Thank you Seleh for doing such an incredible job altering my wedding dress! Seleh completed a complicated alteration that involved removing mesh covering most of the top half of the dress. Before undertaking the work, Seleh ran through some of the considerations, including the fact that the mesh provided structural support that he would need to compensate for around the straps. He finished the dress on time and the removed mesh looked flawless. He completed a second round of alterations after my first fitting. Then, a week or two after I took the dress home (and nine days before my wedding), I panicked about the fit of the bodice and the straps and left a slightly frantic voicemail for Seleh. To his immense credit, he called me back in ten minutes to calmly and gently ask me what was wrong and how he could fix it. He didn't make me feel crazy or unreasonable and made a quick appointment for me a couple of days later. He turned around this last round of alterations in a couple days -- a complex addition of fabric under the dress straps to reduce itchiness and some alterations to the bodice -- and the dress was perfect after that. His work on the straps was particularly impressive because the added fabric was completely invisible despite the fact that the straps were irregularly shaped, ornate, and lace. All in all, Seleh gets top marks for skill, timeliness, and emotional sensitivity (all a must when altering wedding dresses). Thank you again, Seleh! read more

I bought a leather jacket as a gift. Unfortunately, the sleeves were ridiculously long but the jacket was out of production. That's were Seleh's came in. The owner is exceedingly professional and clearly explained the alteration process to me. He then took measurements and explained pricing to so there were no surprises. Within three weeks the jacket was perfect though he would have made adjustments of necessary. If there was a name for a horrible bride, it would be Kha. I am not a planner- in general. I took my "wedding" dress to Seleh for alterations after a less than stellar experience with another seamstress. Seleh listened patiently to my story and worked with me under an extremely aggressive timeline (1 week!) and right before his vacation too! I'm extremely detailed oriented- borderline nit picky. However, my biggest flaw is that I'm too scared to speak up for fear of offending (hence why I had to seek out Seleh in the first place). What's great about him is his easy going personality and his skill for conversation. Seleh never once made me feel guilty for voicing my thoughts or opinions. After my every decision or indecision, he would have me try on the dress, then he would step back to look at me and then he would say, "Speak to me." It was as if he was an artist and I was his living masterpiece. We would work through every alteration until he knew I was thoroughly satisfied. And through it all, he never lost patience with me and all my indecisiveness. He is a really gentle soul and his work speaks for itself (see photos). I planned my wedding with few months to spare. I needed a dress ASAP and decided to go with a sample dress so I could take it home! The only thing is....I'm a size 0 and my sample dress was a 12. Most recommend buying a dress no more than 2 sizes bigger than your measurements. Naturally, I was very nervous and being new to the area, I didn't know where to go. I began to scour the internet to see who I thought could handle this job! I'd come to decide that I thought Seleh could be who I would trust based solely on internet reviews. Thank God for reviews! Seleh was very easy to work with and incredibly talented! He was able to take my dress in from a size 12 to my size 0 frame as if he'd made the dress from scratch himself! I was so nervous having to have it taken in so many sizes but he was able to complete it flawlessly! I'm so glad I was able to trust him to do this work for me. 10/10 recommend. I also had the dress fitted to me whilst wearing a bombshell push up bra (adds 2 cup sizes). However, the day of my wedding my perfect push up bra was nowhere to be found. I am a curvy girl and my hips are two sizes bigger than my waist. I brought several skirts, pants and dresses to Seleh and he skillfully took in the waist and left me with the slim fit look that I like. His craftsmanship is excellent so that you cannot tell it was altered. You are paying for quality and peace of mind with Seleh. He took the time to know me and I trusted him. He's patient and great to work with. He turned around some of my garments when I had a very tight turnaround. I've moved out of Baltimore and leaving Seleh was definitely a big con. I gave Seleh's an impossible task, but he worked serious magic! I asked to have the waist of a vintage evening gown taken out so I could fit into it. There was easily a four inch difference between the teeny tiny waist of the dress and my own waist. I couldn't even zip the dress up! We agreed at first that a strip would need to be cut from the bottom to make panels, but he wasn't happy with the idea of compromising the length of the dress. He thought the skirt length was perfect as it was, and I couldn't have agreed more. Instead, he asked for a week to examine the dress. Apparently he took the whole dress apart at the seams and re-stitched every seam to give a bit more space. The final result? A vintage gown that fit like it was made for me, compromising not an inch of skirt. No panels needed! I don't believe anybody else could have done what Seleh's did for that dress. This dress is triple-lined and made with extremely delicate satin and black lace. There are tiny rhinestones imbedded in the design. There was hardly any room at all for error. Despite all that, the finished dress is immaculate. Trust Seleh's with your projects. He's professional, talented, and has an incredible eye for style. Seleh is great!! I brought my wedding dress here for alterations. The boutique I bought it from did not do a good job of measuring me when I bought my dress and when it finally came in it was almost 2 inches too wide! My dress had detailed patterning on the torso and along the hips so taking it in without creating a mismatched pattern was tough. However, Seleh did phenomenal work and you could barely even tell where he took it in! He also shortened the train which was waaay too long and added an inconspicuous button for the bustle. Back Story: I bought a beautiful Vera Wang bridesmaid dress from Davids Bridal and entrusted and paid them to do my alterations. When alterations were "complete" I tried the dress on only to see that my alterations were half done and the ones that were completed were done sloppily. After 2 attempts of trying to fix my dress by the seamstress at Davids I walked out very unhappy. As a rule of thumb, tailoring is expensive, so if you're going to spend the $$ you may as well have it done right. The first time I saw Seleh, I brought in one dress that needed to be taken in--lace in the back, so... tricky, and another dress that needed a slit that was up to my *hoo-ha* stitched back together to something more appropriate. Both jobs were executed flawlessly. I ended up coming back with a dress that I wanted turned into a top. Again--flawless. I brought my grandmother's fur that I inherited to Seleh's for some alterations and restoration. Seleh did a fantastic job with everything! He added material under the arms and on the sides to make it fit and was able to blend the new and old material perfectly. I walked into his shop - without an appointment - late on a Saturday afternoon with an evening gown I needed for a big event the following Monday (2 days later) and no expectations that anything could be done given my timeline. Seleh immediately stopped what he was doing to look at the dress and over the next two hours, meticulously and with tremendous care and patience, he took apart the top of the dress, taking it in at the seams, creating straps, replacing the zipper, and tailoring it to perfection. The work turned out to be much more extensive than I thought but he never lost patience or enthusiasm, encouraging me to continue trying on the dress after each tweak until we got it just right, and the final result was much more beautiful than the original gown had been.
