It's time! I had been wanting to give Morpheus a try since reading about it online; however, I also knew that I wanted to go to a place that I trusted. So I did some research and found Self Care LA on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Doctor K, the owner of the practice, didn't just add his name to the practice as "medical director" - he actually works there himself along with 2 highly trained PA's. Doctor K did my Morpheus consultation, but Natalie did my actual procedure, and let me tell you, she's just wonderful along with Marine, the medical assistant. They both took great care of me! First they numbed me, offered me tylenol and a couple drops of CBD to ensure that I would be comfortable (and calm!) throughout the procedure! The level of care these two took to make sure I was ok made me feel extra special, but they just genuinely cared too. I can't wait to see my results from the Morpheus!  I should also mention that the space itself is so beautiful and California chic, they recently underwent a management change and have been renovating the space as well as updating their services - only place in that area that does Morpheus. I did it!! Finally got Botox to fix my "11s" - they've been bothering me for years and I just wasn't able to make the time with all the kids and their sports activities keeping me busy to do this for myself. On a recent visit to Santa Monica, I went to Lala Land for a yummy tea and avocado toast with my best friend and the conversation about Botox came up again. She mentioned that there's a med spa next door that I should check out because Doctor K has the best Botox technique. First things first, this med spa is so calming and serene, it's a beautiful space that makes you want to stay for hours! Dr. Bharat Kothakota (Doctor K) started his aesthetics career at Self Care LA and then bought the practice a couple of years after working there. I learned all this from Marine, the sweetest practice manager who checked me in, got me settled and ready for my consultation and procedure. Doctor K is the best!! He listened to my concerns about the "11s" and how I just wanted to look refreshed and remove the squint lines and not look over-Botoxed. Everything I was told about his technique is true, he's got a very light hand, I didn't feel a single thing and my look is very natural. The doctor I'm referring to is Dr. Vinay Aggarwal. This doctor lied to me over and over again. He didn't care that I spent over $13,000.00 and my results were worse than when I went in on day one of my cool sculpting treatment. All he cares about is money. After so many unsatisfied costumers, he sells his business and bails!! He's no where to be found even when the cool sculpting company is trying to get a hold of him. He's a crook and you should not trust that cool sculpting does what it claims to do. Many of his photos were altered. read more

Self Care LA is THE place! It's under new ownership (Doctor K!) and has undergone a 'face-lift' of its own with all new interior design, which is just amazing. I made an appointment here on a recommendation from a friend who had gone to get Microneedling and Clear+Brilliant. Making the appointment was super easy, I called in and Marine the office manager offered a couple different options and I quickly made my appointment for a "vampire facial" with PRP. She also mentioned during the call to bring a wide brimmed hat and to drink plenty of water the day of. These tips are critical, you'll see why. The day of my appointment arrives and I'm greeted by Marine and Nahal (the most fashionable PA ever!), they get me settled in for the numbing and blood draw. It's a good thing I drank a lot of water because my veins were plump for the blood draw. While I'm numbing for about 30 mins and my blood is in the centrifuge (spelling?), Marine asked if I want something to eat or drink or if I want to watch tv so I don't get bored! I opted for hot tea and Netflix. The actual procedure only takes about 15 mins, Nahal made sure I was comfortable throughout the process and even recommended to go a little deeper on a couple old scars. I did bleed quite a bit, but that's normal, but it DID NOT hurt. I was given an aftercare pouch with some post-procedure serum and instructions on what I can and can't do for 2 days. I'm so so glad Marine told me to bring a hat because you do need to really protect your skin from the sun for a couple days - even the 2 mins walk to the car! BTW, Nahal also checked in on me a few days later to see how I was doing! Love this place, I'll be coming here anytime I'm on the westside. read more

Worst. Scheduled an appointment with Dr. Aggarwal, got a call the day before, less than 24 hours telling me i needed to reschedule and that I would have to drive across town to the other location. Nevermind the fact that I had already set that day aside for my appointment. So I do all that and get there 15 minutes early. Im made to wait an hour and a half before I walk out of the exam room and find someone to ask them what the heck is going on. Im told Dr Aggarwal cant see me and Ill be seeing Dr Mathur instead. Okay... Whats the point of me researching, finding a doc with a good reputation, waiting a month to see him, driving across town after a last minute rescheduling, just to be passed off to another doctor? Next time I come in for a followup, im first told that I wont be seen, then Im told the whole place is shutting down. What a joke. When I got my bill in the mail they were charging me FOR TWO VISITS. I was confused and tried calling the billing company they use 'Nexus' to clarify why. They never ever got back to me. I ended up paying the bill, and trying to reach platinum care LA for an explanation, I left 2 messages; nobody called - and when I got to reach someone in the clinic, the billing department was on their lunch break and never gave me a call back. I felt like I was taken advantage of and overall I found it very unethical. read more

Doctor Agrawal was professional enough. However, back office staff is an absolute disaster!! My annual physical appt was 3 weeks ago. I have yet to see them file a claim with my insurance (through the online portal). Before going back for additional labs, I wanted to confirm that they were indeed in-network for my insurance, so I left 2 messages with the phone staff for the office manager Dania a week ago, never heard back. Called again today, rep said she would call me back before end of day. It's now 5pm, have not heard a peep. My question is relatively simple. If they can't answer simple questions like this without making me jump through multiple hoops, I shudder to think what response would be if I ever had a catastrophic illness with more complex questions or needs. P.S. Their telephone hold system needs to be fixed. It kept saying my estimated wait time was 1 min. I waited 16 mins until I finally gave up. read more

