I got my nipples pierced in December and had requested to have them done at the same time. There were 2 actual piercers and one lady working the front and register area. They had decided to let the one who was not currently doing piercings to do one of mine and the entire time she was asking questions as if she didn't know how to do ANYTHING. When she pierced the one she went WAY too far back and into the actual tissue of my boob rather than the nipple. Since then, it has gotten infected numerous times despite cleaning regularly and using unscented soaps. For at least a month after it would bleed nonstop and puss everyday, and still continues to. The other piercing has healed with no complications whatsoever and hasn't hurt since early February. I have previously gotten my septum done here and had no issues at all. The girl who did my left nipple piercing had to have been training. I would have rather gone through the pain twice and got them done one at a time than let her pierce it incorrectly. read more

i've gotten my conch, tragus, and bellybutton done here + my friends have gotten eyebrow and nose. the lady who did all of ours did a really good job. super nice, fast, and they make sure to clean everything and give you a sheet on how to take care of your piercing. definitely recommend read more

Heads up, long review: Its a week after I got my nipples pierced here. I just got back from doing a check up at a different tattoo place (i know for sure is credible and extremely knowledgeable, only went here because closer to my house and Self Expressions was closed so I couldnt call) My experience: I got my nipples pierced a week ago. The pain was a 4/10 for me (I have a high pain tolerance). She overall did a good job: the barbells are straight, needle and clamps were in a sterilized package, answered all my questions. After putting the jewelry in, she stuck a piece of cotton ball under one side of the jewelry on each nipple to soak up the blood. Pain was at a 6/10 for about 2 hrs after leaving. Today: The past few days actually I have been getting weird, sharp, burning pains at random times. After my shower tonight, I noticed a ring of discoloration around my Left nipple/areola. And both of my nipples themselves were yellowish colored (Not the discharge, but my nipple). The hypochondriac in me freaked out & over reacted so I went to my local piercing shop (self expressions is an hour & half away from me and they were closed so i couldnt call). He looked at my nipples and said they were good, just bruised. and told me there were few things he'd suggest for piercings in the future that i think would help other people in general with their new piercings. Here they are: 1. The use of clamps for my nipple piercings caused the bruising on the surface and under tissue of the nipple (this was the discoloration and my nipples being yellowish- not the discharge but my nipples). So just know you might get bruises if your piercer uses clamps. 2. NEVER USE COTTON ON PIERCINGS! This is what has most likely been causing the burning, sharp pains in my left boob (but I am willing to be wrong, this could just be from my body trying to reject the piercing). There are fibers that are caught inside and now I need to pluck each one out (not very fun). This isnt just for nipple piercings but NO piercings should have cotton ANYwhere around it (exception: Q-Tips) ***In my opinion*** I suggest not putting cotton balls or cotton rounds (unless theres a non-cotton fiber side) on any of your piercings... remember this is just my opinion and use your own discretion. 3. Soaking piercings is only for an angry, inflamed or infected piercing (from what i've learned in my research and asking multiple piercers). A LOT of places disagree and will tell you to soak your piercings once or twice a day. And spraying the saline solution on q-tips to clean the area should only be used once there is discharge. No other time. ***In my opinion*** At least for nipple piercings, that wont happen until at least 1 week, maybe closer to 1.5-2 weeks. Just let it get clean in the shower by running water over it. And never use towels to dry because it can catch onto ur piercing & they rnt sanitary. Use a hair dryer, this is the best way (I believe). You want your piercings (especially nipples) dry & not build up moisture. Overall, I do recommend this place as long as you remember these 3 main things for nipple piercings: No clamps, no cotton (for any piercing), and no soaking. Sorry for making this long, I just figured I'd share my experience and the research I have done to anyone looking for advice on their new nipple piercing! Still do recommend though from my experience so far! Probably would give a 4/5 stars. read more

The lady with short purplish hair (not the owner) treated me like I was the biggest inconvenience when I walked in asking for jewelry she acted upset she had to get off the chair to go in the back and get the jewelry she told me she had and offered to show me. This girl tried to put a bigger gauge in my piercing then it was pierced with!!! I'm not even sure she knew what she was doing. I was literally bawling in the chair because the way she was treating me. I could hear her tell her coworker "I give up I'm done trying!" I'm not pleased at all! I will not be returning for business! I normally tell everyone that wants piercing or jewelry to go to Self Expressions. I will also stop referring people to this place. read more
