I am…read morehuge on viewing reviews, patience, and professionalism before deciding who to seek estimates from. Diego, the owner, was all that and more. From the time on the phone and when at my house explaining all the entriquete details of the job and materials, I knew he was the one I would hire. I first looked at the reviews and didnt see a single bad one. I know why. I had called others and even on the phone their phone etiquette was atrocious, so I didn't even bother. Being a woman, he never talked down to me, never rushed me, didnt mind explaining things to me again when I asked. He was super courteous and had a welcoming smile. I felt extremely comfortable from the beginning through the end. He completely redid my fro t steps and the concrete of my garage. I would like to see if there is a way to post before and after pics for both jobs because I truly think that can make a difference whem deciding and selecting a mason. Either way, hire Diego. His workers were also as equally nice and worked very hard. They, too, arw to be commended for their work. The prices were also very reasonable. I had other estimate and it was way too high. Diego is your man for your masonry work. You wont be sorry. I have other work that needs to be done and i have already saved the number for my future projects.

My wife and I were looking for a landscaper to pull out weeds and other pest plants on our property…read moreand do periodic landscape maintenance, as we are unable to keep up with the weeding. I found Vantage Landscape on the internet and called them up. Luz (Lucy), the office manager, answered my call, and I learned that we were just outside of their service area, but she would ask the owner Whander if he would be willing to drive to our property to inspect the situation and possibly provide a quote. Luz called back later, and stated that Whander would not be able to do the maintenance work, but would be willing to provide a quote for the initial weeding. Whander showed up on time and we walked through my property. He noticed that we had two vines that were wrapping around our evergreen trees that need to be removed. He also proposed planting a Hydrangea in an area where the weeds would be pulled. After Whander spent about 30 minutes looking over my property and answered my questions, he said he will write up a quote for the work. It took a few days to get the estimate, with Luz was doing her best to make sure it was submitted. Vantage Landscape uses an online software to present the estimate, so it's pretty easy to access the document. As of this writing, I am comparing Vantage's quote with other landscapers' quotes, but if you value good customer service and are in their service area, it would be worthwhile to give Vantage a call. Vantage was first one of 4 landscapers I called who actually replied!

DO NOT USE! I paid a lot of money for landscaping that still looks poorly done. The tree layout is…read moreuneven, one was completely forgotten and later planted by hand, and now it's visibly misaligned. The spacing makes the entire front yard look unfinished and thrown together. I was told the boxwoods would fill in within a year; it's been two years and they've barely grown. That was either completely unrealistic or just flat-out misleading. The edging and flower bed work is sloppy and uneven. There's no attention to detail, and it shows. Communication was just as bad. Calls were ignored, and when he did respond, it was with "what do you want to talk about?" -- which is not how you speak to a paying customer. At one point, it honestly felt like his own worker knew more than he did and was trying to guide him, but he didn't listen. This wasn't a one-time mistake, it's a pattern of poor workmanship, lack of knowledge, and unprofessional behavior. Save your money and hire someone who actually knows what they're doing.

I can't say enough about the excellent work done by Cosmo Landscaping. Unsurprisingly, the owner of…read morethe company is a guy called Cosmo, and working with him was a real treat not only because he has such a delightful name, but because the work he does at the price point he offers is unparalleled. Communication, affordability, flexibility, efficiency, assiduity - that's the package you get with Cosmo Landscaping. But what you really need to know is I moved into a new house with a disaster of a backyard - it was full of random old bricks, tiny pebbles, and the corpses of about ten -thousand lantern flies. Those little pebbles I mentioned - man - they were everywhere - and were sort of cheap stone you might expect to find at the bottom of a fish thank rather than sprinkled about your yard like a badly decorated cake manufactured by a kindergartner with free reign of the confectionery cupboard. Alas - such was my yard. And I wanted it fixed - bad. I brought in all kinds of troops. Old friends with big debts to pay who I hoped might do me a favor, family with construction business experience, and even a half dozen landscapers and contractors who all promised the world tied up in a pretty pink bow that would fit right in my backyard. But I didn't trust a single one, until Cosmo showed up. The first thing you gotta know is that I'm not easy customer to please. I can do a good bit of construction myself, and like I say, have the soldiers to rely on should I need a hand. But the thing I don't have is time, and so I hate hiring a guy to do a job that I could have done myself (with a little help from my friends) only to find out the job was done half-assedly and worse than I would have done myself. Cosmo came to give me an estimate in the middle of a horrifying blizzard and stood outside with me for ages thinking through exactly how the project should look. I had half a dozen cockamamie ideas that he talked me out of - thank YHWH - and he even used a bunch of old garbage leftover from the previous owners to demonstrate and help me visualize the ideas he had and to talk me out of my own disastrous line of thinking. Well, long story short, we had a lot of back and forth about the price, the objective, how it would look, the features, and he was good enough to trust that I could handle a good portion of the preparatory labor - so he worked with me on that and we got the job rolling and over a period of time we transformed my yard from no-mans-land to a wee urban oasis. The proof is in the pudding, as they say (see photos below).
