Gas/service: A little pricey, but it costs extra to haul the fuel out here and pay the associated expenses for the relatively small volume they move. They have Diesel, though. Coin-op air hose, and free hose water available. Convenience/grocery store: Everything you would expect to find at a gas station store on the road, but also stocked a little heavier on the grocery side, including a produce section. DVD rentals: In the back of the store you'll find a pretty respectable selection. Not Blockbuster-sized, but certainly much more than you are offered at a Redbox kiosk. To-go counter: Sandwiches made to order, and take-and-bake pizza made to order. Call ahead or order in person. They will also deep-fry your frozen snack selections (burritos, etc) if you ask. Hot dogs and breakfast sandwiches/burgers are in a warmer ready to grab, and full condiments are offered. Hardware store: Not a full-line hardware outlet, but you'll likely find what you need to help you survive your automotive of home repair emergency. Tools, duct work, plumbing, nuts and bolts... there's a little of everything occupying this wing (three short aisles). The shed outside holds additional supplies such as full-length lumber and plumbing, as well as hay bales and feed supplies, but you have to ask to see it. Propane: They will refill your tank on site and charge you by refill volume, instead of charging you a flat rate to swap tanks. This is a good deal. Replacement 5-gal tanks are on site if needed. Full-service gunsmith: A portion of the store is operated by a professional gunsmith, who can perform full-service maintenance and repair of your firearms. In addition to firearms for sale, there are other hunting and personal defense items available. The only thing that keeps me from giving a five-star is that prices are a little high and the hardware store runs a little thin sometimes, but in exchange for having this resource out there and not having to go all the way to town, it is reasonable. They have to make a living, too.

While it's a retail market with fresh fruit and veggies, a high quality butcher counter, deli, pantry items, spices, grains and beans, and premade meals, the bulk of their business is supplying to hundreds of local restaurants. During and after Covid, many of these restaurants went out of business which affects the entire supply chain. Sheridan's has suffered. Additionally, suppliers have raised their prices and residential shopping in the area has greatly decreased. All these factors combined have had serious consequences to this once thriving market. Sadly. When I stopped in earlier this month to buy escarole, a green leafy veg for Italian wedding soup, I was shocked to find most of the shelves bare. I was heartbroken, actually. This gem of a store has enabled me to make all of my favorite Italian dinners because they carry ingredients that most other stores don't. I'm from an Italian family and lived my entire life in NJ until moving to Portland in 2000. The first fall, when the weather chilled and I was craving Italian Wedding Soup, escarole was not available anywhere. Thankfully I found Sheridan's and have been a loyal customer ever since. I am doing my best to support them by buying my produce and veggies there, plus whatever other items I can find that I need. It is challenging since their shelves are not stocked, which means I buy what I can at Sheridan's and supplement from another grocery store. But that's what you do to help a business in need. Please, if you live in the area, buy what is available and help them through this very difficult time. Sheridan's is such a gem and it would be a tremendous loss to Portland to lose this market.

The condition of the books were great too including some older hidden gems like a Paul Bocuse French cookbook that in mint condition. There are two locations in Lake Oswego and I went to both. Both stores were very organized and the books were in sections that was easy to navigate the store. Both stores also had friendly workers. They have great value, and everybody working there was super friendly and kind. The prices are definitely cheaper than the big box stores for a lot of stuff and all of their plants are extremely healthy-they have a good variety of vegetables as well and they look worlds different from the things you can buy at the big box stores!! Their prices are very reasonable. I always have the best luck with their plants, they take-off quickly and thrive. I can always find a few unique plants that I have never seen nor read about. It is always fun to bring home something that I don't already have. All of the wonderful folks at Deep Creek are kind and helpful.
