gyudon and the rice is cooked well. Today I had a pleasant meal and I love visiting this marketplace for a quick snack or convenience. Now onto the service, I have no complaints since I had good experiances everytime. Was so excited to visit the new Mitsuwa-but I was very disappointed. Food court looks amazing but the market itself was underwhelming and small. It's a good place to go if you just need to make a quick run to pick up an item or two. Produce section extremely small, no sashimi (maybe I went too late) but there was nigiri, poke bowls, some bento. It's not a store I would go shop for my Oshogatsu needs or weeky shopping. But if I need to get a bag of rice or something, it's convenient. read more

Mitsuwa Marketplace is mainly a Japanese grocery store but also has other grocery products, a food court, a Japanese bookstore, and a gachapon station. I love how modern and clean it is, although it looks bigger than it feels especially when there's a lot of people in it. Since I'm not from the area, I mainly went for the food court area and the gachapon machines. The only down side was they start closing off the dining area kinda early even though there were still a lot of people eating and a few food places were still open. The food court area had all types of food: Ramen, curry, udon, mochi donuts, korean hotdog (corndog), etc. It's worth checking out just to have lunch or a snack there. I was also able to find cute Japanese snacks as well as Japanese skincare and makeup! They also have different flavors of Choya Plum Wine which I haven't seen in other states. If you love the gachapon machines I recommend you visiting but be warned it's kind of expensive just for miniature figurines and trinkets. read more

The addition of this Mitsuwa nearly a decade ago was a great way to activate life back into this section of the mall. I appreciate that there are parking time limits in front of this market so that the spaces aren't filled by folks spending the whole day at the mall. This makes it easy to visit Mitsuwa. The market itself has all the goodies you would expect to see at a Japanese grocery store. I like the food court and the outdoor patio. It's surprisingly large and can fit a lot of people. read more

If there's a Mitsuwa I'm nearby, I always make sure to stop by. Love the marketplace and all of the small businesses in the same complex, as well as the food court that they always have. Good variety and diversity and this is one of the better Mitsuwa's by far. Just wish I had more of a time to explore it without having to rush home and that it wasn't so far from me! It more or less shares the same area as the Del Amo Fashion Center, making it an easy stop for snacks or more food options because of the food court and man does the food court have options. There's premium grade matcha soft serve, the J Sweets with the fancy Japanese confectionaries, Hamadaya Bakery, mochi donuts, a plethora of food court restaurants (udon, tempura, soba, ramen, various don, ramen, Korean corn dogs, etc.), etc. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating too. The market itself is decently sized with all of the standard Japanese grocery fare, household goods, snacks, drinks, etc. They also have their limited/seasonal item festivals too.
