Much of the time, I was being monitored by a junior person. With Pat, she demonstrated more exercises and ones that were more targeted to specific needs. For each of the exercises, she provided a diagram of the exercise along with instructions that went into a folder for me to take home. She also approached them developmentally, with easier ones forming a foundation to the point I could do more challenging ones. Something I hadn't had before was that Pat created reports for my physicians that detailed my deficits and my progress. I am very active in my health care and felt a definite partnership with Pat rather than just being another client.

Never really knew what was wrong, and was always advised that getting it looked at would probably mean surgery, which would mean post surgery pain for the rest of my life. Not very helpful advice over the past 14 years of my life. The pain was throbbing as I sat in an afternoon meeting at work and I finally had enough. I came here to the Orthopedic Injury Clinic offered through the Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania (OIP). I didn't need an appointment and signed in as a walk in. In about 30 minutes, I'd been registered, x-rayed, vital sign checked, seen by a doctor and PA, diagnosed, and given a cortisone shot to help with what I now know is calcific tendinitis (likely from that skiing tumble years ago). This was the FASTEST. MEDICAL. CARE. I've ever received in my life. I have a follow up appointment scheduled in 3 weeks to see how things have improved. I can not recommend this place enough - if you're struggling with joint pain, DON'T SUFFER in silence like I did for years. OIP will help you out FAST!

I explained that I wasn't able to pay up front because I was waiting for my Short Term Disability to kick in. That was fine but I got a notice that I had to pay $30 for the consultation. My insurance covers the first visit copay. When I tried to tell this to the girl on the phone, she got snippy with me. I've decided not to come to Drayer because I don't want to deal with snippy when I have excruciating pain. I would like an easy, calm experience.

The atmosphere is friendly, flexible schedule, Laura at the front desk is kind , friendly and compassionate. My PT Jeff is old school but one of the best PTs in my opinion he worked with in figuring out how to realign my spine, explaining to me that my core strength was the biggest issue and no medicine or surgery would help if my core is not strong. He worked with me knowing my high copay and once a week sessions was what I could only afford. He motivated me in doing my exercises daily and I stuck with it because from day one I was starting to have some relief from pain and am happy to say that yes my back is sore at times but it's not everyday. Truly a good experience and if I ever need PT again I wouldn't be going anywhere else.
