What once was an amazing, inspiring atmosphere whose leadership truly wanted to see people improve themselves jas become just another average run of the mill fitness establishment that's no better than the other fitness chains. It's no longer the advertised family friendly environment it once was. They work hard to maintain the facade of a great gym that is better than the rest when in reality they fall short in comparison. This gym has really become run down due to lack of maintenance. The bullet hole in the front window that's been there for a year or more is one example. The broken mirror in the multipurpose room is another. It's been broken for years at this point. They have pictures of pro athletes hung on the wall for all to see, many who used to support this gym. The multitude of pro athletes that once supported this gym has dwindled to just a few over the last year and now you don't see them in this gym much at all. The music is often inappropriate and vulgar and is played at levels that make it difficult to hear anyone you might be talking to (trainer, friend, staff, etc) during the weekdays, especially in the afternoons. The volume tends to be ok in the mornings and weekends though and i think that is because its different staff running the gym at those times. Should you bring the music volume up to gym ownership the response you get is inappropriate, acusatory, and unprofessional. On occasion, the facility smells of sewage when you walk in the door. It's been occurring for years but remains an issue to this day Equipment is often in need of maintenance that seems to take longer than other gyms to address (inoperable cardio equipment, torn up pleather seating or pulleys on weight machines, etc). The equipment is older and perhaps this is to be expected for an establishment with older equipment, I don't know. It does get fixed eventually though. The 3 knee pads available are compressed to the point of being ineffective and the 2 mats they have are torn and ripped. They have needed replacement for well over 6 months at this point.

But today this blonde girl who was working the front desk would not let me do a day pass. I got there at 7:00 she argued that I couldn't stay there after eight. This never was an issue before and I also go to other Powerhouse gyms like the Las Vegas one and never had an issue. So disappointed that I won't be able to workout here when I'm on the road. Thankfully I was able to go to armbrust pro gym and had no issue there. I hope they revise their travel policy.

I've been a member at Chuze for about 8 years and have been at this location for almost 4 of the 8…read more I've made a lot of friends here. The staff are always working hard to make sure it stays clean. They recently updated with some awesome new equipment and the Lift Lab is fantastic. Chris the manager and Cindy who I always see in the morning are always super helpful and friendly and I have had great interactions with everyone. If I could say one thing that would be negative is that I had recently renewed my membership for one year, however my wife was transferred to CA for work and so I had to cancel. They charged me a cancellation fee which I would understand if I didn't really have a good reason, however this is a situation I can't really control. I feel like there should be discretion for certain situations. There is not a Chuze location where I am moving, otherwise I could just continue there.

Dear Chuze Fitness Management,…read more I am writing to formally appeal a decision made by Chris, the manager at the Aurora, CO location, to ban me from all Chuze Fitness locations. My name is Jeffrey S. Bowerman, and I have been a dedicated member of your gym, frequently working out with my wife, Debbie Bowerman. The incident leading to this ban occurred in February 2026 and involved a staff member named Cindy. At the time, I was dealing with significant personal and health challenges, including a broken foot and multiple hospitalizations, as well as serious illnesses affecting my brothers. During an interaction regarding the recovery and tanning beds, there was a misunderstanding about my membership level and the use of the mobile app. While I admit I became frustrated, I immediately apologized to Cindy and explained the personal stress I was under. Unfortunately, when I asked to speak with Chris, he upheld the decision to revoke my membership across all locations without, to my knowledge, reviewing any video footage of the interaction. My wife and I valued our time at Chuze Fitness, as it was a vital part of our routine and wellbeing. Being restricted to the local recreation center has been a poor substitute for the facilities and community at your gym. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter with someone in senior management to share my side of the story and seek a resolution that would allow me to return. I can be reached at (906) 450-7393 or via this email address. Thank you for your time and for considering my request to reinstate my membership. Sincerely, Jeffrey S. Bowerman

Yes, people leave duffle bags on the floor but they're quick to move them if you ask nicely, so who cares. There are five free squat racks, so you never have to wait for one. While the space is small, their variety of weight lifting equipment is great. I've never really had to wait on any equipment, even during 5 o'clock rush hour. Yes, the equipment is dated but they keep everything clean and in working order. The bathrooms are always clean. I truly can't think of anything I would change. Except that the dumbbells are so old that you can no longer see the weight labels on them, which forces me to do math in my head, i.e. adding up the plates plus 5 lbs. for the handle. It's purely a weight lifting gym, with a few cardio machines. If you're looking for a sauna or massage chair, you're in the wrong place. If you're bothered by big dudes slamming barbells on the floor, you're in the wrong place. If you're bothered by patriotic flags honoring our military, you're in the wrong place. If you're bothered by motivational flags using the F word you're in the wrong place. If you're a germaphobe who brings a pristine white towel to the gym you're in the wrong place. Ashley G said it best "It's a no rules but respect kind of gym". A+

This facility has a wall of huge windows with a beautiful view of the mountains. It's kept up & clean. There's always plenty of parking...there are even charging stations for electric vehicles. Note, membership is free for Denver residents that are 60+ & those ages 5-18. With membership you have access to all 30 Denver rec centers & pools. I regularly go to two classes - one is a Cardio & Strength class & the other is Tai Chi, both are drop-in. The instructors are fun & very knowledgeable. Christine teaches the cardio class & always demonstrates modifications, so it's perfect for all levels of fitness. Maureen is very well versed in Tai Chi as well. This is a fantastic center with fabulous instructors.

The position of the two bench presses and incline bench are pushed up against the wall on the East side of the building. Right where the steel reinforcement beams are located which leaves NO space to safely spot your partner without hitting your head or back on one of those beams. You cannot even get behind them without crawling around the weights or beams themselves. This is incredibly dangerous and a major safety issue. Whomever designed the layout of the weight room does not appear to have experience with weight training. The nautilus machines and free weight areas should probably be switched. There is nowhere to safely stretch (people do it under the stairs) or do ab exercises, box jumps, etc. Someone, with knowledge of weight training, should redesign the space for efficiency and safety.
