We are so glad we got to stop by the Butteville store. Everyone working here is very friendly & welcoming. You get to learn about this historic town and check out the Willamette river for a short walk after your meal. We ordered: Grilled cheese Joe Wolf Tomato Bisque Soup Marionberry icecream Cup of dirt icecream Pro: -Sandwiches were all really good & filling. The bread was toasted just right & the grilled cheese was not too greasy. -Sandwiches come with chips~ theirs tasted almost like honey mustard which we really enjoyed -Tomato bisque soup was filling, hearty, and just the right amount of cream. Not sour at all like some can be. -Can't go wrong with ice cream! Next time we'll try with the cones. -Plenty of parking along the store/street -Large outdoor patio Con: -Closes at 2pm, so time your visit well!

This is a fun country Cafe in a very old historic building. The family that runs this are terrific. The menu has good variety and everything is homemade. Great soups and sandwiches they have all kinds of ice creams, desserts, coffee drinks. They even have entertainment on the weekends. This was my first time but I can tell you it won't be my last.

This new family run deli/restaurant is just the small town offering that Butteville should offer. Within three minutes you know that Jordan is pouring his soul into all food that he offers. The menu is simple (as it should be) but everything we've tried has been delicious. Today was the ham/goat cheese sandwich, but the grilled cheese and tomato soup offering is awesome as well. The kicker was the homemade peppermint hot cocoa. We will be back again and again. Bonus, they offer Saturday night live music even during winter!

Extremely friendly!! My wife had the "Joe Wolf" sandwich and REALLY enjoyed it. I tried a bite of just the ham and thought it was excellent quality and taste. I only ordered a waffle cone of vanilla soft serve which was really good too. We'll be back!

This Oregon heritage location is full of historic and cultural artifacts and information, that makes it a destination in itself. We came for the ice-cream after biking from champoeg state park and it was a wonderful way to cool off after such a long ride. The bbq smelled amazing but we opted to try something light and got a grilled cheese that was perfect cooked ooey gooey in the inside crisp on the outside. Will always stop when in the area.

Cool little place and the food is decent and the coffee was good. The local beer choices were great as well.

History adorns the walls, including one of the finest collections of ice cream scoops. Fascinating stuff!

So very glad I stopped at the Butteville Store. After traipsing about Champoeg Park, I was happy to sit down to an amazing bowl of clam chowder and a history lesson on the transformation of the premises through the years. On a warm spring Thursday noon, the place was full of happy customers. I will be going back soon.

Laughing with friends while enjoying the night's entertainment.

Just an FYI, because this place gets busy they request you limit your visit to 1.5 hours. Now the menu. It is vast and everything sounded so good. Between the pastries, the yummy drinks, and the menu items, I had a hard time picking. I went with a muffin and a latte. The blueberry lemon muffin was large and so tasty. I ordered a plain latte to get a baseline on the coffee making skills. It was pretty good. I'll have to try one of the seasonal drinks next time I go. This place is small. Tables are close together. I could hear everyone's business. So keep that in mind. I am going to return when I have a bit more time. Probably a bit earlier in the morning to make sure I can get a table.

Employees are pleasant, and gave excellent recommendations. You order at the counter and they give you a number. You find yourself a table. They have mugs if you consume your coffee in their premises. They also offer to go cups if that is what you want. I ordered the European fried rice. The Portuguese sausage, and avocado complimented it well. They don't skimp on their portions. I also had the mocha which was perfect. Their dessert case looked delightful. Looking forward to returning, and trying other items on their menu, and of course some pastries. Make sure to give Elka Bee's a try.

My parmesan crusted halibut was a little more dense than I would expect for that type of fish -- it was bright white, but was not flaky at all. The flavor was good, but it felt very heavy with the provided tartar sauce. The fries had great flavor, but they could have stayed in the fryer a little longer, as they were rather pale. The veggies were obviously frozen and reheated, and didn't have a lick of seasoning on them -- definitely needed salt & pepper. I ordered soup with my meal, and it didn't make it out before the main courses. Not a huge deal, as they just brought it out after I mentioned it. The soup was okay, but nothing special. The best part of the meal was dessert -- Dutch Apple Pie. It was just what an apple pie should be, with a nice flaky crust. I would definitely go back, but might try something other than seafood. Our experience was in the high 3-star range, but not quite a 4.

The interior is very cute - there was a red checkered tablecloth on our table. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. When we ordered the espresso martini and mentioned we only wanted one to share, she came back with it split into two mini glasses! We've never had that happen before. The french toast was really good, esp. with the lemon curd. I was scraping every last bit of it into my mouth. I'd love to try other menu items next time!

We had a 10:45 reservation but ended up waiting outside on the sidewalk for over 40 minutes. We got a couple of "it'll be soon" updates and one offer to sit at a picnic table on the sidewalk. That wasn't an option for my husband's back. And, by that point, it felt like we'd already had the full sidewalk experience! To add to the frustration, we watched a table that would have fit our party turn over and be given to a group that had arrived well after us. Once seated, things didn't improve much. Our daughter has celiac disease, and after talking through options with our server, she ordered a modified breakfast plate. When it arrived, it had two slices of (gluten-full) toast placed right in the middle. We asked for a remake. While we were waiting someone came over to tell us (firmly) that the kitchen isn't dedicated gluten-free. We fully get that, but that's different from putting bread on top of everything on the plate, especially after we'd already discussed the restriction. As I was saying that, the staff member walked away. The interaction felt more like a lecture than the apology that would've been appropriate. The food overall was okay, but not memorable. My husband said the "special" Bloody Mary was the worst he's ever had--memorable, just not in a good way. On the positive side, the gluten-free coffee cake was excellent, and thankfully the company made the day worthwhile. My guess is there may have been an issue with our reservation. We made it in person previously and it was written in a notebook. When we called to confirm the day before, they initially couldn't find it. It felt like it might not have made it into the system, and they were trying to accommodate on the fly once they realized it. If that's the case, a little transparency upfront would have gone a long way--we would have appreciated the option to adjust our plans rather than end up waiting outside for so long. Overall, this felt like a series of misses and mishandled opportunities to improve the experience. It's also an excellent reminder of why I normally steer clear of dining out on holidays.
