Went with a group of friends and had an excellent time with Christian on the Lex Sea. It was a day trip and we traveled far to chase yellowfin tuna near the Mexican border. Being new to this fishing stuff, the owner/operator Christian made the trip very pleasant, teaching us how to fish and helping the four of us catch fish and have fun. The boat is very fast, safe and stable. It also had room down below to take a nap, which we did while the fish were being filleted and put on ice. Spent a full day over Thanksgiving break with Captain Christian on the Lex Sea. Christian definitely went above and beyond to make the trip enjoyable for us. There were 3 adults and 1 child in our party. From putting on bait to casting out, he made sure our 10 year old (and the rest of us) was well taken care of throughout the entire trip. We went on a full day trip with Christian. He lived up to our expectations and we caught 30-35 bonitas, 1 yellowtail, and 4 bass. We had two boys and all of us were fairly beginners in fishing. He was patient with the boys and helped us a lot teaching us and helping us with our fishing rods. I plan on coming back because Christian is a stand up guy and runs a great operation. My buddy and I took our sons all day fishing with Sekas Sportfishing. There were four of us guests total. We had an awesome trip. The boat is the biggest small boat I have ever fished on. Captain Sekas was super professional, and took great care of the kids. He has some big game spinning set ups that the kids could cast with. We caught lots of fish and got to nap on the way in. It was really neat to go fishing at one of Southern California's channel islands. The fish we caught were properly cared for, bled and iced. The Captain prepared our catch for the table. Jumped on the Lex Sea with Sekas Sportfishing to take my father and brother fishing for Father's Day. My first impression after speaking with Christian on the phone was how nice he was. We got down to the harbor at 430 and found the captain getting the boat ready for the day. After helping us with our gear and tying up all of my rods (he did this without me even asking!!!) we left the harbor a few minutes earlier than expected. My first thought after getting onboard was how strong and sturdy the boat felt. A very impressive and well built full fiberglass hull with a 100 gallon bait tank! I've never seen a better bait tank on a boat of that size. TONS of rod holders for plenty of storage out of the way. My brother took a quick nap in the spacious bunk room and off we went to San Clemente Island. We fished all day, hooking up to Calico bass, bonito, and lots of big healthy yellowtail. Every yellowtail we got up to the surface we got in the boat with precise gaff shots from christian, which were quickly bled and put in the icy kill bag. The captain worked tirelessly metering around the island and throwing tons of baits to get the fish activated. After putting a bunch of big Yellowtail on deck, he even stayed at the island longer than we were supposed to. This paid off rewarding us with another double hook up on 20 lb yellows! Both caught by my dad and brother. Nothing could have made me happier than seeing those two hook up on big fish. After a very pleasant ride back home, jamming out to kickass music and sharing life stories, we made it back to the harbor where Christian worked his fillet magic and sent us home with beautiful fillets and even cut the collars and bellies off the fish for us to grill up and slice sashimi. We finally tied back up to the dock and Christian pulled out a fresh 6 pack of ice cold beer to cheers a kickass day on the water. all in all Sekas Sportfishing is a top notch operation with a captain fueled with a love of the ocean and a desire to put his clients on quality game fish. I will absolutely be jumping on board with Christian again, and am already planning on a few more private charters this year so I can let the rest of my family enjoy the luxury of fishing on the Lex Sea. read more

Recently went on a private 4 person charter with Christian at Sekas Sportfishing. First and foremost, Christian exemplifies how an ideal fishing charter captain should be. Christian answered all our questions prior to us making a reservation, clearly communicated the reservation process, how to prepare for our trip, and was simply cool to talk to while on the trip. Best of all when it came to the fishing, Christian did not hold back in his efforts to put us on the fish. There was no lollygagging, waiting for fish to come around, trying to conserve gas, etc. Christian was determined to put us on the fish from the get go and he did exactly that! Unless the spot we were on was biting, he was pulling up the anchor and had us promptly moving to another spot that was. There was never a moment when any of our party felt like we were sitting on a spot for too long or we were moving to spots with no potential just for the sake of making it seem like an effort was being made. It was completely the opposite. We all felt Christian worked immensely hard throughout the entire trip to make it a successful and memorable one. Christian definitely succeeded in doing that. Fishing with Christian at Sekas Sportfishing was by far one of the best private charters the members in our party has experienced. read more