I have been going to PlatinumCare LA for about a year and have loved it since my first visit. I was saddened to see at my appointment today that they are closing their doors on December 22nd. How I Found PlantinumCare LA: Last year I had switched to new insurance so naturally I went to their website to find a covered provider. What I didn't realize is that they listed every doctor covered, even if they weren't in a practice. I kept getting directed to a number at Cedar Sinai which rang in some mystery department. Each time I was redirected to the appointment line only to learn the doctor I chose was just doctor on staff at Cedars with no practice. I was just about to give up after being transferred so many times, that I vented to a random nurse on the other line. She took it upon herself to refer me to PlantinumCare LA which she described at "The Bloomingdales of Doctors Offices." I called them up, they confirmed they were covered on my insurance and I made an appointment. I first met with Dr. Barkodar who was extremely professional and courteous. Eventually, I transitioned to Denise Moore, FNP, and I am thoroughly pleased with the care that she gives. No matter what I come in for, she is not only pleasant but also extremely rigorous before she makes any diagnosis and her bedside manner is second to none. I hope I can continue to see her because finding a care giver that actually gives care is hard to find and Denise Moore does just that. The office staff is also wonderful. They always have smiles on their faces and are friendly to talk to. I wish them all well and hope to see them again. read more

This is a work in progress review since I'm only on day 20 after my cool sculpting procedure. I will say that I am extremely happy with the results so far. I have a very low pain tolerance and this would've been a four starred review if not for the doctor's personal attention in managing my pain. So this is a review of my experience with coolsculpting at Platinum Care LA up to Day 20. Also, this is not a review of Platinum Care LA as a practice, just the coolsculpting portion. I will write a separate review on the practice, not that there's anything wrong with it! Background: I've a patient with Platinum Care LA for more than two years. I went in to get my annual check up and saw that they offered this procedure called Coolsculpting. I scheduled a consultation with the doctor because I've been wanting to get rid of my double chin. During the consultation I also decided to do something about these love handles that just won't go away with my diet. The Procedure: All in all, I had 8 places done in one sitting. Including two each on my chin, my upper abdomen, my flank, and of course, the love handles. The procedure was long but manageable. Each section was suctioned up and froze. The freezing numbs fairly quickly. It's after they remove the machine and there's a crucial two minutes where they rub out the frozen fat. This was very painful and would be curse out loud for me if not for the pain meds I was given prior to the procedure. Like how a dentist would give their patients some medication prior to a root canal is how I think of this. So after eight sections of rubbing out frozen fat. I went home feeling numb. Considering I just spent a bit over three hours getting my fat frozen then rubbed out, I was feeling surprising okay. Platinum Care made the experience much more bearable by offering me complimentary smoothie (I turned down the dinner offer) and playing my favorite tunes with a bluetooth Bose speaker. I mentioned up top that I have a very low pain tolerance. Day three through day ten was very uncomfortable. My stomach felt like pins and needles. The only thing that made it all bearable was the fact that doctors were constantly available to help me. Some pain meds and gel were needed and helped tremendously. The Results (So Far): Now looking at the results after the swelling subsided it was well worth it! What I'm seeing, especially my stomach is simply amazing! And this is just day 20! The results are supposed to be the most optimal at month THREE! I can't even wait! I am seeing the V lines, the sculpting at work! All in all, for a few days of uncomfortable sensations, this result has wowed me. No knife, and even better results! I love it! I'd recommend it to anyone. Seriously! Nice staff, but pretty disorganized. I won't be going back here again. I went there as a new patient for my annual physical. someone took my vitals and said that the doctor would be right in to see me, but then left me alone in the examining room for 45 minutes. i finally went out to the front desk to find out what was going on. it turned out the doctor had never even been notified that she had a patient waiting in the other room. at the end of my physical where everything looked normal, i was told that i would need to come back for a follow-up visit in 1 week in order to get the results of my routine blood-work. i asked, "but, i've already spent 2 hours here today just getting my physical done; if possible, i'd really prefer to just get my results over the phone so i don't have to come back in person." i was told that wouldn't be possible, and that the clinic's policy is to only give results in person, never over the phone. i've never encountered this policy before, and thought it was a bit stange the next week i got a text notification saying that i would be charged a $50 no-show fee if i failed to come in that friday for my follow-up appointment. i was confused about this, as i had specifically not made the follow-up appointment, but it seems like they had put it into their system without confirming with me. i called to cancel the appt (which i had never made), and was told again that they will not give blood work results over the phone. finally after calling them again, i got through to someone who agreed to give me my results over the phone. thankfully they were completely normal results. lastly, i made the mistake of scheduling a dermatologist consultation with a different doctor at this same clinic. i made the appointment through Zocdoc. when i arrived at the scheduled time, i was told that the dermatologist i'd made an appointment with on Zocdoc (her name is Denise Moore, and she was listed on Zocdoc as available for dermatology consultations), was not in fact available and did not provide dermatology consultations. So I left without seeing anybody. Overall, a frustrating experience with this clinic! read more
